IC Hook:
You find an ensorcelled parchment in your hands, and you do not remember picking it up. It reads:
“Come one, come all, to the Pridecraft Ball! In Twilight Grove, before nightfall, when seven bells echo, we will drink of wine, red, white, and Prosecco.
There is a painting on the parchment here, between words.
"Join us to celebrate the you that you are, no matter who you love. Alliance and Horde will meet peace by dove. Leave your weapons by the door, and we will meet you on the ballroom floor!!”
Just so you all know the RP location maps for Warcrafts capitals are still under way. But I recently (finally) got a new job and the training has been intensive! So, obviously that comes first on my energy-spending priority list. I’m still working on the maps as I can and I’ll upload Gilneas when I get a chance to BREATHE. <3
Thanks again for the support everyone~ These maps have really given me confidence and the calming, de-stressing project I’ve needed for a while.
So I’m seeing a how to get RP post floating around and I’ve been sitting on this idea for a while. I’ve heard a lot of people say they don’t know how to get walk up and, honestly, it’s really nerve wracking. So here’s a guide written by a nervous dork on how to make things easier and less daunting. And remember…
Take the initiative
Everyone says this because it’s true. If you’re not taking the initiative you’re not getting RP more than once in a blue moon.
But in the event you don’t feel like it, have a good solid search info
I often see a number of search info’s that only say “Walkup welcome!” or “RPer” or some variation. If you’re standing in the bar with your RP tag on, I figure that’s what you’re there for. Knowing a little about the character be it occupation, disposition, or appearance helps me gauge if and how I want to walk up.
Ask them if they’re down
Yeah they might say they’re down for walk up… But they might also be tabbed out. I’m guilty of this. Plus there’s nothing more disheartening than walking up to someone and getting ignored. I can’t think of many instances where I’ve been ignored or turned down when I send a /tell. Plus it gives people time to prepare! Not totally necessary, but helpful.
Have a hook
The truth is there’s a lot of power in a good hook. How you approach someone IC can make or break a conversation. Here’s a few I can think of off the top of my head:
- “Spare a girl a light?” Let me tell you, I use this one all the time. In fact, more often times than not Lafey has a light but she wants to strike up a conversation. “But Ette!” You say, “My character isn’t a smoker!” Well don’t fret, because you can take this hook and twist it around. Maybe your character needs a mint. Does your character wear glasses? Well maybe they left their handkerchief at home and need one to clean them off. Hell, have them ask for the time. It’s just got to be small and innocuous.
- “Oh that outfit is to die for!” Let’s be real, how many times have you been walking down the street and thought “woah, that shirt/dress/outfit looks nice!” Probably a lot. There’s a good chance you feel the same way about glams or appearances in game. Have your character notice! People like compliments and you can follow it up with “where did you get it?” Bam, you’re in a conversation. Works for hair and tattoos, too!
- “What are you in for?” Probably works the best in bar RP. Maybe they just want to drink, maybe they’re looking for a conversation, maybe they want to people watch, or perhaps it’s a waystation for their merc work. Won’t know until you ask!
- “Is this seat taken?” If someone is sitting next to an empty seat in game there’s a good chance they want walkup. You’ve got to follow this one up with something, though. Ask them how they are. Ask them if they want a drink. Tell them your character’s name.
- “X, is that you?” A risky move but rife with comedic value if someone can riff off it right. Have your character mistake their character for someone else. It doesn’t need to be another PC and could just as easily be some offscreen character. Sometimes things are embarrassing! Embrace it! Have your character recover by starting up a conversation with this new and vaguely X-like stranger.
Yes, and?
A common improv tactic, make sure the other person has something to work off of. Ask questions! Make comments that can be easily commented on! Things like “Yes” or “No” or “Fair enough” should ideally be followed up by other statements that can keep a conversation going. And note, if the other person is giving you nothing it’s totally okay to walk away. The onus shouldn’t be entirely on you to make the RP fun.

GMs:Zariyen & Brugran
Officers:Sashrui & KailekkDescription:
The Magical Mercantile is a caravan that’s always on the move, never staying in once place for very long. If your character is nomadic or just has the travel bug, this is for you! We offer protected escorts for travelers, adventures to new locations to see amazing sights, and treasure hunting! The caravan also runs as an informal merchant service. Our caravan organizers are talented vendors, each with their own special selection of goods to offer. Trying to sell or trade something of your own? We do that too! All prices are negotiable, and nothing is turned away for the right price!Roleplay:
We try to have at least one RP event per week. Events normally last 2 to 4 hours. We use a combination system of /emote and /roll for combat scenarios. Guild membership is not required to join a caravan expedition at any time; if you see us traveling, feel free to walk up. The more, the merrier! Event locations always vary due to the caravan theme. Portals and 2- or 3-seat vehicles are available to lower level players who are in need of assisted transportation.
Additional Information:
Outside of roleplay, we support and give assistance for questing, dungeons, farming old content, camping for rares, and any other methods of simple fun in our ragtag family. We have a member-exclusive Discord server with text channels for out of character chit chat and event coordinating, and voice channels for anything ranging from shootin’ the breeze to dungeon runs. How to Apply:
Admission into the guild has no requirements for level, race, class, or spec, though we ask that persons under the age of 18 please do not apply. Please expect a small OOC interview and an IC guild invite. Whisper any GM or Officer for inquiries, send an in-game mail, or feel free to walk up in character! Try our guild if you love roleplay and are looking to make friends in a fun and relaxed atmosphere! Thanks for your interest!
Our next RP event is this Wednesday the 25th at 10AM server. We’ll be in Bilgewater Harbor continuing our current storyline!
Hello folks! The Tirisfal Troupe here, helping boost awareness for a dwarven made event, the Craft Fest! There’s no tumblr post for it yet, so we got permission to start one up for them! While the troupe has no part in this, we love seeing creative events like this, and encourage everyone with an Alliance side character to attend! Please help spread the word, because Dwarven RP is love!
(from their thread on the WrA forums: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/20743615855)
What: Greetings WA! The Steelgrasp Brigade, The Iron Brotherhood, and several of the other Dwarven clans wish to host a crafter’s festival to honor centuries of fine Dwarven craftsmanship! The Spring Fest was such a hit, we’re bringing it back again seasonally!
When: We plan to host the event from 6pm to 9pm server time, June 11th. Opening ceremonies will take place outside the “Cask and Anvil” next to the flight path at 6pm.
Where:The Great Forge of Ironforge, of course!
What you can do: Not a Dwarf? No problem! As long as you can appreciate Dwarven culture, you’re more than welcome to fill any of these roles.
- As a patron, you are welcome to roam around the festival grounds, enjoy the night atmosphere and some good casual RP! Come by and shop around, purchase fine goods from craftsmen and women around the forge. Enjoy great music, drink, and food! Even register to participate in our fighting pit sub-event.
- As a crafter, you can register for a booth to show and sell your wares! We plan to spread out along the outer ring of the Great Forge, allowing tons of space for different players to form small gatherings. Blacksmiths, engineers, scribes, even musicians and cooks are welcome! If you can craft something, entertain, wish to take on an apprentice, or teach your trade, you can register. Don’t worry, there are no fees or anything! We just want to keep track of how many people want to fill this position. Please get your booth approved beforehand! You can message me in game at any point or send your request via mail!
- As a host, you are welcome to participate in either roll, but you are also volunteering to help out where/when it is needed. If you wish to get involved in planning the event, please contact Bathildis in game! I look forward hearing from you!
PS: If you use the addon GHI, you’ll also be in good company at this event. We’ll have special wares available (I have a full bar, as well as a limited edition Festival Ale), as well as at least one bard playing live music throughout part of the event.
PPS: I’ll keep this post edited as events unfold!
Currently:
- Modarin of the “Cask and Anvil”, and Bathildis of “Steelgrasp Brew Works” are teaming up to provide you with the finest Dwarven food and drink available in the inner ring. They will also be providing some entertainment as well.

IC Info:
A tradition born on Draenor, the festive bazaar in Shattrath City was an annual occurrence that began only a few years after the city began to prosper. The proceeds of the bazaar primarily went back to the city itself in order to manage its well-being, expansion, and citizens as well as to aid Auchindoun and Karabor. Though the monetary gain was beneficial, the primary goal was to showcase the craftsmen and artisans of the draenic world, as they would come from every corner of Draenor, even as far as Farahlon, to exhibit and sell their best wares.Though the tradition fell out of favor following the orc incursion on Draenor, it has since been reinvigorated by the Draenic Coalition. By inviting local vendors from the greater Azerothian community, it provides a snapshot of the flourishing Draenic culture while also lending to an intercultural exchange with the denizens of Azeroth and beyond.OOC Info:

The Sass Squad
With the new year coming…
One of my resolutions is to shamelessly indulge myself in the things, and one of those things is writing. IRL has me majorly bogged down, but my motivation is slowly creeping back to me.
I’ve made a few sideblogs for certain characters, one of which I have big plans for since he’s a villain.
You can find them here:
- @malegarius-alvezir (The Ruthless and Remoseless. Lawful Evil)
- @relo-tappes (Of Blood and Deception. Chaotic Neutral.)
- @naserion-alanathos (Of Light and Justice. Lawful Good.)
The last two need to be updated, and right now Mal’s is semi-loaded with queued posts.
Anyway.

Attention friends and loved ones of the Coldwall Collective!
For five and a half years, Coldwall has been proud to serve WrA in our capacity through public events and roleplay encounters. In that time, we have witnessed fantastic things, been involved in brilliant events, and had the pleasure of interacting with some people and writers we will always remember.
However, with the launch of Shadowlands we have noticed that the server is not what it once was from our perspective. While there are still some fantastic guilds/people here, the life in the server has dimmed. This is not directed as a means to insult WrA, but more to acknowledge that it can not provide what we, as a guild, seek in our environment.
After much discussion across the officership and members, the decision has been made for the guild to move to Moon Guard.
We understand this decision is a fairly big one, and it is one we did not make lightly. It comes with all associated concerns and a healthy dose of nervous energy to boot. However, we feel that MG, especially with a large influx of former WrA members, is a server that can provide the environment for our members and subsequently our guild to expand, enrich, and thrive.
To everone on WrA. This isn’t goodbye. With how easy it is to cross servers, you will still be able to attend most of our public events and say hello. We are still going to be the Collective you know, so you can always feel free to poke us, say hello, or seek out ways to RP.
To everyone on MG. We know it’s your stomping grounds. We are not about to go in there and throw our weight around. We are ready and eager to provide the events, quality, and characters that people have come to expect from us. We are looking forward to what we can bring to MG, and what MG can offer us as well!
Thank you, everyone, for five and a half years of amazing RP. Heres to many years more in a new community.
We love you. And we’ll see you around.
