I’m sad to see a site that I love end like this. People used to feel safe to be themselves but now they can’t. December 17 will be the day tumblr dies. It has killed itself. People no longer feel free to exspress themselves anymore. Inocent post are being flagged as “inappropriate” because curse words or have certent frases of words. You will no longer have freedom of speech or to exspress yourself. The main groups of people being hurt by this are the LGBTQ community, artist and the community of fanfiction writers.
tumblr is no longer a safe space that it once was. It is now a dead website that a lot of us will remember.
You know what? I don’t care anymore. I’m logging out of this account on the sixteenth and not logging in at all on December 17th. Tumblr can kiss my fucking ass, as I am also going to deactivate my alt account just so that Tumblr doesn’t get to my other account falsely. I see this new update as bullshit and I already suddenly started to get popular recently on here. Despite giving me mt 15 minutes of fame, I don’t want it anymore. This hellhole of a site can kiss my fucking ass and I will be done with this site completely.
Speaking of which, in case Tumblr somehow takes down this blog anyway on the 17th, here are some other places you can find me on social media.

This blog may reappear somewhere else on the internet in about the same form under the same name. I have archived some of my favorite posts from this and my previous adult tumblr account and will probably be posting these on the next incarnation of this blog.
So it looks like I still have alvinanddobbes, my main blog here (which is mostly reposts) and ironwolf. There were a few false flags on iron wolf, but I appealed and they were reversed, so it looks like a good portion of my content here survived.
I couldn’t save TOB, though, despite my hours and hours and hours and hours and hours spent foolishly trying to whitewash self-censor it all.

It does not have that goofy security certificate thingie apparently nor the stable IP address required to get a security certificate thingie, so you’ll just have to trust my site won’t eat your computer if you want to visit.
It really is just static HTML right now. I tried wordpress. Couldn’t hack the complexity. I’ll probably dump all my risque art in a folder someplace for everyone to browse.

As I’ve posted before, I largely don’t come to Tumblr anymore, and now that they’re cracking down on seemingly anything and claiming it’s ‘pornographic’, it’s the final nail in the coffin. (it is kind of amusing that I left Tumblr because of all the porn bots and now my Tumblr may get shut down because of them finally cracking down on porn, but in a horribly inaccurate way, lol).
Since Tumblrs unenforceable “adult content” ban, alot of us have had all kinds of posts flagged that aren’t porn.
Some of the things I’ve had flagged include
A picture of mars
Science posts
Various posts on technology (and I’m not talking about sex tech).
My followers have reported these kinds of posts being flagged
A picture of their pet bird
A picture of their cat
Pictures of different kinds of fruit/vegetables
Anime art (the non hentai variety)
Pictures of famous roman statues
Apparently, some people have been receiving unsolicited Dick/butt pics in Tumblr messages. My guess is Tumblr’s filter does not work with messages. This type of content was easier to avoid before the ban, because it had to be flagged as “sensitive” and could easily be filtered. Now that its being sent in random messages its alot harder to filter.
Meanwhile, porn bots are still here. Most now just post women in skimpy outfits. To get the real porn, you have to click the links they post. Sometimes they’ll instant message you with unsolicited real porn, which has been getting through Tumblrs filters.
What kind of posts have you had flagged? Have you noticed any other weirdness on Tumblr since the “adult content” ban?
If you want a good alternative to Tumblr, try Libr (https://librapp.com). NSFW content is allowed as long as its tagged. No porn bots either, at least not yet.

Basically, because I know Mobile is bad with links, the article points out hat the broad, “sfw only, no titties allowed” wave on the internet in recent years is largely due to Apple’s absolute stranglehold on the App Store. Apple has strict guidelines about NSFW content that choke creators right out of mainstream social media, even on sites like Reddit, for users of their products:
But there are fewer and fewer mainstream sites and services that support porn and adult content, and much of that attitude has grown out of Apple’s strict controls over the App Store and the iOS ecosystem. Steve Jobs famously suggested that “folks who want porn can buy an Android phone,” and Apple has repeatedly leveraged its unprecedented power over millions of smartphones to sanitize the apps that are available on iPhones. Apple does not allow apps “that contain user generated content that is frequently pornographic.” In 2016, Apple famously deleted all third-party Reddit apps that allowed users to toggle NSFW posts on and off; even now, it is impossible to access porn on an iOS Reddit app unless you jump through various hoops.
remember though that this anger isn’t about Being Horny On Main, it’s about sex workers, their platforms and followers, NSFW creators and their art, and adult content communities that are continually being shoved out of spaces they created in recent years:
Tumblr’s leadership seems to believe that the community using Tumblr for adult content is the same as any other porn site—showing a serious disconnect with how its users actually interact and connect on its own platform. “We will leave it to them and focus our efforts on creating the most welcoming environment possible for our community,” he wrote.
The value of Tumblr for NSFW creators and fans was in the autonomy to curate something original, and the freedom to express and share what they’re into—something that can’t be replaced by algorithmically-suggested porn on the rest of the internet.

This is yet another example of a platform ignoring adult content when it helps the platform flourish, and then leaving those users out to dry when it’s time to crack down for some monetary gain or face-saving. In addition to being a terrible way to treat your user base, banning adult content on Tumblr will stifle a lot of creativity.
The communities that will feel this change the most will be the already-marginalized. “Tumblr banning adult content is a huge loss for the LGBTQ community, especially those with overlapping marginalized identities,” Kitty Stryker, a queer porn performer and consent activist, told Motherboard in an email. “For many, that’s the one place we could find porn that represents us, made by indie performers who created their own content outside of an often racist, transmisogynist, fatphobic industry. Tumblr was where our content could exist without pushing us into the restrictions of a misogynist, male dominated workplace.”

I haven’t been a big journal keeper since I was a kid, although I kept up with infrequent angst-fueled journalling through high school and probably college? and i never thought much about the fact that that’s dropped off too in the last 5 years, because sure, adulting started and I was busy, you know? But that’s the exact amount of time I’ve had this blog. And we all know you post your thoughts and feelings on your blog, but I am just now realizing how much this space has been a public journal for me. Through like, a lot of big stuff, too, graduating from college, moving back in with my parents, coming out, my first relationship, the first fandoms i really participated in, getting closer to the people who are my best friends and my family. That’s a Lot, guys.
This is why i can’t go through old physical writings I have, whether they be my journals or other stuff, because there’s a lot of feelings wrapped up in those spaces, and this is kind of the same. I don’t believe tumblr will stick around forever; a lot of us have thought that it would die a slow death after the yahoo purchase, and I still think that’s at the root of what’s been happening around here in the last few years. I will be backing this blog up in the next couple of weeks, and I don’t have any intention of deleting it, but personally I think the day when tumblr folds is coming soon, and then it will be gone whether i want it to be or not. And anyways my blog is a very different place than it was a few years ago; a lot of my friends and mutuals have already left tumblr (which could be a whole other post of Feelings, honestly, given the fact that we were all dragon age fans and bioware is supposed to make a DA announcement soon. I’m not exactly the Last Holdout in my circle, here, but a lot of people I shared those games with then are just…gone. I fb friended a few, I blocked someone else who recently started posting TERF rhetoric, others only log on sporadically. My DA fandom community here is just not what it was).
