The day Sasuke had left you behind was a day that remained at the top of your head for years. You can recall every little detail of it, every word of the conversation you two had and the tears you shed as he turned his back to you and dismissed you so coldly when you found out about his plan to leave.

You had tried convincing him to stay but his mind was made up and it made you more paranoid about when he’ll leave and if you leave his side, would he take that chance to run away. So, you tried to stay beside him as much as possible.

Even forced him to stay in your room to talk like you two usually do when something was on your mind that bothered you too much to keep in.

In his head, he thought what he was doing was best suited for him and his revenge to kill his older brother Itachi, even if that meant leaving you behind. Obviously he didn’t want to, he fought himself a few times about whether or not he should continue the cold attitude and hurt your feelings so you wouldn’t come after him.

It hurt him to see you so upset, to see you in pain and it hurt him to slip those strong sleeping pills in your water to make sure you wouldn’t wake up and chase after him in the middle of the night.

He watched over you as you slept peacefully even though once you wake, it’ll be far from peaceful. Your friendship with Sasuke has always been up and down since you two met after he became the very last of his clan.

He was very sad and lonely at first, making you sad and want to keep him company as he sat by the water and bottled up his anger. At first he would push you away, tried to be mean and have you leave him alone but you were always stubborn.

It didn’t take long for you to always be side by side, even though you two were opposites. He was always cold, mean attitude and kept to himself. You were the social one, always laughing but could have an attitude if needed.

As time slowly progressed, your feelings for him had slowly blossomed. You were never scared to show or admit any emotion towards him, it’s not like he could hurt your feelings anyways considering you were so used to his cold tone and harsh words.

So the flirting and teasing you did towards him did nothing but entertain you to get a reaction out of him even though deep down your feelings were there and evident.

After you had woken up from your deep slumber, you found out from Naruto about Sasuke’s disappearance and him running off to seek more power and get his revenge.

This sent you in a spiral as well, you two became a pair and without one, the other would be out of place and not themselves. That’s exactly how you felt for years, you felt like a robot, working solely as a machine to become the best Ninja you could be.

You only trained and when you were not training, you were gathering information on Sasuke and his location which always led to dead ends. The years of being alone made you crazy, love crazy even.

You would do anything for him, even if that meant ditching the Leaf village and becoming a rogue ninja like he did. You were devoted to him and Sasuke knew that, it was only a matter of time before you would catch up to him and come hunt him down.

But It made you feel stupid that he left you behind so easily, it made you feel stupid for believing he’ll actually stay behind for you so just like he did, the anger bottled up, the betrayal.

You had made sure to gather everything you needed to be confident in going out on the search mission on your own. It was an easy mission to do, you made sure to lie and tell everyone you didn’t feel good- it’s not like they would possibly come over and check on you and you’ll most likely only be gone a few days.

Everything had to be perfect. The time being three in the morning, the only time the guards were half asleep and not as alert as any other time which made it perfect to sneak out of the village with no trace of where you’ll be headed.

It wasn’t long till it was the following day, the sun beaming down on you as you stood in the middle of a desert where it was suspected to be Orochimaru’s many hideouts. You sighed to yourself, your feet hitting down on the dirt and rocks as you tried to find an entrance.

Kabuto had noticed an alert that signaled somebody was passing out the hideout which led him to you. He had kept his distance at first, staying hidden as you find the entrance and not hesitate to walk inside and become trapped when he stepped inside behind you.

“Now, what are you doing here?” He spoke up, amusement written all over his face knowing his master would have fun toying with you.

You didn’t even bother turning around to make eye contact with him, you knew who it was and you weren’t all that bothered. You were confident you could take him on but it wasn’t exactly on your to do list, you were set on finding Sasuke first so you started to move your feet down the long hallway full of doors.

“I asked you a question.” He was growing impatient, quickly grabbing your upper arm and that made you quickly turn and hold a kunai up to his throat but his reflexes were just as the same as yours.

The both of you stood there, knives pointed at each other practically having a stare off until Orochimaru heard the exchange happen and appear on the other side of you.

“What do we have here? Another toy.” He had a nasty grin on his face, forcing you to drop the kunai on the floor and huff out a breath.

“I’m only here for Sasuke.” Was all you said, did you need to say anymore? No, that’s the only reason you were there.

You couldn’t care about the other two nor could you care about getting in a fight with them but you knew it was going to happen but will you start a fight or give up and hope Sasuke would turn up.

“And why would I let you near my most precious Sasuke?” He asked, almost dumbfounded that you thought you could walk in here so easily and demand the one person he would kill anyone for.

“Y/N?” You heard his voice before you could even answer Orochimaru’s question, your eyes instantly moving to meet his.

He looked different, older obviously but different in a good way. It actually made your heart pound in your chest and when you tried to step towards him, both of the men quickly held a tight grip on you.

Sasuke was confused but not surprised that you found him, you were smart and a great Ninja, he knew it was going to happen eventually but he didn’t think it would be this soon.

His eyes scanned over your face, the memories of you two were now fresh in his mind. Your face reminded him of all the moments you two shared whether it was good or bad. He could see it in your eyes that you were in love with him, that you would get on your knees and make his every wish come true.

He could tell just how blind you truly were to everything, how your devotion for him could kill you so easily. You were asking to be killed just by coming here and yet here you were standing right in front of him.

The tight grip the two men had on you didn’t last long, you made sure it didn’t once you saw his face. You snatched yourself out of their grips and quickly walked over to where he was, making his eyes go wide in shock at how determined you were.

You stood in front of him, he was now much taller than you but that didn’t stop you from raising your hand and landing a punch straight to his jaw, making him stumble back and taste the blood inside of his mouth.

“I deserved that one.” He scoffed, licking his lips and rubbed jaw with his fingertips.

The emotions, the anger, the sadness, it all came bubbling up as you punched him. You wanted to scream at him, you wanted to cry, you wanted to hold him. Everything was overwhelming so all you could do is punch him then embrace him in a tight hug.

He groaned, his hands quick to try and pry you off, almost forgetting just how touchy you were with him when you two were kids.

“C’mon, we’re not kids anymore. Why the hell are you here? You could’ve gotten yourself killed, Y/N.” He eased up once he looked back into your eyes, the faint memories replaying in his head repeatedly.

“I.. I’ll do anything for you. Just don’t send me back to the village, let me stay.” He stared at you like you were crazy, he couldn’t imagine you were doing all of this just because you loved him so much.

“You’re fucking insane. Did anyone else come with you?”

“No, just me.”

“Sasuke, if she doesn’t leave I’m going to have to force her out of here. She could be lying and the hidden leaf could be outside waiting for us.” Kabuto spoke up, making Sasuke’s eyes dart to him, giving him a glare.

“I trust her, no one is here and no one is going to lay a finger on her.” He warned the both of them and even though he hated the fact you were here and he tried his best to pull the bad guy act, he still wouldn’t let any harm come your way.

“Orochimaru,” Kabuto began to speak to protest against what Sasuke was saying, they can’t afford to keep you here, they couldn’t even afford to keep you alive for knowing this much.

“Hm, I suppose we are just going to have to trust Sasuke on this but she can’t stay.” He hummed, restraining himself to want to somewhat toy with you and see why his precious skin suit is so invested in you.

Sasuke had nodded, grabbing your arm and started to lead you towards the exit doors but you were stubborn and you were set on staying beside him, even if that meant becoming rogue or fighting Orochimaru, you didn’t care.

“Please, I can’t go back.” You mumbled to him, his eyes looking down to meet yours and he sighed to himself.

“Then why the fuck did you come here? I left you behind for a reason, to actually have a good life without me there to fuck it all up, Y/N.” He started to get frustrated but the soft look in your eyes had made him feel sad for leaving you.

“I don’t know, I just.. I care about you. I love you.” You admitted, making him shake his head repeatedly and hold his hands up.

“No, no. Naruto is going to come looking for you. You need to go back.”

“Not without you, Sasuke.” You cut him off mid sentence, reaching over to grab a hold of his hand but he stepped back to prevent that from happening.

He knew he couldn’t say no to you and he’s always known that since you two were little. He always gave you what you wanted or else you’ll just constantly bicker until then.

He would be lying if he said he didn’t miss that but he couldn’t afford to miss this opportunity to take down Itachi, he even had a solid plan to kill Orochimaru before he became only a skin suit for him to wear and jump around in.

But you showing up made his plans a little more tricky and considering you won’t leave without a fight, he was trying to search his brain on how to work with you here.

“Wait for me at the edge of the forest, if I don’t come back in an hour- go back to the village. Promise me.” He started to say, making you shake your head but he gripped onto your shoulders and stared down at you.

“Promise me, Y/N. I have shit to take care of first, I’ll meet you there, I swear.” You sighed at his words, nodding your head.

You didn’t bother to speak as the sadness started to weigh down on you heavily. You wanted to trust him, you wanted to believe he would come back for you but it was hard to tell, it was hard to believe in the state he’s in right now.

You were lucky he didn’t kill you or whoop your ass right here for hunting him down when he specifically told you not to but you couldn’t just not search for him, you couldn’t stand in the village and pretend to be happy while he was out here drowning in his own anger, it was slowly killing him.

You turned to walk away towards the forest, but halfway there you had the gut feeling to turn back around and go back to him. It took you a few minutes of thinking about it till you decided to.

Your feet started to walk back towards the hideout but as Sasuke dealt with his Orochimaru business and got rid of it permanently, it had gotten a little more messy than he would have liked.

He got himself in a sticky situation that he wasn’t too sure how to handle it but he knew he would be able to. That is until you came in anyways, taking the kunai and plunging it inside of Orochimaru’s chest, making everyone freeze and stare at you in shock.

Your mind had went blank and your body was set in defensive mode when you had seen Sasuke stuck. You had dug the blade as deep as you could, Kabuto not wanting to even bother before he made a run for it for himself, his other plans needing to be attended to.

“I told you to wait by the forest!” He had shouted at you but in the back of his head, he was somewhat relieved.

And there it was again, the devotion and love you had for him written all over your face as you stood up straight and looked up at him. He felt a sense of sadness, like it was his fault he had screwed you up this badly. It was his fault you were like this and it was his fault that the years he left you behind, you became a machine that only granted his wish and kept him safe.

Deep down the emotions he had for you was buried inside of his chest, he tried to get rid of them, tried to not think about them but you appearing here in front of him today had made every little drop of emotion and memory he had for you fresh in his brain.

He had decided to let you tag along with him, he decided he needed someone to be beside him like a partner, like a sidekick. He couldn’t look at you and tell you to go back to the hidden leaf anyways, he would be too upset to watch you go so you stayed and now you both were labeled as Rogue Ninja of the Leaf.

[Sasuke Uchiha X Reader] Kitchen Disaster

|2022 Flubruary Event|

Week 3: Falling in Love|Day 15: Sasuke tries making you something edible and he refuses your help.

Pairing: Sasuke Uchiha x gn!Reader

Note: Third week is already here! Enjoy!

“Two cloves of garlic,” the instructor voiced from the screen.

“Two cloves of garlic,” Sasuke repeated, “shoot, I haven’t peeled them yet.”

The raven-haired paused the video, squatted down to reach the unpeeled cloves of garlic that managed to roll off the table. “Y/N is going to wake up soon,” he mumbled, frustrated at how the skin of the garlic would not peel off despite his meticulous picking.

You shuffled into the kitchen after taking a wonderful nap and were greeted with none other than the scent of something burning. “Sasuke?” You asked him, poking your head into the kitchen area and your eyes widened in horror. “Something smells off.”

“The dish is supposed to smell like that.”

To be honest, you were certainly woken up by the sound of a dish shattering mercilessly. The culprit was Sasuke, you were sure now that you saw his performance in the kitchen. But you slept through, thinking that he might have had a slip of his fingers, not until the terrifying scent waffled all the way into your shared bedroom.

“I can give you a hand,” you offered, walking over to where he was standing. “What are you making?”

“I can do it just fine,” he frowned. “You can go rest and I will call you out to eat later.”

You nodded and went to the living room to wait for his masterpiece with both curiosity and restlessness. The Sasuke you knew never spent more than fifteen minutes in the kitchen. He was the man who would use his Jutsu to grill his food, not even bothered to go through the process of turning on and heating the oven.

“Sasuke?” You called out to him again. “Are you nearly done?”

“Sure, come.”

You released a breath, not even sure if you should feel relieved or nervous for what he had in stall for you. After you took a seat, the raven-haired started to present his dishes, one by one. Once the plates were all arranged neatly on the table, he began introducing. “This is honeyed chicken wings, this one is grilled salmon, and this one is a usual salad.”

You gulped. His honeyed chicken wings and grilled salmon were coated with the same color, slightly brown, if not black. Not to mention they smelled almost the same—the scent of burnt food. His usual salad did not look usual at all, except for the veggies that he managed to dice into edible cubes. You took a bite of the chicken wing and mustered a smile. “It’s very…crispy.”

“I’m glad you think so,” he smiled, “the tutorial said twenty minutes, but I thought it would be better with a little touch-up, so I Katon-ed them for another minute or two to accentuate the crispiness.”

You were at a loss for words.

[Sasuke Uchiha X Reader] Familiar

|2022 Flubruary Event|

Week 1: Attraction|Day 5: Sasuke keeps showing up at your workplace, what is his intention?

Pairing: Sasuke Uchiha x gn!Reader

Note: Day 5 already, this is super duper funnn :DDD Enjoy!

“Uchiha-san, have you found something new?” You asked, still focused on the document on your desk as his similar footsteps approached your cubicle.

“Yes,” he replied instantly, handing you the files in his hand, taking a seat in the empty office. “You’re working overtime again.”

“So are you,” you chuckled—Sasuke was a familiar face at your place, reporting periodically thrice a week to update your Department on his scout. At first, you were not in charge of handling his reports, but your colleague, who originally worked with the Uchiha, applied for a prolonged leave, passing the responsibility to your plate. You also noticed that ever since you began working directly with Sasuke, he came here more often than before. Just a coincidence, you thought and cast the thought aside, he would never be interested in you out of all people.

Reaching out to retrieve the stack of paper he just placed on your desk, your clumsy self somehow managed to knock your water bottle to the ground in the process. You hastily stood up from your seat and went around your desk, bending down to collect the poor object lying on the floor when a hand came flying in, brushing over yours as he also grabbed the bottle.

Sasuke immediately retracted his hand, staring flusteredly outside the window without saying anything besides a low mumble that you could not hear clearly. The silence dragged on for another hour, and you were lost in your work, completely having forgotten that he was still sitting diagonally from your desk, gazing at your serious expression as you scanned over the rest of the reports. When the clock dinged eight in the evening, you put down your pen with a satisfied grin and clapped your hands in excitement seeing the pile of work already thinned significantly. Sitting not too far away, Sasuke could not help but let out a chuckle at your antics, and that was when you realized that he was still there.

“Are you not going to go home, Uchiha-san?” You raised your voice out of embarrassment, cheeks flushing bright red.

“I’ll walk you home, it’s late.” He stood up and gave you his cloak, glancing everywhere butyou, adding in a rush, “And cold.”

You accepted his offer in a daze, putting on the cloak that smelled like him, and followed his lead out of the office. Sasuke sighed in relief—he finally mustered enough courage to do so. It took him long enough.

Befitting the Gods - Kenshin X Reader X Sasuke [Deity!AU]

Hey everyone! This is my special series of a previous AU I had written, tailored to @delicateikemenmemes as the wheel winner as part of my 1000 followers event! I hope you enjoy this Sara, and Happy Lunar New Year to all those who celebrate!

There will be another chapter, focusing more on Sasuke after this, and then three chapter endings [one for Kenshin, one for Sasuke and one ending with both] coming soon. Asks are open for more content of my IkeSen Deity AU too! Note: Reader is often referred to a few names so be aware.

Also if someone notices the blatantly obvious Shuumatsu no Valkyrie reference, my kudos to you. Favourite character.

The gathering of the mighty deities of Sengoku. It was a renowned festival where the residents would celebrate and praise to all the deities of Sengoku for keeping the world alive.

As for the deities themselves, it was a whole week of meetings and discussions. The main event was deciding who would reign in the deities when Zerofuku, the Spirit of the Seven Lucks, fell into his million-year slumber when the stars would align. Zerofuku himself commanded the meeting as his time approached. As he fell asleep, Sasuke, the Messenger Deity, wrote his final command.

“I demand YN, Lady Death, Goddess Izanami, to monitor the deities in the million slumber,” Sasuke read to the deities gathered in the room. “Her aide shall be Nobunaga, the God of Chaos and Shingen, the God of Fire.

The deities muttered and mumbled amongst themselves. Motonari, the God of Water spoke his stand aloud. "Has Zerofuku gone mad? How can he choose Lady Death when all of us, including herself, agreed that she is not to be involved?”

“Stand down, Motonari,” Kennyo, the God of the Forests called out. His low, chilling voice quelled the irate of the other gods, some of the lower deities standing down.

You took a deep breath. You didn’t know what Zerofuku was thinking of, but it left a bad taste in your mouth that your previous opinion was ignored. “As Izanami, I choose to overrule the command. I believe I am not prepared to take on such a role,” You replied, noticing how the lower deities cowered at your voice. It was understandable. You were Lady Death after all… “Even if I was, I do not think I could execute it well. Masamune is a better option, as he already rules the skies that we gather in.”

“I do not think I am fit to be leader as well,” the man in question spoke up. “As the Sky God, I cannot manage the Heavens whilst I pull the sky. Therefore I must offer it to Ieyasu or Shingen as the leader.

The God of Medicine had his blonde hair stuck in the talismans he was writing, only to lift it upon the mention of his name. "As if I’d go with your suggestions, Masamune,” He huffed, setting down his brush. “I’d hate to look over Mitsunari, and Hideyoshi is his unofficial caretaker despite him having a similar job to you.”

Shingen, the God of Fire, laid back into his arm rest, a bowl of sweets near him. “I could possibly not bear the responsibility… My shrine is full of fair maidens who wish to be blessed by my hot bod-”

The deities didn’t bat an eye when Yukimura, the God of Beasts drew his Roaring Spear to smack Shingen up the head. The discussions continued, but the room was then divided in three. The first faction of those who believe Nobunaga, the God of Chaos should rule instead of you. The second consisted of those who believe in Kenshin as the God of War was known for living by the sword, worshipping the sword and dying by sword.

Not that he could die anyway…

The final of the deities rooted for Zerofuku’s original plan, believing it was the best of both sides, however others had ulterior motives for it, such as the God of the Water and Seas, Motonari.

“Why endorse in me, God of the Seas?” You asked plainly, going around the deities who supported you for their reasons. You hoped their reasonings would give you courage to say the least, or make up your mind…

The God of the Seas, whose skin always glistened with the seawater he ruled over, took another swig of his sake. “Frankly, I wouldn’t like to see Nobunaga or Kenshin win,” He said, leaning into you. “But I wouldn’t mind if you punished me, Lady Izanami~”

“Enough of that,” The God of Time and Wealth, Kichou snapped. “I think it’s clear enough that we don’t trust the other two as much we trust you, Lady Death.”

“I chose the one who’d least likely harm my forests,” Kennyo justified.

By Kichou and Kennyo’s statements, the room went in uproar over their sly insults. Some had called upon their familiars, while others resorted to their blades. You were sure that Zerofuku did not want to wake up to a destroyed heaven, so you were quick to pick up your scythe to silence the other deities.

“Stand down.”

Your chilling voice brought a deadly silence in the air. For as much bloodlust they carried, they were well aware of the rules to not make you angry, for the position you hold is of utmost importance.

The tanuki messenger god, Sasuke, is forever running around the plains of Japan, hidden from the sights of humans. As the watcher of the gods, he is not meant to say what his opinion is, only to convey those of others. It was a surprise to the other deities that it was the first time that he spoke an opinion of his own.

“I believe this is why Zerofuku chose you, Lady Death.”

You glanced around the room, seeing the gods in their place once more.

In your place, with your kimono folded underneath you, you raised your voice once more.

“I accept, on the condition a deity escorts me out of the Underworld.”

~○~

The God of War for once did not draw his sword at the gathering as he always did, instead finding himself staring at Lady YN, although he’s forbidden for ever calling her that. Their relationship was complicated, to say the least. Kenshin never once had any personal conflicts with the Deity of Death, however with their work, it was easy to see how they were connected yet so different.

In his hand, the bitter sake stilled as he reminisced about the time he saw Lady Death. Yet another demon rampaged against the humans, leading Kenshin to slay it in its wake. As the body of the demon laid dead at his feet, she appeared.

He knew she was a goddess, with the way she wielded her weapon and her otherworldly appearance. The hood of her haori hid most of her appearance, although it was unbeknownst to Kenshin if she could see him since it reached down to her chin. Across the battlefield from each other, with bodies of fallen warriors and demon spirits, yet he was only enchanted by her, and the way she swung her scythe.

The souls were dancing around her, both human and demon as they descended into the crack in the ground she came from. Not a glance was spared to him, but a glimmer faded from her. He did not dare to disturb Lady Death at her duties, only to observe her safety as she does her duty.

It was poetic in the way that his job was to send her passing of the souls through his blade, and she is the one to receive it. By Zerofuku’s decree, they are to never cross weapons as they share the connection of the souls. Lately, with the demons he’d slay, he’d present their bodies neatly not for out of their respect, but out of respect for you.

Several memories of his often gazing to you always left his heart beating, and it wasn’t the adrenaline that lit up his veins. At times, Kenshin tried to approach you gently, to let you know the deity behind the sword he lives by, and yet the missed opportunities pile up, with his and your duties busier but intertwining.

He often has no time to write, nor leave crafted gifts, hence the God of War began to leave the stray wild flowers in a bouquet on the noblest warrior’s body as for you to see when you collect the warrior’s soul.

Many a times the God of Poetry and Luck, Yoshimoto, would chide him in his dishonesty towards you. It was the very situation as Kenshin drinks his sake in peace in front of the God who was busying himself with his talismans. Kenshin himself seldom had many talismans to write, except to the ones of his shrine as his divine decree. Unlike the other deities, for being a superior deity of the council, he has the fewest shrines, only one to his name.

The Poetry deity sitting across from him had several, hence his brush was as quick as his tongue while he advises the fellow god. “You desire her so Kenshin, yet as the God of Conquest you have not lain a siege on her,” Yoshimoto joked, as Kenshin was always enthusiastic with his conquests.

“I’d regard you and Motonari swapped with the way you addressed Lady Izanami,” Kenshin glared at the God, who’s calligraphy never faltered despite the threatening tone of the War deity. “It is not rightful of me to demand such a thing, not with the burden Zerofuku placed on her.”

Another deity arrived to their conversation. One befitting Kenshin’s situation, none other the God of Emotions and Spirits, Ranmaru, who phased through the sliding doors instead of opening them. Ranmaru arrived at Yoshimoto’s call however, as a decree between the two gods had to be made of the connection between love and luck.

“As you are here Ranmaru, you are best to advise Kenshin upon the situation he’s in,” Yoshimoto quipped, dipping his brush in the ink once more.

The expressive deity jumped for joy at the suggestion, almost teasing the conquest deity. “I’d agree even if you offered nothing, Kenshin. You’ve been a deity I’d been dying to get my hands on!”

“We cannot die, Spirit God,” Kenshin corrected, confused as to what the god meant.

“You’re no fun,” Ranmaru pouted, his fingers going through Kenshin’s forehead as he ‘flicked’ his forehead. “The real issue is that you’re no where closer to her than you were thousands of years ago, Conquest God.”

Yoshimoto, who took a quick tea break, nearly coughed out his tea at Ranmaru’s brutal honesty. “I doubt the Medicine God could heal the emotional damage from that…”

Ranmaru went on anyway, his hands reaching for a peach slice at the tea table. “As someone who works closely with Lady YN, he could easily befriend her.”

Kenshin was silenced by Ranmaru’s truthful remarks. He hummed, taking another cup of sake down his throat, the burning feeling coming from the want to confession and not the alcohol.

“You could be her escort, Kenshin.”

He glanced up at the Fire God, who’s presence made the room’s temperature rise. His close relative Yoshimoto had invited him too, but from the smirk Shingen carried, Kenshin assumed that he’d been listening in long ago.

The Fire God reached for the sweet buns next to the peaches by the tea table. “You have an excuse, as Ranmaru said. You both are close with each other, and although Sasuke is the most favourable, the Messenger God as all gods can tire,” He went on, offering a plate of pickled plums to the War God.

Ranmaru chipped in once more, “And you may not know, but she might be willing to be close to you too…”

Kenshin huffed, despising the gods who meddled with his business, taking his sword out to polish it. Yet, he contemplates on the suggestion, writing his submission late into the night.

Before he sends the message by the heavenly winds, he went to the battlefield he and you last touched, gathering the remaining bunches of wild flowers to seal his holy decree of his request, to be an escort befitting of the Deity of Death.
