I want this man to have his own show. I always loved animal shows when I was a kid. I feel like younger me would have LOVED this.
(now me also thinks it’s super neat!)

When’s the last time I featured the snapping turtle? Here he/she is, ready for dinner. In fact, the snapper now recognizes when food is coming, and there’s no hesitation once I drop it in.

i scooped up the gentleman while kayaking
today I learned one of the approved methods field researchers use to “muzzle” dangerous snapping turtles while weighing them:
Can confirm! We used the plunger on snapping turtles during medical treatment at the Wildlife Center.
My brother and his girlfriend were hiking in a state park in New York and they found this baby snapping turtle crossing their path.
