I like to imagine them getting married on Naboo. This is the ending they both deserved. Both happy, together, and very much alive, on a beautiful planet with a beautiful future ahead of them.
Not Ben dying and the movie ending with Rey alone on another desert planet barely better off than when the trilogy started.

This was how this scene went, right? None of this dying-and-becoming-one-with-the-force business, but with everybody’s two favorite star-crossed lovers staring into each other’s eyes, and very much alive?? Yeah sounds about right.
On a side note, Ben’s smile after they kissed killed me. What a way to go, though.
