On this day 20 years ago, Ian McKellen arrived in New Zealand and joined the cast on January 10, 2000 to begin filming Peter Jackson’s epic the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Thank you for all the magical and wonderful memories.
A couple or three G&T’s and suddenly you have the urge to take a picture of Gandalf watching himself on TV because at that moment it is the most amusing thing you think you’ve ever seen.

of course shadowfax only answers to gandalf, that horse saw gandalf and went “at last someone as dramatic as me” and gandalf spotted shadowfax and went “yeah he is as dramatic as i am and my hair will look great as i ride him, that’s my horse”. their friendship is based on drama because they both look dazzling and they know it
That and Gandalf keeps hard candies in one of his pockets.
