People talk a lot about “today’s terrible eating habits” and “the proliferation of ‘junk food’ today” and it makes me so mad. You will hate to hear this but eating and humanity’s relationship with food has changed for the better. Evidence of chronic malnutrition and starvation is found on so many remains in practically every different culture throughout history. And it wasn’t always a lack of food, it was a lack of understanding of what the body needs. Marasmus was an extremely common cause of death for children, it is a condition caused by severe malnutrition that results in stunted growth and often death. It effected children from affluent families, families that could afford to feed their children and did, not just children who were physically starving from lack of food. Now if we see a baby or a child with failure to thrive, we can supply rich formulas with the vitamins and calories they need to grow. They couldn’t do that back then because they didn’t understand.
We enrich common foods with vitamins and minerals that people are commonly deficient in (iodized salt, fluoride water) and it saves lives. With the invention of mass produced products and safe canning, we can send foods to regions they wouldn’t otherwise be available. It’s fantastic and it’s marvelous. Believe it or not, ‘processed foods’ have been very good for humanity.
As I watch New Looney Tunes, it amuses me to think of Daffy ribbing Bugs behind the scenes over how he had to come and rescue Wabbit from being a failed show.
(It’s even part of my headcanon as to why Daffy’s back to his OG characterization of cheerful loon; nothing cheered him up quite like feeling that he’s the show’s saving grace).

Aoyama Yuuga
Elliot! Be still his beating heart. Elliot is effortlessly romantic, beautiful, and has some really wonderful dialogue when the character wooing him is male. Yuuga always chooses the option for Elliot to be writing a romance novel, feeling starry-eyed and dreamy pretending it’s about him. His favorite thing about marrying Elliot is spoiling him with gifts. Yuuga’s main source of money in-game is wine and fruit, meaning he always has an excess of pomegranates stored up. The dialogue “Yuuga, this is a beautiful gift! Thank you!” always gets him smiling.
Midoriya Izuku
Maru! She’s smart, she’s interesting, a real woman of science! He loves talking with her and completing requests for her, and he’s especially fond of her six hearts scene. Something about that telescope and looking at the stars really just gets Izuku’s little heart fluttering. His favorite thing about marrying Maru is the little gifts she gives on rainy mornings – things she whipped up in her lab! Izuku gets little heart eyes whenever he talks about her and his friends have teased him more than one for that.
Sero Hanta
Haley! Listen … he knows. Whatever you’re gonna say, Hanta knows. But … Haley’s so pretty when she’s mean!! Sure, she’s likely to negatively comment on his choice of outfit, but that’s not all there is to her. Getting to know Haley through her heart events is just so endearing to Hanta. He loves seeing her open up about her interests and show off her soft side. Her dialogue after she’s married the farmer is too cute for Hanta to ever consider another marriage candidate.
Kirishima Eijirou
Alex!This one is so painfully obvious. Alex is a jock, he’s got kind of a big mouth, he’s a terrible flirt – but he’s the manliest of all the bachelors! And when you’re unlocking his heart events, he opens up to you about his life! He cries! What’s manlier than that? Eijirou’s favorite thing about marrying Alex is the little weight room he sets up in the farmhouse when he moves in. He just wishes he could get his farmer to use it :(
Tokoyami Fumikage
Sebastian! They have the same energy, Fumi would argue. They’re both dark, brooding, and – well, Sebastian’s hot, okay? He’s hot and emotional and … that eight hearts scene really speaks to Fumikage’s soul. His favorite thing, though, is the soft spots that Sebastian shows. He might be into some dark stuff, but he also loves frogs and pumpkin soup. Now that? That’s quality husband material.
Uraraka Ochako
Shane! Bleeding heart, ever open to hard cases. The very first time he was mean to her farmer, Ochako vowed right then and there she’d make friends with this bitter asshole. And then she unlocked his heart events, very much actually cried to Momo about that one, and married him as soon as she could. Sure, he didn’t stop drinking, but he was happy and he was alive. Any new farm Ochako creates always includes Shane – she can’t even fathom marrying another villager.
