During this absence I was going through many things that consumed my time or I didnt want to do much BUT, I already returned and I hope to be more frequent with this because I really miss drawing.
So, here is a High School Mystery! AU because I love them, and I hope this doesn’t end forgotten like my other AUs, which I hope to continue even with just sketches.
Finally finished this monster (wink wink) of a piece, a tribute to Supernatural (although I know we missed out on a bunch of characters—maybe for another piece! Haha) Patreon commission for @shymeg . I’ve been watching SPN since the very beginning, so it was super nostalgic to go back and rewatch all 15 seasons in preparation for this. Whether or not you agree with how it all ended, I’m glad they ended on their terms, and not because of a cancellation (because man, it was on the bubble almost every year). Carry on, wayward peeps.

We start off with blues and gradually the panels get brighter until we get sunrise/sunset colors. The scenes are also like rooms in a diorama, with Chuck-God as the puppet master.
Panel 2: At Harvelle’s Roadhouse, the hunter bar. Jo and Dean in one corner, Ash on his computer, Sam and Bobby drinking at the bar, Ellen running things.
Easter eggs in this panel—Jukebox playing “Simple Man”, stickers of “Jerk” and “Bitch”, “Family Don’t End With Blood” on the wall, Route 66 sign, and September 13 on the calendar. I threw in an “idjit” sticker too haha

Panel 3: At the Men of Letters bunker. Warding on the walls. Demon Dean looking on. Castiel. Crowley. Rowena. A spell in the works. Charlie doing her thing on the computer. Sheriff Jodi Mills with a shotgun. Lucifer Sam going through dad’s journal.
Easter eggs in this panel—Jerk and Bitch stickers again haha, the warding consists of not just warding but various symbols throughout the show, like the mark of Cain, angel repelling sign, etc.
Colors are more taupe and yellow and light as we move towards the final panel
Panel 4: Sam and Dean and Baby on the road. Carry On Wayward Son is the soundtrack. Iconic family motto as they drive on.
Colors are bright and sunny, either sunrise or sunset. The road extends beyond the “diorama” house, with some light spilling out (you can see it in the full piece)
Outside the diorama: Chuck-God the puppet master, Amara looming behind him in shadow, and Jack the Nephilim coming closer to defeat God

I’m near the finish line for the new (gigantic) chapter ofFamily Secrets (it’s my longest update yet). I’m publishing this week, hopefully before the weekend but realistically, it’ll probably happen during the weekend. I’m sharing in this post all the art that I’ve commissioned specifically for Family Secrets in 2019 and this year, and that was drawn beautifully and gorgeously (and with so much heart) by Blind Sominium or Sam, so I can link to them from AO3.
These art pieces will appear throughout the new chapter on AO3. Some of them are conceptual, on theme with the Lupercalia – with Dean’s sketches channeling the god Faunus and Sam’s channeling Pan to symbolize the Greek and Roman gods honored at the Lupercalia festival, hence the horns. (Remember that in “Family Secrets” the Campbells and the Winchesters are both traditional but follow different denominations that are rooted in different mythologies).
If you’ve read Family Secrets, you know this is all symbolic. The story is not fantasy per se and there are no “creatures” in the story (it’s not a creature-fic!). The ancient god motifs present in the Lupercalia are used for inspiration and to signify different spiritual beliefs and traditions within the AU world of FS, but it’s all surface stuff – no different than Mardi Gras being a festival that precedes Lent but that still has balls and floats that honor Bacchus, the Greek god of wine. The Lupercalia is just a tiny step above that in the sense that the coming-of-age festival is less rooted in Christianity and is rather built around ancient Greek and Roman mythologies that are at home with human nature as half beast and half man, both divine and earthly.
I hate adding watermarks on original artwork because it ruins the look, imo, and takes away from the experience. So please share courteously and consciously, within the parameters outlined below, honoring the artist through respecting their copyright.

We would love to have you join us to produce any kind of Sam-centric fic (we welcome any ships as well as fics with no ships at all; all we ask is that Sam be the central character).
We offer two lengths: a mini-bang (5k minimum) or big bang (15k minimum). You don’t have to commit to which one you’re doing until rough draft submission in July. Artists are expected to produce one piece for a mini bang or two pieces for a big.
Author rough drafts are due on 11 July, artist claims will happen on 16 July, and posting will start on 5 September. You can find a full timeline here and the bang rules here. We also have a dedicated Discord server for the bang and will be inviting all participants to join us there should they so wish. Any questions? Please feel free to ask them!
Here it is! The finished project of Jensen AcklesasSupernatural’s#DeanWinchester! I worked super hard on this, and a progression gif is coming up next. Still super heartbroken over the show ending. I’m gonna miss these guys so much.
