After a long hiatus of other projects, artists are coming back together to deliver a new Dune zine for Shortrun2015!
FishSpeakers is a Science Fiction Fanzine based around Frank Herbert’s Dune and the classic novels. The title comes from the All-female army from God-Emperor of Dune. The goal is to inspire people into the Dune-Universe with Art, Fiction, Articles and Reviews and let people express their passion for the various forms of media that have come out of Dune.
It will include a new religious tract of the glorious life of the Muad’Dib as well as many other amazing works we will be showcasing in the next few weeks.
We are also re-opening submissions for the next few weeks for anyone who wants to contribute.
The Cut-Off date for submissions this year will be OCTOBER 11TH.
3 WEEKS TO MAKE THE BEST DUNE CONTENT POSSIBLE!
The book will be printed at 5½” x 8½” (Half-Page size), if you have contributions, be sure to check to make sure your work will look good in that format!
It will be in traditional black and white, so adjust styles accordingly!

I always imagined the sandworms as huge magical beasts when I first read the book as a kid and not super-upscaled intestinal worms, like what they looked like in most visual interpretations in the past. It’s been awhile since I’ve drawn anything DUNE related and realized last night that it’s been almost two years since Miles and I made To Train The Faithful.
So I drew my boy Paul because I missed him. I love how the Stilsuits are ever changing when I come back and draw the. I wish I had more time and would redesign them, would love to make them more organic looking. Also I couldn’t decide on what to have him say soooo yeah.
