I’m so excited to add this book to my Season of Horror stack! This one was recommended to me by @gowsy33 and I’ve heard good things about it from just about everyone who has read it. It’s an old story, written in 1981. He wrote the screenplays for Beetlejuice and the Nightmare Before Christmas. This story is in the Southern Gothic genre and involves unexplained deaths and a creepy house. YES PLEASE

I think I mentioned before that my clothing style is “Apocalyptic Gypsy Grandma” I really only wear things that are ripped up, Stevie Nicks approved or so old only grannies would wear ‘em.

I have this thing for rusty metal. This is the apocalyptic/distressed/grungy side of me. So this piece of metal has different stages of decay all over it, it was hard to choose what to feature first.
Anyhoo! I’m going to try and find GOT online and catch up. And you can bet I’ll be a Nerd Girl and have Winter Brew tea while I watch. I already tried the Lannister blend and it was ☕️

I’ve been a busy bee today! I’ve been wracking my creative brain to change up my theme, I’ve gotten a little bit tired of my white boards and as soon as I start seeing similar backgrounds, I get antsy for change.

I painted and distressed my boards this afternoon AND I bought a rusty piece of metal. People look at you funny when you say, “excuse me, do you have rusty pieces of metal?”

Today is Woman Author Crush Wednesday for the #circleofbookishfriends and it’s no surprise I picked @aniaahlborn
I’m pretty sure I decided to read her book Brother off @wherethereadergrows recommendations and after devouring that book in less than 24 hours, I binged more of her and more of her. After reading The Devil Crept In which was a @the.nocturnal.readers.box book, I messaged Ania the first time with some crazy fangirl shit and she graciously appeased me.
I can honestly say she’s an author crush and friend and I will pimp her books until the cows come home! Whatever that means because how would I know if anyone’s cows come home?? I don’t know any? It’s just a weird saying.
Basically, Ahlborn is a goddess among men in the horror genre. A must read.
