This shouldn’t surprise anyone, but I am fucking livid.
How dare you take a character that is the epitome of good and justice and standing up for all those who can’t do it themselves and being that beacon of hope for so many people and turn him into a fucking Nazi? (I don’t care if HYDRA is “different” or “not the same” as Nazi Germany because it was based on it. As far as I’m concerned, there isn’t any difference between the two.)
And for what? Shock value? It’s garbage and I hope people continue to call them on it.
You can’t take over 70 years of established, not only canon, but personality and heart and how and who that person is at the core and pull a 180. It doesn’t fucking work like that. It doesn’t.
Have you ever considered the fact that they want to try something new without the backlash of a thousand raging SJWs like everyone bitching about it? You know, like creativity and plot twists so we don’t get the same film until the money cow stops milking? Just throwing that out there.

You say they just wanted “to try something new without…everyone bitching about it.” But guess what? We’re going to and we can. They know that when they signed up for this–and they should have expected the visceral reaction to this news. They’re allowed to write what they want to write, but they have to suffer the consequences. It’s not my job to like everything they put out; it’s their job to create something that people are going to like and want to read.
Just because they’re trying something new and different doesn’t mean we have to like or give it a chance or not comment on it at all. If you don’t want all this backlash, they should have thought about the implications of making Cap and Nazi/HYDRA all along. They don’t get to be excused or coddled because they’re just “trying their best.”
I don’t care.
This is there job, all of them, and this was the best they could come up with? They literally could think of no other story to use than to make Cap a secret HYDRA Nazi for the past 70 years, even when everything in his history points to the exact opposite? Even when it goes against literally everything he stands for? So we should just sit quietly and like them think that this type of annihilation of character is okay? Just throwing that out there.
