I don’t understand chemical kinetics at all. Finals is in 2 days, and we still have 1 chapter left. I don’t even know how I will survive this quarter. T.T

2019.08.18

I started learning French by using Duolingo. French is a very interesting language for me. The pronounciations are very hard, but with practice, I hope I could sound better.

2019.08.14

I have a love and hate relationship with lab. I love experimenting but I always have a hard time doing the lab reports.

2019.08.07

Just spent a very overwhelming 2 and a half hours on my chemistry lab report. I have a chemistry exam tomorrow and to be honest I am not ready for it. T.T

08.01.2019

Guess who is freaking out because the college sent out an email that UC applications for fall 2020 is now open? Me. I then just frantically search for like every single university I thought of and the application deadlines. I am 15 years old I am not supposed to suffer like this…

07.31.2019

I am so horrible at related rates. I hope I am done with this soon.

07.30.2019

Today is super busy. There are 3 math homeworks due tomorrow, a lab report and prelab. Should’ve known better and started doing it since last week but procrastination is bae‍♀️

07.25.2019

I love learning about history but everytime I start reading my history textbook I start to feel sleepy. The power of textbook, I guess…

07.23.2019

Today I am surprisingly productive! Studied math for a quiz tomorrow and done math homeworks that are due in two weeks. Also made notes for chemistry chapter 9. What is wrong with me?

07.17.2019

I had chemistry lab today, and being the clumsy person I am I decided to spill sulfuric acid all over my hand -_- Thank goodness it is fine. Tomorrow I have chemistry exam and it is the first exam of the quarter! I really want to do well that’s why I am having late night reviews. Hope for the best tomorrow!

07.08.2019

So much things to do…. A little break would be nice.

07.07.2019

Calculus review.

First day of summer class

07.01.2019

Hope I can finish all my chemistry notes by today.

06.25.2019

09.25.2019

I am back! Hopefully this fall quarter will be a good quarter. I am trying to focus more on independent studying and hopefully it will bring good results. First week is never fun, my hands are constantly shaking. I hope I will get used to it and enjoy this quarter.

08.27.2019

I haven’t posted in quite a while. I am currently on summer break so there will be no notes on school stuff. There will still occasionally be some notes for french, though!

2019.08.20

French part two! So far my progress is okay. Hopefully I can be fluent soon (which is still a long way to go). Hope I can be consistent with my self-study schedule.

Study thoughts ~Mandarin language~

7th April 2021

Changes~? ✨

I feel like it’s a huge day for me, a huge mental change. Studying Mandarin feels different, but I don’t know how to explain, how to name these feelings I have… and this motivation that came to me like from nowhere? Gosh. It’s amazing.

Maybe it’s the reason why I am improving, understand way more than one year ago, that I am about to finish the intermediate book, that I can understand lots of vlogs without subtitles, I can read Chinese social media and don’t freak out…

Or maybe it was that dream I got? That I was dreaming about buying tickets to China… I have no idea. Hope this feeling will stay with me for a long time and that I will never cry again about my crappy Mandarin.

Send you some positive energy, folks! ✨

谢谢大家!爱你们!

Last week I said I would concentrate on grammar because I didn’t feel like reading my manga, so obviously I did the exact opposite! I did study some grammar, but it’s all in my drafts because the posts are missing a few things that I haven’t been feeling like adding yet… BUT! I actually finished reading Shitasaki ni Yoake no Aji, yoohoo!! It wasn’t such a hard read, although I kinda struggled with all the shop managing vocabulary and such. One thing this taught me is that I’m actually super good at understanding casual / ‘colloquial’ Japanese, so that’s nice. I’ll be starting a new manga today, from what I saw it seems easier to read so it shouldn’t take as much time for me to go through as this first one did (hopefully!).

I started Lesson 11 on WaniKani a few days ago. There are still things I’m struggling with but overall it’s going pretty smoothly. I’m quite behind on updating my kanji cards, I hope I’ll be able to do a lot this coming week but my laptop is being a real pain these days so I don’t know how much I’ll be able to do.

I’ve started reading short articles in Japanese. I’m using the app Easy Japanese News by Mobile Learning; it’s super easy to use, you can choose articles depending on their difficulty, it shows the JLPT level for vocabulary words, and you can also watch videos. I’m not using premium yet but I think I will buy it if I keep using the app. I’ve also started using a task management app (Tusk by ULSoft). I’ve only been using it for a couple days but it’s helping me a lot in organizing my study time. I’ve been looking for an app that can track the time I spend studying with a timer or something but I haven’t found one that I like yet (I’d like something like Study Bunny but with a more ‘classy’ look or something).

Something I’d like to work on eventually is business Japanese, or something of the sort. Since I’m aiming to become a translator, I’d like to study more professional stuff so it can help in my future job etc… I’m not really sure where to find resources for that though.

So yeah, that’s one more week of studying done. I feel like time is going too fast and I can never do everything I want in a single day, but oh well… here’s to another week!

A very productive week compared to the ones before, pretty heavy content-wise. I uploaded a lot of vocabulary lists and uploaded and updated a few kanji cards. I also started working on some grammar, I’ll be posting that in the coming days.

I am currently halfway through lesson 10 on WaniKani and I think I’ll be spending a little more time on the kanji lessons from now on. I’ve already studied 348 kanji on the platform so far and it seems that’s as far as I can breeze through without forgetting basic stuff or mixing up different kanji. I’ve actually done a lot more than I originally thought before reaching this point, but still, I’ll have to put extra effort on kanji from now on.

As for grammar, I’ll be really focusing on it this week. I’ve uploaded the vocab lists for all ten lessons in my first grammar book, so that’ll be quite a bit to catch up on. I’ve looked through the vocab in my second grammar book as well but it’s organized a little differently so it’s gonna take a little more time to make lists, they should come little by little (I already have some almost finished in my drafts!).

It seems I kind of gave up manga reading… The book’s been sitting next to my laptop for days and I can’t seem to bring myself to pick it up again. I’m not sure when I’ll get back to it. On another note, I kind of feel like watching anime again, so I’ll look for something that catches my eyes and try to focus more on that this week.

Overall a pretty good week, I’m feeling pretty optimistic about the upcoming one, let’s keep up the good work!
