Another@ravencyclebigbang down! This year I got the delight of pairing off with one of my longtime favoured fic authors in the fandom, @toast-the-unknowing, who took my art and spun it into words that fit it more than I could have hoped.

The Lynch family are selkies who have lost their pelts. Adam Parrish is a marine biologist just trying to collect some samples and stop hooligans (read: Ronan Lynch) from harassing seals (read: getting his brother to do homework). But maybe he can help their search too.

Summary
Declan is abducted by someone looking for the Greywaren. Ronan starts seeing an apparition of Declan as a child running around The Barns.
While reluctantly relying on his friends’ help with the investigation, Ronan comes to understand the legacy of trouble his father left his sons. Ronan is forced to confront the ways being Niall Lynch’s son shaped the relationships he has with his brothers.

I would not have gotten to the end without their wonderful cheerleading & ideas! Thank you both! (seriously, this is my first completed multi-chap and first bigbang event. I simply could not have done it alone!)

Greywaren is coming, and maybe we’ll see those Lynch boys escape the cycle of violence they’ve been locked into.
As things stand now, Declan’s always takes responsibility, Ronan always does what he wants without regard to his brother’s opinions, and Matthew has always been loved and protected (and stifled).
In order to break this cycle, I suspect Ronan is going to have to take some responsibility, Matthew is going to have to do what he wants without regard to his brother’s opinions, and Declan is going to have to be loved and protected.
Then maybe they will all mature to the point that Matthew becomes a responsible adult capable of caring for others, Declan learns that he deserves to do and be what he wants, and Ronan realizes he’s been loved all along.
matthew decides to start answering the phone by saying
“HEWWO??? this is matthew :)”
and it makes declan very upset and ronan isn’t sure how to feel about it because he was the one to come up with matthew so he has a crisis because ronan realizes that matthew’s humor is really just his sense of humor. ronan decides that it’s not a big deal, since it was 3 year old him that came up with matthew, so that’s why matthew’s sense of humor is weird.
