Biography -

As a Dark Soul, Torque was thrown out of his safe environment and had to live on his own. He was seen and scanned by a Lath Magician, who called after him. By the time he arrived home, he wasn’t welcome anymore, and had to flee the world that he had known for five years. For nine years, he lived in Gadashoven, a Human city, under the watchful eyes of some thieves, until he discovered his magic and learned to go around with it as the Magicians of the old ages did. While getting older as a Human he got physically better, though his appearance aged faster. He was a thief for more than ten years after that, being able to walk through walls, and steal whatever he was able to lift. No one though suspected that he was a Magician, let alone a Dark Soul. Arrogant as he was, he was still afraid of being found by the same people that destroyed his childhood, hating them and the Goodlands with all his soul. Besides stealing, Torque assassinated Knights in their beds when people weren’t watching, and they blamed the DracoMancers for it.
He was caught one day, and set to burn at the stake, but Mancers rescued him. Ream Toalk found him when she was on a mission to join other Lath Magicians at their hideout, and noticed him sneaking past her as he was being followed and later caught by soldiers. He joined the DracoMancers as one of the strongest Magicians, able to manipulate stone to a far greater extent than most Ground Magicians. His techniques are different, his style as well, which is why Varamadras wants him to teach the younger Mancers how to do it as well. He never noticed how strong he was in reality until he fought the Elite a couple of times, almost having defeated Varamadras, and winning every single practice against others. That irritated Loriente Seasel the most.

Personality -

He’s secretly in love with Lehain, who at times seems to be his opposite. He’s a cunning and brave lad, holding different opinions from most and believing much more in his abilities than Varamadras does. He’s arrogant, willing to believe that because of his Phase One Magic, he can do much more than others. Having reached Phase One means that Torque can use his Magical abilities to a greater extent than most. Like Dynas Soaro, he has a good idea of how to properly irritate others, especially those who haven’t kept their distrust of him a secret. He doesn’t know what to think about Varamadras, the man is a miracle to him, but he doesn’t know if he should be glad or hateful towards him. It is his fault, after all, that the Dark Souls even exist, and that so many of them don’t have a life of their own.
Most Mancers still distrust him, having only accepted him because he seems not to be a threat. Even Varamadras has problems with his attitude. The only ones that see him as a friend are those that want to learn from him, Lehain Feadan and Dynas Soaro among them. He has mutual irritation issues with Loriente Seasel, who is always out to get him. Trying to convince a lot of people that he is the only magician in the world who knows how to get his magic to the first phase, he is friends with those who are most hungry to know his secret.

Connections -

Lehain Feadan ❖ Lehain has been Torque’s protégé for a long while, even if she isn’t officially supposed to learn from him, he wants her to be as good at Magic as he is. Foremost he believes no one is able to reach the level he has reached, but Torque feels a certain love for Lehain he can’t quiet describe yet. She is however one of his only friends among the Mancers.
Dynas Soaro ❖ While Dynas is a very good friend of Loriente – Torque’s rival – and actually a very annoying creature, the two of the meet eye to eye and even can be considered to be ‘friendly’. In truth of course, Dynas loves to make jokes about Torque’s attitude and always makes jokes about how the man will probably throw him off buildings if he ever found out.
Loriente Seasel ❖ Loriente hasn’t made it a secret that she dislikes him with her whole heart. From the moment he became a Groupleader she has been out there to make his life impossible. Whenever he suddenly gets an extra job or more paperwork, he knows she’s behind it. He believes she doesn’t think he’s allowed to even call himself a Mancer.
