Okay, so I know we all think we know exactly what should have happened or how it could’ve been better. But as of now I actually really liked TROS.
Now, I think the reason I am so cool with it is that while I’m heartbroken my baby boy is dead, especially after bendemption, I think Rey’s reaction wasn’t all bad.
She just spent the entire battle with Palpetine removing herself from hatred and anger and connecting with all thr Jedi’s of a thousand generations.
When Ben disappears, his body fading to become one with the force as per Jedi standards, I think if anything, it would be comforting.
He will always be with her, and any lingering doubts she could’ve possible had are gone. He has been redeemed, and become the Jedi he was meant to be. And now he will live on within her and she will never be alone.

Anakin: “I know what you are going through Rey. I can feel it in our bond through the force. You haven’t gotten over him, over Ben.”
Rey: …..
Anakin: (Smiles and shakes his head slightly) “It’s okay, I understand. I truly do. Our bond is real strong, but what you and Ben had, well…it was something else entirely.”
(Anakin takes her hands into his and gives them a gentle squeeze.)
Anakin: “I know how you feel about me, and I know you know how I feel about you. I also know you feel guilty about it too. So I am willing to wait for you, however long it takes.
Rey looks at Anakin, a few tears rolling down on her beautiful face. Anakin gently wipes them away. He leans in, softly kissing her forehead then pulling back to look deep into her eyes. Still smiling, he whispers.
Anakin: "And when you are ready for me, I will be ready for you.”
Anakin backs away, and turns around, walking away from her and onto his ship. Rey, not taking his eyes off him, feeling torn and guilty for how she was making Anakin feel. Yet, somewhere deep deep down, she felt hope.
