Yoongi has never been nervous in his entire life. He’s usually more of a mellow type of a guy who doesn’t like to show any emotion.
Walking to the library two girls from Kappa Alpha were checking him out. He knew they were, he always knew they were. He wasn’t like Taehyung or used to be Jungkook where they get excited over trivial things like that.
“Hey Yoongi,” both of the girls giggled waving at him.
Yoongi continued walking not giving them the time of day. He came here for one thing and one thing only. More like one person and one person only. The girls gasped at his reaction displeased with it.
Yoongi looked at the front desk and noticed it was only YN. Sana nowhere to be seen. Yoongi sighed in relief that Sana wasn’t there. Knowing YN would just treat him like any other student who just needed help at the library. He knew how she felt about people knowing about their situationship.
“Hi can I get some assistance.”
You looked up from your book and saw it was Yoongi. You rolled your eyes upon bud arrival.
“No,” you deadpanned going back to reading your book. Yoongi reached over the desk and grabbed the book from you.
“That was rude,” You commented. “Let’s hangout,” Yoongi smiled.
You rolled your eyes at him and stood up to get away from him,“Like I said I have plans with Sana.”
Yoongi followed you around as you went around the rows of the library trying to see if anyone misplaced any books anywhere.
“Cmon peaches I drove here just for you and even smiled at you what more do you want from me,” he whined.
You shook your head at him not wanting to give him the attention he wanted.
“Yoongi you look like a creep trying to follow me around like this.” “Peaches I just want to hangout with you. We don’t ever hangout.”
You grabbed a book from the shelf knowing it didn’t belong there at all you exhaled knowing it belonged to the other side of the library. “What’s in it for me?” you asked.
“We can get hot pot together,” He answered. “Look Yoongi I don’t have money right now to hangout.”
“I can pay for you,” he suggested earning and unimpressed groan from you. “I don’t need you paying for me.”
“Ok well we could just hangout.”
Once again you shook your head at his failed attempt trying to get you to spend some time with him.
“Please,” Yoongi pleaded grabbing your hand. Which caused your heart to race a million times faster than normal. You felt your cheeks heating up so you turned away from him. “Fine,” You mumbled. Yoongi grinned at your response finally able to convince you to go out with him.
“Let me just text Sana first.”
Every time you were in his car you were always in awe. His car was a luxury car which he probably got recently from his parents too. You weren’t used to something like this your mom barely got a new car and it’s nothing to fancy and your dad has been driving the same car he’s had for years because he refuses to give up on it. His car even has leather seats with seat warmers which has your mind blown
Yoongi parks at a cliff that showcases the city lights. With him turning off his car you shivered feeling the cool autumn air envelop the area. You just had to forget your sweater today.
“Are you off to murder me,” You joked.
Yoongi shook his head, but you watched as he tried to reach something from the back. Your heart race fearing he might actually kill you. You grabbed the door handle trying to open it, not wanting to die at this moment.
“What are you doing?” Yoongi now confused as to why you were freaking out in his car. You turned to see he has a blanket.
“I thought you were going to kill me,” You sighed in relief knowing your life wasn’t going to end at this instant. Except the only murderous thing that’s happening right now is the death glare he’s giving you.
You laughed at the way he was reacting to you“What? You were about to grab something from the back and you took me to this cliff. Who knows you might be some unknown killer?”
“YN I was grabbing you a blanket. Please and if I was murdering anyone it wouldn’t be you.”
You were hesitant to grab the blanket from him. It got you curious why he had that in his car. It’s kind of a random that he has it in your opinion. Yeah you’ve been in his car, but it’s not like you actually looked in the back to see what he has in there. You never bothered to anyways his car was clean, so you just assumed there was nothing special in the back. Who knows who’s used that blanket before.
He was still holding the blanket and rolled his eyes when he noticed you were giving him a weird look.
“What now?” he complained.
“I don’t know what you’ve done with that blanket or who you’ve done with that blanket.”
“Listen I have a blanket because I left it at the recording studio. It’s my favorite one too so you’re lucky I’m letting you borrow it,” He defended himself giving up and just wrapping the blanket around you.
You guys stayed quiet and didn’t bother saying anything to each other causing you to just go on your phone. You didn’t mean to be rude, but why did he even bother asking you to hangout if he wasn’t going to talk to you anyways. It’s not like you hated Yoongi, but you guys aren’t anything
“Soooooo. How are you?” Yoongi said.
“Fine.” “Why are you being difficult. I’m just trying to be friendly to you,” Yoongi sighed in defeat.
“No reason. Ok. But back to who you’d murder. I have a feeling it’s Remi or Jungkook they’re pretty annoying,” You said completely ignoring how he’s defeated which made Yoongi rolled his eyes at your comment.
“What’s up with you trying to insult them when they’re not even here to defend themselves?”
Looking at him and just hearing the tone of his voice signaled that you hit a nerve.
“I’m sorry I’m not the biggest fans of them,” You mumbled.
“That doesn’t mean you have to insult them. They’re still my friends at the end of the day.”
“Ok fine I won’t talk about them,” You said rolling your eyes.
“YN I enjoy your presence but you’re being dismissive of my feelings. I already asked you once not to talk about them like this and you still continue to do it,” Yoongi’s once quiet state was no disrupted with the sudden rudeness that came out of you.
“It’s hard not to talk about them. Everyone else does it and it’s not like you don’t complain about them you
do it on social media,” You tried to defned your case one why you acted that way trying not the upset him even more.
Yoongi scratched his head and let out a sigh that you knew was more of a huff. He took one of your hand and looked at you to say “That’s because they’re my friends our friends do it as a joke. At the end of the day only we can do it.”
“I promise I won’t do it again if it really bothers you that much,” You caved in seeing that it mattered to him a lot.
Yoongi was not one to show emotions but seeing him like this showed it was a sensitive topic. As much as you didn’t like his friends you have to respect him still. Even if he doesn’t show his emotions it doesn’t mean Yoongi is heartless.
If anything you were in the wrong. Hes the one that invited you to do something with hi, but you not only rejected it but you’ve just been rude the whole time. Instead of talking to him you just went on your phone. Then you go off to insult his friends like it was nothing. You were better than this, but you just let your pride get in the way of you again.
“I’m sorry for how the way I’m acting and being rude to you,” You apologized.
Yoongi gave you a puzzled look and asked, “No snarky comment?”
“No I didn’t realize I was being rude to you this whole night until now and I’m sorry. You just wanted us to be friends and you’ve been nice to me this whole time, but I’m just being rude,” You admitted.
“You’re ok YN I understand. You’re right about us not really knowing each other so I get why it’s awkward. I should’ve brought you out to eat instead of here. I’m sorry,” Yoongi replied.
You were too caught up in trying to avoid him that you didn’t actually admire the view. The place may look suspicious with it being empty, but you couldn’t lie this place was beautiful. It outlooked the city. You always admired the city, but sometimes it was too much for you. Sometimes it’s nice to take a step back from all the craziness and the people that the city had to offer. You gasped seeing the stars. This spot really did outline lights which you normally wouldn’t get anywhere else
With the silence and you lost in your thoughts. Yoongi was admiring you. How the night light was only shining you up; it was outlining your beauty. Yoongi always knew you were an intelligent girl, but you were also beautiful. No one compares to your beauty. It was natural and he knew he was getting in deep.
“Yeah I go up here a lot when I want to be left alone. You’re actually the first person I brought up here,” Yoongi said breaking the silence.
Knowing that made your heart swell. Yoongi may have been, in your opinion, nicer than his friends, but that doesnt mean he’s still not a frat guy. You’ve heard stories about not just his friends but him too. As much as you know he scolds his friends for mistreating girl just by sleeping with them and kicking them out it doesn’t mean hes any different.
You joked with him, “what not even your flavor of the month.”
It wasn’t really a joke it was your jab at his heartbreaking ways. He may not sleep with a girl or two every week like some of his friends, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t have his flings. He was the one known to have a new girl every month. His sneaky links only last a month until he gets tired of them. He’s not very committed is what you heard. You yourself don’t know why you agreed to this arrangement.
Yoongi rolled his eyes at your jab and said, “Really you’re going to call me out like that. I just said you’re the only girl I brought here.”
“What I’m just saying the truth about your monthly new girl.”
Yoongi leaned closer to your seat and place his other hand on your cheek and rubbed it. He took a strand of your hair and placed it behind your ear. You may have been intimate but this was different it was a different kind of closeness.
Yoongi leans to your ear and whispers, “Like I said peaches. You’re the only girl I’ve brought up here. We’ve been sleeping around since summer so I don’t want to hear any of you flavor of the month bs.”
“T-thank you for bringing me here,” You stuttered.
Yoongi leaned back to look at you, he smirked at your reaction. You were loss for words with the way he’s acting. He liked that reaction out of you though. You always had a snarky comment.
“Cat got your tongue,” Yoongi grinned. The cat literally did get your tongue. That cat being Yoongi.
Yoongi may be a quiet man who is very selective of who he speaks with, but he knows how to make a girl nervous. Which honestly shouldn’t surprise you. He’s introverted there’s no doubt in that, him being a flirt and cheeky will catch anyone off guard. Maybe he was the one that taught the younger ones how to work their way through the ladies.
“So what do you do up here?” You asked finally finding the courage to speak.
“Whenever I have writers block or just need inspiration or get away from all the chaos I go here and write new music or just admire the view. And I always turn my phone off. Technology is great don’t get me wrong. However, getting away from all the social media and this is better for you mentally.”
Hearing the no phones off instantly made you turn red. You were embarrassed. Yeah you have been rude this whole time and you used your phone too when he has a new technology rule. It’s not your fault though. He didn’t even tell you about his rule.
“Sorry. For being on my phone,” You apologized.
“No you’re all good.”
“So if we’re going to keep hanging out like this and be friends. Do you at least want to tell me about you besides the fact that you’re made of daddy’s money and you’re a rapper?” you asked.
Yoongi smiled at your question. It warmed his heart knowing that you wanted to take your friendship out of the bedroom now. He wanted to see you besides the sheets and it’s slowly coming true for him.
“Alright peaches you better be ready for a long story of my life.”

The bar was sleek, a prim employee standing behind it, creating fruity drinks for a few girls giggling with a singer you recognized. The entire back wall was filled with bottles of the most expensive drinks known to mankind. Bottles of whiskey, tequila, vodka— every kind and it overwhelmed you, unsure of what is in your budget for the night.
“Would you like something to drink?” The sudden voice of the bartender makes you look up, straightening up your posture.
“I don’t suppose you have some soju?” It’s a half joke, and you’re glad he catches on.

He chuckles softly, “the cheapest on the menu is the margarita.”
You let out a sigh of relief, “thank god. Could I get one of those?”
“Of course,” he sends you a kind smile. “Coming right up.” The man turns away, focusing on making your drink, letting your eyes continue to run about the place.
The walls of the place are a sleek dark brown, no indentation or scratch anywhere. There were a few pieces dangling down from the ceiling, creating such a glittery light that you found captivating. It was fairly quiet, only some individuals speaking to one another, a few laughs when the conversation turned funny. It was a pleasant place.
You’re turning your body back to the bartender when your eyes latch onto a familiar figure. Walking towards you is the man you had held so near and dear to your heart for so long. The man you had stalked on Twitter, smiling bright as you came across a selfie with his gummy or bored smile. He looked the same, besides the slight rocker aesthetic he had in high school. His hair wasn’t sticking out in every direction, rather, it sat at the top of his head, shiny and fluffy. He didn’t wear the dark eye makeup he wore either, face smooth and fresh.
But his eyes. They were the same. They creased up when he sent you a smile, like all those times you two hung out in your bedroom and he laughed at your silly antics. The times you stood across the student body, nervous to give a speech, and he managed to help you relax with that damned smile. The one you felt yourself melting under as he stood across from you.
“Yoongi.” Your own smile is bright as you pick yourself up off the chair. He doesn’t say anything, rather, his eyes are trailing about your face, trying to take you in. He doesn’t seem to believe it’s real either, overwhelming feelings from the past rushing at the both of you. It’s not resentment like you had thought it would be, it was nothing but happiness and excitement. Taking things into your own hands, you wrap your arms around his figure, his cold leather jacket pushed up against you.
He doesn’t hesitate wrapping his own arms around you, chin laying atop of your head, taking you in completely. “It’s been so long.” He mumbles, feeling his chest rumble with every word.
“It has.” Your voice is shaky, with nerves and slight fear. You feel absolutely insane for loving being in his hold. It was if the two of you weren’t parted for ten years, getting back to where you last were before it went wrong. It was unbelievable how much of a hold he still had on you.
You hesitantly pull away, sitting back down onto your seat as Yoongi takes the one right beside you.
“You look the same.” You begin. “You’re just missing that messy hairstyle and eyeliner.”
“That was a look,” he laughs, thinking back to his high school days. “My mom was so happy when I grew out of that phase.”
“It was cute.” You smile at him, grabbing the drink that had been placed for you. “Had all the girls swooning.”
He scoffs with a laugh, “you and I both know no one swooned over me. They were all scared of me.”
“Aw come on,” you tease. “They wouldn’t ask you out but they definitely looked for too long when you walked by.”
“Hmm, I’m not sure I believe you.”
“Why would I lie?”
“To stroke my ego?”
“I know, you know I don’t need to stroke anything, your ego is through the roof.”
He shakes his head, “me? Never.”
“Oh, really? Mr. Tongue Technology rapping about all the designer stuff he has.”
“Hey, I worked for that designer, you bet your ass I’m gonna rap about it.”
You can’t help but laugh at his childish demeanor. Despite the tough persona he put on, he was still the introverted Yoongi who liked stuffed bears on his bed and his mom to cut up his fruit.
When you first met him, he had cozied up to you almost immediately. Hoseok liked to joke that you’d end up dating in middle school, to which you both declined, blushing messes. Nevertheless, you two continued sticking to one another like glue — as did the others. It wasn’t until the summer going into freshman year that Hoseok’s premonition came true.
Thinking back, you weren’t even sure how it happened. One second, you were at camp, sitting at a bench with Yoongi during study hour. The next, you found your lips pressed to his. It was awkward, a stale kiss that barely had any passion, but the two of you learned together because soon after, your relationship was set. A true best friend to lovers trope that you liked to read growing up.
Only there wasn’t a happy ending. You didn’t end up together, time passed, heartbreaks healed and now, you were sitting at a bar, chatting about the happenings in each other’s lives. You weren’t married to him like you thought you would be at eighteen, you didn’t own a house with him, you didn’t have kids with him — you had nothing with him. Nothing but the hope of rekindling your many years of friendship.
Yoongi managed to convince you he’d pay for drinks, and scolded the bartender (who he’s friends with) for scaring you with the prices. In a more sarcastic way than snobby, he assured you it wouldn’t make a dent in his wallet. Hesitantly, you gave in, drinking the same expensive thing he did.
Now, you’re 28 years old. You’re not the most lightweight, years of experience piling up, but the quality must have been amazing, the mood turning lighter the more the two of you drank. Your bodies drew closer to one another, laughing over another story of yours from New York and your previous coworkers. What seemed to get to you the most wasn’t how good he looked or how sweet his smile was (although they do play a hand.). It was how enthralled he was on you. He watched your lips move as you spoke fervently about something you found fascinating. He nods, telling you to keep going, eyes not leaving you once.
And you’re weak. You’re a weak, weak person for the guy you hadn’t wanted to let go in the first place. He was so sweet and he was the same Yoongi you knew and loved, only much more attentive. It was exactly what you wanted from him to begin with.
Perhaps it was also the fact that you hadn’t slept with anyone in such a long time, but god, you wanted him badly. And you had to be an idiot to miss the way he wanted you just as much.
It’s how the two of you ended up in his huge apartment, dragging each other’s clothes off as hastily as possible. Your lips connected once free, toppling onto his all too big of a bed. You only pull away when you pull on your own hair, a loud laugh coming from the two of you at the awkward moment. But it doesn’t deter you, rather, it fuels you further.
Heart full, laughing at any awkward exchange, you two share a night that could either make or break your shared futures.
