A woman is going to be wrongfully executed next month for a crime she did not commit. Her case was used as a political ploy, and a false confession was produced by gross police misconduct.
Her name is Melissa Lucio and she’s going to die this April.

Okay, I am fucking ready to throw hands with the Florida Government. This “Don’t Say Gay” bill would prevent both LGBTQ children and teachers from talking about that. A literal child wouldn’t be able to talk about their own parents if their parents are LGBTQ. Not oy that, but this is severely detrimental to the mental health of both out and closeted children. I for one am disgusted by this bill and beg everyone to sign the petition to get it abolished. Signing is free and takes less than five minutes. Please, this legislation is disgusting, an infringement on people’s rights, and just plain fucked up.

If you try to order a coronavirus test online at https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test or by calling 119 you must provide a gender, and the only options available are “male” and “female”.
This prevents nonbinary people from ordering coronavirus tests.
Please add a third gender option.
The NHS and the UK government acknowledge the existence of nonbinary people, but the online form and the telephone system prevents us from getting a coronavirus test, forcing us to self-isolate needlessly.
This is indirect discrimination under the Equality Act 2010 under the protected characteristic of gender reassignment, and in breach of GDPR, which requires information collected about us to be accurate.

In the wake of confirmation that the government will announce this week that the Gender Recognition Act won’t be reformed, this petition is suddenly climbing very quickly:

Reform the GRA to allow transgender people to self-identify without the need for a medical diagnosis, to streamline the administrative process, and to allow non-binary identities to be legally recognised.
The response gathered by the government showed strong support for this reform with 70% in favour, but the results seem to have been ignored by policy makers.
The current process is distressing and often humiliating for transgender people, as well as lengthy and costly making it inaccessible to many people. Reform is needed to improve the lives of trans people, and I don’t think the proposed measures will negatively impact existing provisions under the Equalities Act.
It needs 10,000 signatures to get a response from the government, and 100,000 signatures to be considered for debate. It currently (20th Sept 2020) has almost 40,000 signatures and it’s climbing by a few hundred signatures per minute.

I will speak on behalf of polish LGBT+ community. Today (10th of July) the president of Poland (Andrzej Duda) signed a law called "THE FAMILY CARD" established to “protect” the children. The law says that for children the most dangerous are LGBT+ people. Alcoholism, pathology, domestic violence or pedophilia are not even mentioned.
Formally they call us “ideology”, “pedophiles”, “strangers”. A lot of people threaten us. We have to deal with insults everyday. They do not listen to us at all. They want to get rid of us. They use the flag of our country against us!
They want to protect children by banning sex education. By restricting the law. By restricting human rights. By restricting the individual liberty.

I think this petition is a nice, level headed way to inform Dreamworks about the incredible demand for happy ,natural lgbt arcs. I was hurt too, but not as much as many young lgbt kids, who thought the overhyped marketing Netflix built around the Shiro Adam pair were disappointed. I read hundreds of stories and open letters by kids who wanted to use this show after the big fanfare to come out to their parents while watching this season together. But it was obviously the usual too subtle for casual viewers to even notice kind of representation.
And people are still convinced an 8 season long Keith -Lance arc will come to a happy end last season.
I have an incredible respect for the creators, animators, and the voice actors, I love them all, I interacted with some of them on social media, but both sides are right this case.
Several things they said during interviews might turn out to be a lie, if that’s the case, I hope they address it in a longer letter, or interview, telling is the behind the scenes battles with the Dreamworks bosses, holding back the creative freedom- which was expected from Netflix.
It’s sad that there is no supply for the incredible demand.
And I’M glad at least everyone condemned the aggressive, verbally abusive fans.
I hope I can finally see myself in a character in a subtle romantic subplot before I turn 80.
So, there’s apparently research coming out now about microplastics being found in people’s bloodstreams and the possible negative effects of that and I feel the need to get out ahead of the wave of corporate sponsored “be sure to recycle your bottles!” or “ban glitter!” campaigns and remind everyone:

The plastic in the ocean in largely discarded nets from industrial fishing. The microplastics are the result of these nets breaking down. The “trash islands” are also, you guessed it. Mostly fishing nets and other discarded fishing industry equipment.
Do not allow them to continue to twist the story. Do not come after disabled people who require single use plastics. Do not come after people using glitter in art projects and makeup. These things make up a negligible amount of the issue compared to corporate waste, specifically in the fishing industry. Do not let them shift the blame to the individual so they can continue to destroy the planet and our bodies without regulation.
