i think we vastly underutilize jon’s scars/marks, like, as a concept to explore. 

please consider;

• the mark from the desolation heals, but it still burns, the skin is hot to the touch, he starts shaking hands with his left.
• he can still feel the worms, but not only that, he can hear their songs when it gets quiet. 
• the mark from the hunt still bleeds, occasionally. it pulses like a heartbeat, faster and faster, driving him to give chase after his prey, lest he become the hunted again. 
• the slaughter’s mark also bleeds, and it sits stiffly in his shoulder, and when he pulls on the knotted skin, the pain is laced with something vicious and mindlessly violent, and just a little of what melanie had be feeling, on top of everything.
• his scars from the unknowing vanished, healed completely over after he accepted becoming the archivist. unless he looks in the mirror for too long, sees the skin warped and scarred and not entirely his own.

Jon’s been over-dunked. By canon. I have to be nice to him now. Soaking wet sad little meow meow something something.

Like seasons 1 and 2 Jon was SO dunkable because he was just like “I’m gonna be rude to all these statements givers who are totally making up all this supernatural stuff and also Martin because he sucks” and then he was like “I’m gonna stalk all my coworkers also Martin sucks”

Then I think learning the truth about Sasha broke him and he went “oh maybe this is NOT the time to be an asshole maybe my asshole shenanigans get people killed” and by about the 4th time he got kidnapped in s3 I think Jon really turned it around character development wise like the man just wants people to not get killed anymore.

Just in time for a bunch more people to die horrifically and for Jon to die and slip into an undead coma for 6 months and awaken no longer human to a world that hates him and is no longer there for him and blames him for all the horrors and deaths he never wanted Stop Stop He’s Already Dead.jpeg

My Jon now. Canon can have him back when they’ve calmed down in their room a little.

Gertrude, speaking into the camera for an office-style mockumentary: “I have reason to believe my current boss, Elias Bouchard, is actually the body-swapped reincarnation of my previous boss, James Wright. In fact I believe he is every head of the Magnus Institute dating back to Jonah Magnus himself. He’s been careful to hide all evidence but I’ve caught him in a key slip up.”

–*camera cut to Elias Bouchard sitting in a library chair, Gertrude filing away books behind him*–

Gertrude: “Oh excuse me James can I sneak through?”
Elias: “Oh, yes.” *scoots chair* “Sorry about that.”

–*camera cut to Gertrude opening the door to Elias’s office*–

Gertrude: “Excuse me Francis but do you have a moment?”
Elias: “Sorry, what was that?”
Gertrude: “I was asking if you have a minute, Richard.”

If Jmart did get married somewhere else one of the strongest and most foundational aspects of their marriage, besides the whole being deeply in love best friends thing, is that unerringly they want to Leave events at the exact same time. At first Jon will be like “oh Martin seems to be enjoying socializing but I’m Done with being here :(” and Martin not two minutes later will be like “hey do you mind getting out of here? I know we’ve only been here an hour but every part of me wants to be a home with a cuppa in my jimjams with you on one side and our cat on the other” they’ll be in a public space like a museum or park and the moment Martin goes from enjoying himself to vibrating out of his skin bc the crowds are too much Jon ALWAYS is like “I’m tired are you okay with calling it a day?” and Martin’s like “Jon you’re the perfect man. Did you know that?? I hope you know that” even though Jon’s leg is just hurting and he wants to rest it. and THAT’S why they’re soulmates

#well they also both were stabbed#if i recall correctly anyways that basically was stabbing when jon was getting the ghost bullet out

Georgie: if I had a nickel for every time someone I would or had dated got a scar in their shoulder from a scalpel wound they insisted wasn’t that bad, I would have two nickels, which unfortunately says a lot about me.

speaking of how an avatar gets their sustenance, another hc i like but haven’t seen discussed often, is that at least some part of Martin’s journey to avatar-dom (in s4) is unwittingly fueled by the general loneliness experienced by the regular Institute employees, after Peter takes over

Theory:Jon never actually woke up from his coma at the start of season 4. He’s still in the coma, and everything afterwards is a dream the Eye put together to mess with him. Bonus points if Elias actually planned all of this from the start because he’s just That Ahead of everyone’s shit

What, does it turn out he’s been alive the whole time and has been secretly giving orders to Elias or something? Given that avatars have extended lifespans and that he was almost certainly an avatar of the eye I guess that shouldn’t come as a surprise
