4 years ago we did this shoot with the arms I created and the silicone wounds I sculpted, I did all the painting and applying, my friend was kind enough to model for me. It was my final project for one of my sculpting or prosthetic classes and one of my favorite things I had created during my time at Savini High.

Took home $1000 the night of the Zombie ball last Halloween for my Groot. Fully sculpted foam face prosthetic and cowl. Full body suit with 7 inch platform boots… I can’t belive I tore the foam and painted over a months worth of work for that night… but I guess it was worth it! I wonder if I can use him a 3rd year in a row for this Halloween…

I’m so thankful for @mrrpmurphy ‘s @ahsfx for giving us representation through the incredible talent that is @angelicaross (third slide) while Angelica Ross is trans, she plays a character who’s gender is irrelevant and who also happens to be half alien. While I could make many analogies here, I love seeing a trans person play a sci-fi character who’s probably assumed to be cis (not trans) by the general public. While her character could be trans, it doesn’t matter; that’s not part of the plot. I want to see more trans talent in all genres playing all kinds of characters not just characters who’s trans identities are the struggle/ plot of the story.
