Kemetic Lenormand Card (2) Clover

Bes was an instant fit with The Clover card!

Luck, Lightheartedness, Small Happinesses, Opportunity, Being Untroubled, Comedy

Did you know Bes is a patron of children? It was said that if a baby smiled and laughed for no reason or without prompting, it was Bes making faces at them. Though He may not have the same popularity today as He did in antiquity, He’s not one to overlook.

Kemetic Lenormand Card (1) The Rider

Djehuty (Thoth) seemed the perfect name to represent the first card in this deck.

Energy, Passion, Speed, Activity, News, Messages

He’s depicted in flight carrying with him his message. Quick, and knowledgeable He may come to us suddenly and unexpected. Djehuty is a name with many aspects, and this one that comes swift on beating wings.

You Are Far From Done

You Are Far From Done, but this art drop is almost gone.

You Are Far From Done, 10″x8″ watercolor on paper
The Floating Gallery closes at midnight! If you covet any of the remaining art from this month’s drop, it’s time to talk to your artist and make it your own.
Gorgeous shades of purple swirl into a black hole in the middle, where even the light of the stars and the shine of the paint vanishes. It very much feels like a view of space where stars…

Evermore

Evermore, like nevermore but sunsets happen on a daily basis… so far.

Evermore, 7″x5″ watercolor on yupo
Yupo is a nifty paper-like substrate made of polypropylene resin that doesn’t absorb water at all. This tough little sheet is semi-transparent, so you can see my tablecloth through the sunset if you look closely!
Clouds spiral upward from gold to orange to pink, while the sun sits red at the edge of the horizon, ready to slip away for the night. The tree still…

Concentric 13

Concentric 13, because purple is love.

Concentric 13, 7″x5″ watercolor on paper
A gorgeous deep violet wash hides hints of teal spirals beneath it, while the concentric dot patterns bring in a shine of purple, blue-green, and silver. The light makes the firework bursts shine, while a change of angle lets all but the silver fade into the paper. The colors all have a dark base with the bright sparkles to better help it shine!
There’s a…

Deep in the Middle Twilight

Tentacle Tuesday, anyone?

Deep in the Middle Twilight, 12″x6″ watercolor on paper
This fanciful painting is also a foot wide, but a mere six inches tall! Thick, textured watercolor gives us a deep ocean current on which floats a plethora sea life. Well, and a ghost.
The watery backdrop is a deep matte teal, while the sea life all sparkles and shines, much like the actual creatures that live in the Twilight Zone (not the…

Time is Escaping

Time is Escaping, a big, beautiful abstract painting that you absolutely need to own.

Time is Escaping, 12″x24″ mixed media on paper
This piece has been through a number of transformations, starting with a very pink wash of rhodonite and ending with a spattering of metallic watercolor. There’s both mineral and synthetic pigments, watercolor and acrylic paints, and a variety of techniques in this big, beautiful work of art.
Larger than my usual (two feet tall — Trotsky for scale!),…

Bat and Cat: 2022, 12″x 9″ watercolor paper, gouache and inks.

I’m learning how to paint watercolors for my urban sketches and future projects. I haven’t traditional paint since I had to do my school assignments three years ago. I had leftover gouache paints and use them as watercolors (school art supplies— not a waste!)  I love how the colors came out. This was my second attempt at drawing this piece. There are fewer mistakes than on my first attempt. Basically, I paint first then ink, opposite to what I normally do digital art.

Anyway, this was the rough sketch and—

This face alone had me went “Yes, I must draw this.”

Continuing on the topic of autistic headcanons, here’s Snufkin. Super autistic, change my mind. Super relatable too.

I had fun painting him with watercolours!

I started doing watercolor paintings! I’m in *love* with my first piece!!
