El Chupacabra(fromchupar “to suck” and cabra “goat”, literally “goat sucker”) is a legendary cryptid rumored to inhabit parts of the Americas, with the first sightings reported in Puerto Rico. The name comes from the animal’s reported habit of attacking and drinking the blood of livestock, especially goats.

Physical descriptions of the creature vary. It is purportedly a heavy creature, the size of a small bear, with a row of spines reaching from the neck to the base of the tail.

Fun bit of trivia, it is believed that Terror Birds hunted by grabbing their prey in their claws, and repeatedly smashing it into the ground. This one is far too small and far too dead to hunt, but it’ll still look good on a shelf.

I am so happy to say that my Kickstarter campaign for Standard Cameras was successfully funded only 6 days in! There is still plenty of time to pledge for a sweet large format camera that you build yourself though! :) I would deeply appreciate it if you took some time to have a look, share it with your friends, and maybe support the cause? check it out at http://4X5.XYZ

Miniature fursuit head base! This was a test for a full size one, I had a lot of trouble removing the support material cuz idk what I’m doing, but man it’s just so surreal seeing one of my models come to life?? I love that this would fit on a doll.

Back around April, I 3D modeled & printed parts with the plan that I’d make a little diorama of Caleb’s tower. I tried to scale the parts to match the minis and based the design on my previous orthographic. Several months later and I finally got around to painting & assembling them so I could make a little light up shelf display out of the figurine set packaging. :D

(EDIT SEPT-08: added a daytime photo of the diorama w/out the backlighting turned on)

I decided to spend the week building myself a grappling hook. It’s been one of my dream projects for years to build H.G. Wells’ grappler from Warehouse 13 so I’m unbelievably happy to share the final result.

It’s life size, screen accurate, the end extends for the hooks to open/close and with the exception of some screws it’s fully 3D printed (FDM and resin). Also, I didn’t know I had it in me to 3D model something so complex until this week

Jurassic top predator Arkhane is the special guest at the Museum of Natural Sciences in Brussels. Nanosaurus probably was its late-night snack. Fossils of this small herbivorous dinosaur are rare, especially skulls. Watch how we reconstructed a squashed Nanosaurus skull!

Just finished the inverse kinematics of my 3D printed delta robot. Now it goes up and makes one circle before going back to the start position…

Manually testing the delta robot mechanics. The next step is to mount the stepper motors and write some inverse kinematics code…
