I wanted to use this scene of “Swing kids” to illustrate a specific feeling, so please don’t take the phrase too much to heart, it is mine.

Based on a deliciously achieved frame of “Swing kids”, directed by Kang Hyeong-cheol.

Ro Kisoo is a boy who puts on a defiant face to slowly fulfill his dream. In that case, we’ll see a new side of actor Do Kyungsoo, as Ro Kisoo is a bit different from his other characters, most of whom are slightly gloomier.
I want to carry him everywhere while going ‘our Kyungsoo, our Kyungsoo’ (laughs). Sometimes I see actors as born for a movie, that no one else could do but them. That’s him, this time. While filming together, I saw that despite his young age, he is grounded and has wonderful values.

Him being an idol who performs on stages might help with acting out the tap-dancing. Was this on your mind during casting?
I hadn’t known that he was a main vocal in EXO. (laughs) Tap-dancing is another form of dance, so it’s a bit different. Even still, he picked it up quickly because he has a knack for learning movements. He can pull off higher levels [of tap-dancing] without a stand-in.

“western military movie” is literally the worst genre of film in existence

I want to make it 100% clear this is me expressing my deep seated hatred for the military propaganda movies that the west continues to pump out. literally every movie where some white military guys are in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, etc., I hate them all. Every narrative where it’s like “oh, he felt bad about killing the people there” I genuinely could not hate more. It’s always some flavor of “this poor Brown/Black kid dies :[ and they feel really bad about it :[ but they had to do it to stop suicide bombers :[” or “the white MC realizes that war is WRONG in the middle of the movie and it’s only then that he actually views the people (always poc) he’s killing as human”. Ohhhh they feel SO bad about killing these people, and we’re supposed to sympathize with them even as they continue to kill in the name of the West’s imperialism. I hope every director who continues to put this shit out burns.

in lieu of top gun coming out, tapping the sign again and reminding y'all that it’s literally just military propaganda for the US to continue its imperialism n I hope every director who continues to push this shit out—along with the military that sanctions it—burns.

At first I was like “cowboys going to war?
