Thank you for this. I’ve been really distressed about the discourse saying he was racist/homophobic/sexually harassed people, and I haven’t had the energy to do more of my own research, so I appreciate someone with a broader knowledge sharing this information.
I lost my uncle today. He was my favorite uncle to be honest. He was the one who taught me all about comic books and the Marvel Universe. He was an amazing artist. He would sketch pictures and send them in the mail to my grandma all the time when he was away. I would always ask him how to sketch something or how I would do this artisticly. One year he gave me a how to sketch comic book super hero’s. I still have it and would use it all the time. I feel bad because I was going to call him the other day to ask him what he knew about the ‘The House of M’ and how all this would link in to the MCU. I never got the chance to ask him. He will be really missed..
so I actually received this text about a week ago, but I held off on sharing it, as a small part of me thought that maybe this was just some cruel joke- that maybe it wasn’t real, that he would start posting again and it turns out that everything would be normal and okay. many of you, especially in the frev community, probably only knew @marat as nothing more than a tumblr mutual. I myself am one of those people. maybe there are some others here who were closer to him, who didn’t know about this yet- which is why i wanted to share this here. i honestly don’t have much to say rn, i’m not the best with words but maybe i’ll add something more later. and if anyone else would like to add something: please, by all means feel free to. ❤️
I don’t usually just write on here, but I read a fic the other day that was SO GOOD. It was well-written, and the characterizations were on point, and the “Chapters” said “1/3″, so I was super excited for more, and I kudos’d it and bookmarked it, and meant to write a comment, but I was at work, and couldn’t, so I told myself I’d do it later.
And then the author deleted it, and I’m so, SO sad, because it was their first Kylux fic, and I’m really hoping they haven’t given up completely on writing for this fandom.
thoughiseemtame, your fic “Here’s to You, You Old Wreck” was wonderful, and if, against all odds, you see this, I want you to know that your voice is a welcome addition to this fandom. I was really shocked that there weren’t more kudos or comments, and I wonder if it just randomly slipped through some bizarre crack, or if the majority of the kylux crowd has moved on to Gravebone or Chirrut/Baze or other. But you are GOOD at what you do, and I hope you weren’t put off because the response wasn’t big enough. It was such a good fic.
