This bastard can fly up to 300 km/h. They normally take off right before a trainer would find them, and give a distinctive “trololo” call. 

My hoothoot finally evolved in our pokemon campaign! HOOOOOOOT

“Yo! Loving the greenery of this place, there’s not quite as much of that where I’m from aside from a few spots. The name’s Matt, and I’m from Orre. I work at a place called a Pre-Gym, it’s kinda like this and other regions’ Gyms except, well, different. But the point still stands that I’m pretty good at battling. You’re here to see just how good, huh? Champion or no, I’m not holding back against anyone!”

More Battle Peak representatives! I’m tired of Orre being ignored by the main series games, so I decided to give the region some love. This (mostly) desert region is represented in the Battle Peak by Matt, a Pre-Gym member who has helped to rehabilitate former Shadow Pokemon and caring for them during trauma recovery. He’s got quite the knack for dealing with such Pokemon in a manner that is best for them, especially when some of them seem to relapse briefly. Unlike with Lian, I made Matt knowing full well there was already a canon Matt (notably the Team Aqua admin), but like I said with them, people are allowed to have the same name as one another in a fictional universe so large as Pokemon. Besides, Matt is such a common name anyway in the real world (or at least in English-speaking countries), why not in the Pokemon world? Especially in a region that’s based on somewhere in the US, like Orre?

Given that Battle Peak is a Battle Tower-esque setup, Matt’s team is slightly randomized depending on what battle conditions you have set. He will select either three (for single battles) or four (for double battles) from their “full” team of six. He will always include Skarmory on his team, and the rest of their team can include Hariyama, Ambipom, Altaria, Yanmega, or Absol.

…I have a small feeling that we may be seeing Matt again at some point. Sato too, definitely sooner than Matt. But maybe someday…we’ll see Matt again, this time on his home turf :3c

Since the Friend Safari was quite quiet, I decided to do some Pokéradar. 

Froufrou was caught during a chain of 40andRoselia… During a chain of 2. I also caught a shiny Skarmory on my White 2 while RE in the Friend Safari. (The photo was horribly blurry, so no picture and it’s unfortunately modest of nature uggh)

It’s me or after a shiny appears on chain 40, there’s nothing else that’ll shine after that? I even raised the chain to a whooping 70, stayed 2 hours, only resetting the Pokéradar, on 3 different hunts and nothing?
