Я часто и много ною по поводу своей жизни, но это не значит, что я не ценю теплые моменты и других людей. Иногда я едва сдерживаю слезы умиления и благодарности за те добрые слова и поступки, которые они для меня совершают. На КК я увидела что с множеством людей, которых не видела очень давно, и каждый из них решил меня порадовать. Я тогда была в совершенном неадеквате, толпы и публичные выступления на меня странно влияют, поэтому хочу ещё раз сказать всем спасибо. Для меня это очень важно и ценно! Спасибо Напру, который почти год таскал этого прекрасного бирюзового единорога, из Эстонии вез, чтобы меня порадовать. Спасибо Насте за носки, я обожаю носки! Я их коллекционирую и ношу с огромным удовольствием, классные носки могут исправить самое плохое настроение. Спасибо Ксении за котика, я обожаю котиков, космос и пины (скоро закажу ещё одну сумку, чтобы все пины вместить), буду носить с большим удовольствием. Спасибо, котики! Я рада, что несмотря на вы всё ещё со мной!

I didn’t have the best day, so gush about 3 of your current favorite things.
Had the worst cramps in a long while today so I took about 3 naps yet I’m still so sleepy. I had to skip my norwegian lesson today as I didn’t have the strength to even put clothes on, let alone go out in the rain and spend 2 and a half hours in school. I’m snuggled in bed right now, thinking about what to read before sleep inevitably claims me.

Ever get so busy you don’t even have time to check your phone?
Sorry for being kinda MIA, I had a couple of very busy days. Yesterday I started my second Norwegian course, which is fun but there’s only 6 of us and the others all know each other, so it’s only me whose the outsider. So I was preparing for that for the last couple days.
Then today I met up with @ursula_uriarte finally, and went around the city a bit, even though it was a disgusting rainy weather.
But the fun ended there, my middle host kid has gotten sick, the parents asked me to cut the kids hair, so it was just thing upon thing to do. I hope to catch up with some comments and your posts from the missed time but I have school again so I’m not sure how it will go. But for now, I’m gonna like some posts here and then go to bed, I’m beat.

Luckiest book find? Every got anything from any bookstore that surprised you when you opened it?
This is the Norwegian edition of Laini Taylor’s Daughter or Smoke and Bone which I found in a bookstore here for about $2.50 on sale so of course I couldn’t leave it there… only to open it when I came home and find that IT IS SIGNED!! How lucky I am! Can’t wait for the day until I can properly read it and understand every word.
How was your day? I had a quite productive one with work and such and now I’m about to settle in bed to watch some more of season 2 of Elite.

My fave announcing concerts for next year, Christmas, BTS next year, my father’s wedding, eventual moving… someone tell me how to get a money tree like in Sims because it’s just too much and I’m just so worried about money lately, even though I barely spend anything. And I’m worried that there won’t be any time in my life when I’m not worried about it. And let me tell y’all, it sucks.

What are you doing if you get into a reading slump? I’ve been in one for the longest time and tbh, the only thing I do is listen and listen and listen again to the whole All For The Game series on audiobooks because I feel like those are the only books I enjoy anymore. I’m planning on maybe rereading Simon vs and hoping after that, I get out of this awful slump.
Any other tips for it? I’d love to hear them!

Happy Halloween guys! I’m on my way to my last Norwegian lesson as we speak so I’m not out celebrating at all. There was a small party for my host kids earlier today where I live and safe to say I ate waaaaay too much sugar and now have a stomachache.

Today I finally started The Night Circus so it was fitting that I post about the author’s upcoming book, The Starless Sea, which I’m totally not reading, just borrowed from @ursula_uriarte because the cover is so beautiful.
I’ve been having a lots of rough nights with waking up all hours, especially around 3am and unable to go back to sleep. Any tips for that? I tried to go to sleep early, late, or even later (which happens because of school ends late) and nothing helps. I’ve been drinking calming tea and water and tried not to eat too late, don’t drink any caffeine but I failing. So if you have any tips or tricks, I would be forever grateful.

I’m so excited to add this book to my Season of Horror stack! This one was recommended to me by @gowsy33 and I’ve heard good things about it from just about everyone who has read it. It’s an old story, written in 1981. He wrote the screenplays for Beetlejuice and the Nightmare Before Christmas. This story is in the Southern Gothic genre and involves unexplained deaths and a creepy house. YES PLEASE

We’ve talked about Craig Davidson right? I told you he’s Nick Cutter, yeah? So we know this.
And I’ve read all the Nick Cutter books.
So what to do?
I read Cataract City by (the not Nick Cutter) which isn’t horror at all but it’s his voice you know? And I’d read his grocery list.
So now I’m moving on to this one. I don’t even really know what it’s about but it has a blurb by Chuck Palahniuk and a sleek cover design and who cares what it’s about?! It will be good and I’ll love it. And if I don’t, I’ll be straight with you guys. I do honest reviews here, even on authors I really, really like.

The Cider House Rules by John Irving is one of those books that hangs with you for awhile. I went through this phase in my reading where I read a lot of contemporary, adult fiction. Of that phase, my favorite stand out books were, The Bastard Out of Carolina by Dorothy Alison. Cold Sassy Tree by Olive Ann Burns and Cider House.
I’m in a very serious horror/dark thriller kick now so I won’t be reading any books of this sort for awhile but if you like those kinds of reads right now, swoop those three up!

My wee @ab_reads is reading this George R.R. Martin favorite of mine, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. It’s in the same world setting as the Song of Ice and Fire series but in a different, simpler time.

After reading 13 Views of Suicide Woods, I’m really excited for his newest release Come to Dust
How cool is it that it looks like Rust from my background has infected the book cover?
This storyline reminds me a little bit of Suffer the Children that I just read with @gowsy33 @book.happy and @bookishmommy about children dying and then rising up from the grave.
We all really enjoyed it. This one has some subtle differences with some religious fanatics and more of a focus on a single family.
Super looking forward to it.

As a HUGE Shakespeare fan, I jumped at the chance to get this book. It’s a retelling of one of my favorite plays, King Lear. You might have seen Hagseed by Margaret Atwood? That book is a part of this project too and was a retelling of Shakespeare’s the Tempest.

Well, one of the new books I requested from a publisher I found on Twitter came yesterday! It’s called Beneath by Kristi DeMeester. TOR.com was also boating about this book, the plot really intrigued me: a journalist with a secret past is assigned a cover story about a snake charming cult in the Appalachian mountains. Again with the cults!
Speaking of cults, I read 84 pages in one fell swoop of Gather the Daughters. See a previous post if you want to know more about it but it’s so easy and compelling. I hate putting it down!
