#sewing
Hey i’m a fashion design student so i have tons and tons of pdfs and docs with basic sewing techniques, pattern how-tos, and resources for fabric and trims. I’ve compiled it all into a shareable folder for anyone who wants to look into sewing and making their own clothing. I’ll be adding to this folder whenever i come across new resources

Made a quick and dirty skull cup belt holster for Sunday Ren Faire trip.
I should see about getting a better version made after Faire
Skull cup by Trevor Foster
Got inspired by this video, but I don’t have ducks
I do have an incredibly chill dog who needs fashion. Maybe in two months I’ll do something about it…
Last second strawberry dress for a boysenberry festival. Cause I’m a rebel
Gotta attach sleeves, then the zipper/sew up the back, and finally hem it!!
My current viking look and the medieval feast :D
In spite of the weird recipes everything tasted pretty good. I made the bread plates and the far left pie-apple cheese pie- using Tasting History’s recipes on YouTube.
***beware that the recipe in the description is wrong for the bread plate. Video said 2 cups of water, not 2.5. It’s okay as you can add flour until it’s more dough like but it’s annoying. But weirdly that loaf did turn out better than my first so idk…
Finally got around to making my Ye olde tote bag. Which will make it sooooo much easier to carry my phone and things like my drinking horn stand.
Made this in between baking bread for the medieval feast :D
I didn’t use my ruffle foot for my last project cause it’s not compatible with my main sewing machine (inherited)… BUT I COULD HAVE DONE THIS INSTEAD??? UGH
okay I’m gonna fish out some gauze n make another tiered skirt.
That feel when you want maxi skirts but I guess it’s not maxi skirt season??????
Saw 4 colors at Old Navy and 3 colors at Target, but that’s it. They weren’t expensive but too much money for a skirt I’m not 100% on.
Taking this shit into my own hands fuck
Bottom two will probably be what I make first, as I won’t require a pattern. The tiered skirt is just math and the pleated skirt is where I can test out my pleater board*u*
Just needs to be hemmed!!
Might add patch pockets later.

Sewing has taken over my brain lately, which is nice! It’s been awhile anf I’m quite happy with what I’ve had going here
I highly recommend trying out mending your own clothes when they have holes or tears. Even if you’re totally new to sewing and mending and not skilled at it yet, it genuinely changes how you feel about your clothes. Just trying to darn a small hole in an old tshirt, or trying your best to tidily sew it shut will make it go from being just a shirt you own, to being something you’re maybe a bit proud of. If you do visible mending, it’ll also make whatever you fix up into something unique. It’s a nice feeling.
It really is!
Mending your clothes allows you to take a step back from the mass production and planned obsolescence that rule the fashion industry, and to regain agency over your wardrobe.
When you mend something, you truly make it yourown. That t-shirt may have been produced thousands of times, but the one you own is uniquebecause you’ve infused it with a bit of yourself. That’s something to be proud of, regardless of your skill level!
