LIVE

I heard Ned’s voice and immediately started sobbing

You know I never saw Duck/Minerva coming but honestly I can get behind it

This went in a direction I did not at all expect and I love it

Listening to episodes 28-31 all in a row was a bit of an emotional whiplash because on one hand they had some of the most emotional moments in all of amnesty and the highest stakes but on the other hand some of the best goofs. I went from just crying to crying laughing in such a short time.

I haven’t been keeping up with amnesty since the episode where “Ned” made the announcement on TV so I downloaded them all to listen to on my flight tomorrow.

I am mildly terrified.

A lot happened in the new amnesty episode but the moment that really got to me was when Ned tried to exchange literally everything else he owned, even his new truck, in order to keep Mama’s statue and the pendant because he knew that these items were important to his friends. Ned cares so much and would sacrifice so much for the people he cares about. His character has really grown on me so much and this moment just made me want to cry because it shows just how much he cares.

Ok so on the new amnesty episode… it seems like the abomination possessed Dani, because she said she couldn’t remember anything during the time when the attack happened, she just woke up afterwards elsewhere with the book. But then in the morgue with Gregor they saw his actual dead body after interacting with what was almost certainly the monster disguised as Gregor. So is it possessing people, or shapeshifting, or both? Or something else entirely?

That’s possible, though that leads me to wonder why they would only knock out Dani, but kill Gregor. And another thing that just occurred to me is that he was mangled the same way as the other victims, even though it happened at a different time, which makes it more likely that this isn’t possession, so I think that you might be right that this is just the monster taking on their appearance.

And honestly I am terrified for Ned. I have no idea what that eye was but it can’t be anything good.

@thevoidsflame I HATE WHAT THIS IS IMPLYING BUT IT MAKES A LOT OF SENSE TOO AND NOW I’M TERRIFIED FOR DANI

Maybe it knocked Dani out but killed Gregor because it’s trying to frame residents of Amnesty Lodge? Everything it’s done has seemed pretty calculated so far like leaving Hollis alive to go to the gate. Or it could have something to do with Dani having the spellbook? Especially since it seemed to follow the Pine Guard to the morgue once Aubrey had taken the book from her

That’s true, it does seem to calculate everything. And you’re right that the spellbook has got to be important somehow. It also seems to know a lot about the people at amnesty lodge and everything they’re doing, which might actually also have something to do with the eye thing now that I think about it, so it makes sense that it would be doing this to frame Dani.

This abomination seems to be so much smarter than the others but no less eager to do harm and kill and that’s honestly a terrifying combination.

Since there’s a new episode coming up

So this is relevant again huh.

Been a year since this became painfully relevant again. Still not over it.

Looking back over the taz amnesty fics I’ve written, I’ve noticed that while I use Thacker in a lot of fics because having a guy possessed by an alien goddess hidden away in the Lodge basement leads to some really interesting scenarios, I never actually … Resolve Thacker’s whole deal.

Like if at the end of all my fics there was a Dreamworks dance sequence where they show the audience that all the side characters they saw are all doing okay, without fail there would be a scene where the music gets muffled as it cuts to a shot of Thacker still chilling in the basement because I couldn’t figure out how to yeet the Quell out of him before the story ended

Two posts in one day?? WILD but this scene made me so emotional so of course I had to draw something

Chosen Ones have each other’s backs…literally

Okay but like, the next episode is gonna be just Aubrey/Duck playing until the last five minutes when griffin’s like “Ned. You’re in a room. And it seems to be made of nothing but light” and Ned’s gonna be in the light world or some buckwild stuff

Thoughts about the TAZ episode
-Griffin wtf
-Fullmetal Alchemist vibes
-That music tho
-Hollis had better be okay
-I’m honestly living for the fact that Jake doesn’t have a drivers license, like I want a side story where Aubrey and Dani teach him how to drive
-Where the hell is Dani Griffin I swear
-THAT MUSIC THO
-The Aubrey/Ned scene….like…wow
-….Ned cares about Aubrey enough to respect her wishes, even if it means he has to leave
-I’m so shook I’m crying
-Kinda spooky
-MINERVA CAME BACK AND I DID A BIG YELL
-if griffin kills billy i RIOT

Comic N-057 “Forging Friendships”

The Adventure Zone started a new season called Amnesty and lemme tell you about Ned: he’s my favorite.

[comic description under readmore]

[image description start! A colored seven panel comic featuring the pine guard - Duck Newton, a pudgy round faced light-skinned older guy in tee shirt and khakis, Aubrey Little, a red mohawked, many facial piercing’d human with dark skin and wearing a denim vest over a yellow shirt and rainbow striped black leggings, and Ned Chicane, a large light haired and skinned older man with a beard wearing a suit, pink scarf and glasses - and Billy, currently looking like Ryan Gosling (hopefully) with messy hair.

Panel one, shows a close up of Billy’s hand gripping a marker having finished writing two rows of “y”. Appropriately Ned speaks over saying, “-And that, my friend, is how you do the letter y.” He continues speaking into the next panel, “Now let’s try using it in a word, Billy.” Here, Aubrey smiles as she looks over at Ned and Billy with stars around him, hunched over a table together.

Panel three, cuts to Aubrey sitting on a counter leaning over to speak to Duck who is also watching this with a fond smile. Aubrey says, “It’s pretty cool Ned’s stepped up to teach Billy, y’know?” Duck nods. Panel four, Duck grins as he says, “Yeah I admit - He’s a bit rough around the edges but Ned’s a good guy when it gets down to it-” Panel five, shows Ned holding up Billy’s paper as he says, “Now Billy this isa good first attempt but remember: his y’s are longer than this!”

Panel six, cuts back again to a close up of Duck (and Aubrey leaning over to hear Duck’s whispering, “Wait a second. Ohgotdang it Ned.” Panel seven, Duck walks over to the two at the table and says, “Stop teaching Billy to forge Ryan Gosling’s autograph, Ned!” Ned is half turned back to Duck while Billy has stood up to lean over Ned to look at Duck (yelling happily, “Duck!”). Ned says, “What! I just feel if he’s staying he should earn his keep!” End description.]
