Hey so here’s my The Adventure Zone Amnesty video, finally! Big thanks to the whole McElroy family for all the inspiration over the years. Hope y’all enjoy!

My life has been crazy hectic recently so I didn’t think I was gonna be able to draw something for last week’s Adventure Zone episode before the next one came out. But then I did anyways

The drawing for last week’s Adventure Zone took so long because at first I was just gonna draw this first image, but then I came up with the concept of turning the Tres Horny Boys into pokemon starters so I had to do that too.

I made them all the animal masks they had for Petals to the Metal. So Merle’s an owl, and obviously the Grass-type. Merowl, Highperch, and Flownatruth. While incapable of flight, their close connection with nature has granted them the Fairy typing.

Magnus is the Fire-type. I mean he even has “burn” in his last name. Magnursa, Bearnsides, and Rushesinferno. Their rowdy behavior grants the Fighting typing. They use the whetstone-like features on their chest to sharpen their axe-claws, which they use to fell trees.

And that leaves Taako with the Water-type. I mean, he does have an umbrella. Taakumbra, Swumteevee, and Abracamongoose. They channel mystical energy through their tail, granting them the Psychic typing. They can manipulate the water that collects on their hat.

This was actually a lot of fun to come up with, and good practice for studying the pokemon art style. Definitely gave me a better handle on how they do their shading and whatnot

(I also wanted to try my hand at the pokemon art style. Still needs work, but a fun experiment!)

Our first Amnesty NPC for my hypothetical Adventure Zone platform fighter, Minerva! Let’s dig

Our first Amnesty NPC for my hypothetical Adventure Zone platform fighter, Minerva! Let’s dig into her moveset, shall we?

Minerva is, without a doubt, one of the heaviest hitters in the roster. Her main drawback is her fairly low speed, but if you manage to master her special moves, even this can be overcome.

Most of Minerva’s specials rely on her neutral special. Pressing the button places a portal wherever she is. Pressing the button again will place a new portal as the old one fades away. Using her side or up special will also use up the portal and a new one will need to be placed.

Minerva’s side special has her thrust forward with her sword. If she has a portal active, it will strike through the portal, damaging whoever is on the other end, after which the portal will vanish. If there’s no portal, it’s just a strong sword thrust.

Minerva’s down special is a counter. She dashes backwards and briefly summons her astral form in her place. If the astral projection is struck, Minerva will rush forward and strike.

If Minerva has an active portal, her up special will cause her to jump through it, wherever it is, swinging her sword as the portal vanishes. If she has no portal, she will simply swing her sword overhead and do a small hop.

Minerva’s finale targets the nearest foe. She will disappear from wherever she is, before suddenly flying forth from a wormhole in the foe’s head. The wormhole’d foe will take massive damage, and anyone in her path as she flies forth will as well.

So I was initially gonna stick to just making movesets for the main seasons of Adventure Zone, but who am I to deny a polite request from Clint McElroy himself? I might delve into the other player characters from Commitment at some point, but for now, here’s Kardala (and Irene Baker)!

As you might expect, Kardala is quite the heavy hitter. But in order to get the most out of her hits, she needs time to charge up. While she’s not at all agile, some of her special moves can giver her the space she needs to get some charge so that she can really let loose.

Going out of order slightly, but it’s important to cover her neutral special first. So long as the button is held, Kardala will transform into Irene. As long as she is in this form, Kardala will gradually charge up. Irene can move and jump around a bit, but cannot attack.

Kardala’s down special creates a sheet of ice on the floor. Foes touching the floor when the ice is created will take a small amount of damage and will slip, while those close to her will take more and be stuck in place. The range and damage of this moves depends on her charge.

Kardala’s up special allows her to form a storm cloud overhead and travel up the lightning that crashes down from it. Having a higher charge will create a stronger lightning bolt, and allow Kardala to travel higher.

Kardala’s side special has her clap her hands together and create a gust of wind. Those caught by the clap will take decent damage, while those in the gust will take light damage and be pushed back. The distance pushed depends on Kardala’s charge.

Kardala’s finale has two effects. Firstly, it will max out Kardala’s charge for a short time, allowing her to put out full strength attacks one after another. Secondly, as long as it is active, static bolts will spring from Kardala and target any moving player for light damage.

Time for another hypothetical Adventure Zone platform fighter moveset! Today we’ve got the Ra

Time for another hypothetical Adventure Zone platform fighter moveset! Today we’ve got the Raven Queen’s bounty hunter, also known as Taako’s boyfriend, Kravitz!

Kravitz excels at one-on-one combat. He’s got good speed, good damage, and many skills that allow him to rush down and take out single opponents. Just be careful when up against multiple foes, as he can be easily overwhelmed.

Kravitz’s down special opens his bounty book. If a foe is in line of site, they’ll be marked with a bounty for a bit. This slightly boosts Krav’s damage to them and affects his other specials. This move can’t be used again til the bounty timer wears off, whether or not it successfully marked a foe.

Kravitz’s side special has him release a crystal cluster that drifts lazily in the direction he was facing until it comes in contact with anything, at which point it will explode. However, if a foe is marked by a bounty, the crystal will move a bit faster and home in on them.

Kravitz’s neutral special is a good old fashioned sweep of his scythe. The button can be held to charge up the swing for more damage. If used on a target marked by a bounty, in addition to doing additional damage to them, Kravitz will heal for a small amount.

Kravitz’s up special has his cape transform into a pair of wings, essentially just acting as a very good extra jump. If an opponent is marked by a bounty, you have the option to charge this move, and instead of flying upwards Kravitz will fly directly towards the marked opponent.

Kravitz’ finale has him call forth the conglomeration of souls known as Legion. Legion will float in the center of the stage for a short time, during which your usual moveset will be replaced by a series of strikes and blasts from Legion.

Back at it again! Rounding out our main Amnesty trio, here’s Ned Chicane’s moveset for a hypothetical Adventure Zone platform fighter.

Ned is surprisingly agile despite being one of the larger characters on the roster. His damage isn’t great, but his speed is pretty good and many of his moves are useful for disengaging from close-quarters combat after getting in a few quick hits.

Ned’s neutral special is essentially the same as Villager’s in Smash Bros. Ned can steal and pocket items and, if timed correctly, projectiles. If he has successfully pilfered something, then using the move again will throw it back out.

Ned’s up special is the graceful ‘Phoon. He launches into the air as if off a diving board, before rocketing back down. The move goes quick, and does good damage on the way down, but will absolutely send you to the blast zone if you’re not positioned well.

Ned’s down special has him pull out his polaroid camera and take a quick photo. The flash from the camera is short range and does barely any damage, but will stun opponents caught by it.

Ned’s side special fires off his magic NARF Blaster. The beam zaps forward along the ground while the recoil pushes Ned back slightly. If the button is held down, the beam will travel a bit further for a lil while longer, while Ned gets pushed back some more.

Ned’s finale has him get behind the driver’s seat of his Cryptonomica van. For a short time Ned can drive around freely in the van, doing damage to anyone in his path, while the van drops all sorts of detritus that can do additional damage on impact.
