The story of Eufloria for me came from my own inner curiosities. It was an interesting story that very much fell into place with my fellow collaborators during a unplanned production that we decided to explore as play. Its lovely when it comes together this way and we all give a little bit of ourselves.

My story describes a young girls fantasies, the inner desire of a woman about the bloom.  The garden signifies the lovers thirst for freedom and by natures alluring essence they discover a whole new unspoken language

Whilst the costumes imply a period story, their motives suggest something much more intimate underneath the lacy white frills. I played the quite observer, a wallflower. I couldn’t resist glancing through my window at the story which unravelled before me, as did the soft cream ribbons from her floral blue dress.

Our first bespoke order of 2018 was finished today! A gorgeous blue silk camisole with fabulous printed pyjama bottoms made from Liberty of London silk. Each piece has been trimmed with a white vintage cotton lace and small blue satin bows.

Somnia Romantica will keep its shop open for now. As long as the postal offices are open I will do so, unless there is a full lockdown. I work from my home, so I can keep creating new pieces.
I will also keep my supplies shop Somnia Lace Boutique open.

Having our almost 2 years old son full time at home now, I wish to give him the attention he deserves (and demands XD ). This means I have about half the working time I normally have (doing shifts with my love).

My focus will lay on creating new pieces, making photos and keeping my social media platforms alife where possible. If I temporarily close my shop, if there will be a full lockdown, I will try to keep up at least with my social media platforms, as I think the online community and even just posting some pretty picturs is more than important in these isolated times.

What will change?

I am sorry to conclude that during this crisis I can’t keep up with my Youtube channel. I will pick up Youtube again whenever Ezra goes to daycare again, no idea when that will be. But I sure enjoyed making my last video, so stay tuned ^^

My brand new drawings & illustration shop that I was just starting up, will be closed until more tranquil times, when I have time again to keep up with 3 webshops ^^ I will keep on drawing and I will post results on @marjoleinturinart ^^

LOOK AT THIS!! Sorry, I’m a bit over excited. I don’t know how to best convey to you the full glory of this vintage embroidered tulle lace from @swagmansdaughter. It’s a good 5" deep, and it’s going to look AMAZING around the hem of a black muslin petticoat.
