C-9979 landing craft were large transports manufactured for the Trade Federation droid army, and later general Separatist military use. These sizable vessels could carry multiple vehicles and troops. When in storage in larger craft, C-9979s wings could be detached to store them easily.

UE4 - Star Wars: Droid Control Ship - by Jorge Barros(myself)
I’m so very thrilled to finally be able to share my greatest personal project so far, a tribute to a beloved legendary saga, born from the brilliant mind of George Lucas. This is a playable real-time environment recreated after the first scenes in Star Wars - Episode I, inside the Trade Federation’s Droid Control Ship, that I started a few years ago, but have only been able to make progress on, on and off, during free time, and through a lot of lightmap desperation!..
Everything was made by me alone, apart from all sound used in the videos.

I found this kit circa 1999 brand new at a comic store for 11.99 US, pretty sweet deal indeed
After applying primer to the parts, I glued some wire to the droid head, so later the whole assembly can be mounted on a magnet painting base
Next, I brushed a layer of silver acrylic paint. We will later scratch some of the final paintjob to expose the silver paint as if it was made of metal all along!
