I am so happy to say that my Kickstarter campaign for Standard Cameras was successfully funded only 6 days in! There is still plenty of time to pledge for a sweet large format camera that you build yourself though! :) I would deeply appreciate it if you took some time to have a look, share it with your friends, and maybe support the cause? check it out at http://4X5.XYZ
Hey everybody - My kickstarter campaign for Standard Cameras is live! Please have a look if you’re interested in large format photography, and maybe share it around? :)
New work. I made these using a Standard 4x5 prototype. The same one I shared photographs of a while ago. I’m happy to say that the kickstarter for Standard Cameras officially launches on July 16th at 10:00am EST! If you want to pick up a camera, that’s the place to do it! www.standardcameras.com has the official countdown :)
Some views of the latest Standard 4x5 prototype. We’ve found a better source for the nylon in a darker grey, the aluminum is now anodized, and some other features have been improved/added! www.standardcameras.com
If you want to get your hands on one of these totes, they will be available on my forthcoming Kickstarter campaign for Standard Cameras. There are more images on Instagram over at @standardcameras. If you want to know when the campaign will launch, follow me over there or sign up for the mailing list!
A little ground glass comparison. This is a pretty rough test, but I positioned my Shen Hao next to my Standard 4x5 and used the same lens, wide open. I photographed the back of each camera using the same settings on my Nikon d7000 - iso 200, F5.6, 1/60. There is, according to my eye and the data, no significant difference in brightness or quality between the two.
Tune into twitch.tv/nikono to hang out with me live in the studio editing photos, working on Localhost / Standard Cameras, and more! Streaming once or twice a week for now, so give me a follow to get notified when I go live! :)
