The party ascended to the top of the spire and encountered the Hierophant, the guy who was the reason we were all dead, and found that he’d given into reaver-ragnaxxa corruption and didn’t even care about returning to life with all the shards of Ragnaxxa’s soul. So we beat the shit out of him, then all the shards flew in outta nowhere and combined to form the Tear of Ragnaxxa and powered up the Hierophant so we had to beat his ass AGAIN.

Ryybyn’s soul was greatly diminished after being purged of Ragnaxxa’s corruption, but this gave them the ability to save others from attacks that would double-kill them… at the cost of Ryybyn’s own soul. They sacrificed 2/3 of their soul to keep the rest of the team up and got the final hit on the Hierophant with Call Lightning.

The hierophant was gone for good but the Tear of Ragnaxxa remained. Gordon respawned outta nowhere and, after a lot of discussion, decided to take the Tear and keep moving so its corruption can’t build up in any one place. Then he used its power to send the party back on their way to life.

Except, Ryybyn’s soul was too fragile to go anywhere…

Last set! All of Ragnaxxas corruption was purged from Ryybyn, leaving them as a withered husk. Also I totally broke down sobbing like a bitch when Tryxxie mentioned the song. ;_;

I thought this whole session was super emotionally intense but OH BOY just wait for the next set!

I started this entire set over a month ago and this was the part I was looking forward to illustrating most. Tones really made it compared to the pencils.

I feel like Ryybyn being a giant draconic snake monster at the time makes it a bit too ridiculous… but at least I left out that they were also on fire :’D

Ryybyn’s newest look! With a fresh resurrected-from-death body and healthier attitude on life thanks to being blessed with the Tears of Aleksandyr (their god)… and their friends who never gave up on them.

We jumped up two levels so Ryybyn is now Lore Bard 10 / Life Cleric 1. They have some truly obscene healing output now and can actually wear armour! Except we’re in the sticks of a magic-phobic country so we have to act like run-of-the-mill travellers and will have to reach a bigger town before I can actually get that breastplate… but… soon the AC will be mine…

For context, the party all died and were chased around by a spooky ass ghost who turned out to be Alison’s unborn dead twin sister, Alicia. Alicia then challenged Alison to a fight, with the winner claiming the right to return back to the world of the living.

Rest of the comic is below.

So recently in the D&D campaign run by @dm-tuz, all the player characters were transported into a hag’s nightmare realm. Upon arrival, we were all transformed into kids and then had to run around a haunted orphanage in order to collect ‘magical keys’ that would make the characters grow up again.

One of the keys was found in the disgusting haunted Outhouse, thus making it the second time that Alison & Ryybyn had to fight a toilet.

We started our next D&D arc over at the Unbound campaign. Since we’re all going under cover, obviously I had to make Alison dress up as a Babushka of sorts.

Greetings, Tumblrians. I have joined forces with the people at Unbound to publish my latest project, the Illustrated Compendium of Creative Collaboration titled FRAZER IRVING’S PLAYFUL INVERSIONS!

Yes this is the big grown up version of the sketchbooks I was publishing earlier in the year, what with that being such fun to do I took it to the next level with bigger pages, more detailed and varied art, and stories that provide stand alone tales as well as sequential narratives. Plus, colour.

The campaign has just started so I’ll be adding updates both on the campaign page and on here, showing more clips of the process from the cintiq and ipadpro, snippets of text from the stories as they form, and some music.

For now, back to drawing comics…

“Absolutely not! And if you try, I’ll rip your lousy tongue out and sell it to the highest bidder.”

“Point for Bam! You truly excel in disturbing imagery. Someday I may want to study under you.”
