Ty Seagall,La Luz, and others brought their warm, sunny West Coast rock to Boston just in time for us to realize that summer’s ending and winter is on its way.

In the coming months, we’ll reminisce fondly on this show. Guaranteed.

The Long Gone Gulch original soundtrack by Kreeps is available NOW! https://tinyurl.com/wfyfcfd4

We knew we didn’t want “Long Gone Gulch” to have a traditional Western soundtrack, and then like destiny, we found the music of Kreeps! The score moves flawlessly through so many different styles: Electronica, jazz funk, horror synth, doo wop, and plenty of beautiful twangy surf rock! Like the classic cartoons of old, the music supports the character’s movements and in another sense, the music itself acts as its own character, giving a voice to the actual world of the Gulch. That is more than what we could have ever hoped for. Listening to this score severed from the actual cartoon is a completely different and satisfying experience on its own. We hope you all enjoy the visceral and energetic music of Kreeps!

Digital download contains 27 tracks and music cues from the show and Long Gone Gulch theme Wallpapers for mobile and desktop

Teen Mom - “I Wanna Go Out”

I’m not sure what it is with bands from Washington DC but they sure know how to pick some awesome names. First there’s Shark Week and now Teen Mom? They’re great! Teen Mom is a three piece that blends laid back, jangly surf rock with indie pop. “I Wanna Go Out” features a bit of shoegaze mixed into their sound, giving it a louder, fuzzier difference.

“I Wanna Go Out” is featured on Teen Mom’s upcoming six track EP Mean Tom. The album will be released via up and coming DC label Analog Edition Records and can be pre-ordered here

One of our favorite bands from the nation’s capital, Shark Week, are making their debut in Philadelphia on Monday night at Kung Fu Necktie for a Phonographic Arts show. Also on the bill are Puerto Rico’s Fantasmes, Glitter, Q Family Band and Dan Malloy. Show starts at 8pm.

For an idea of what to expect from the surf-rock meets bluesy-garage band, here’s a video of Shark Week performing “If You Want Me To Stay (For A While)” at their EP release show back in August.

I like beaches, bunnies are cute, and I would love to find myself my own dream boy to make googly eyes at. Perhaps that’s why I found myself clicking on Beach Bunny’s Dream Boy when I encountered it on YouTube the other day, and boy, was I grateful that I did. The Chicago based indie pop band, who recently announced their debut album Honeymoon, charmed me to no end with their surfy pop and punky rock on the crunchy infectious, jaunty rollicking tune. And they’ve served the single up with a great music video too, inspired by classic teen movies. Beach Bunny’s inaugural full length Honeymoon drops February 14th via Mom+Pop. An extensive tour both before its arrival and after includes a stop at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco on March 7th. If you’re new to Beach Bunny like we are, you’re probably ready to explore more of their music. Check out Adultingbelow, which comes from their recent EP Prom Queen, which can be streamed in full, here.

I’ve had to take a bit of a hiatus from music sharing, as you can obviously tell, but in the interim there has been a lot of can’t miss new music out, including some much heralded returns. In the interest of time, many of these forthcoming shares will be quick and short. Make sure you check out our Twitter (iheartmoosiq) since some shares are going straight onto Twitter in order to handle the sheer amount of music I’ve fallen for or eagerly discovered in the last several weeks. The first item that we can’t allow to slide by IHM is the endearing return of Best Coast, that beloved SoCal surf and sun pop/rock duo of Bethany Cosentino and Bobb Bruno whom the indie world adores. For The First Time is the pair’s first taste from a long awaited new album entitled Always Tomorrow, due out in 2020. Best Coast has also announced a full North American tour this winter with support from Mannequin Pussy. They’ll hit the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco on February 29th. Stream/download For The First Time, here, and fall for Best Coast all over again like you did that very first time at the start of this decade.

New Music Monday! We highlight new music from female-fronted bands every Monday.

This week is Bombón, a three-piece surf rock band out of San Pedro, California made up of Angela Ramos, Paloma Bañuelos, and Jerico Campbell. The song we’re featuring, “¡Xicanista!”, is an anthem to feminism and a celebration of the band’s roots—both Ramos and Bañuelos are Mexican Americans.

"There are lot of racist and sexist issues appearing on Trump’s campaign and we have never felt as motivated to stand up for our beliefs,” says Bañuelos.

Watch the buzzy, fun, anthem "¡Xicanista!” here
