it was the day before the release of his debut album on soundcloud. david “d-Diddly-dawg” strider had been hyping up his best friend’s upcoming release on instagrant every day for a week before it was set to premiere on streaming services worldwide. Listeners all over the world had already excitedly pre-ordered the album through david’s smart music link aggregator of choice, which he had directed them to using his “link in bio.” many had done it upon david’s prompting without having even listened to any singles from the album. everything was all set for the mayor’s big day. david d-Diddly-dawg, the mayor’s agent and best friend, smiled and luaghed in a carefree way as he carried a box in one arm labelled “Tim Hortons” and a steaming cup of McDonald’s black coffee in the other. he had gotten products from two different chains because he knew the mayor hated Tim Horton’s coffee after they switched coffee suppliers and cheaped out on their coffeemaking process after being bought out by a Brazilian investment firm. his red eyes were glassy under his shades as he skipped to the mayor’s studio door. it had a plaque with the words LIL MAYO engraved. he was so happy for the mayor. the mayor was a star. david laughed and laughed. He tried to kick the door open with his shoe, but the mayor had left it closed. Finally with his arms in an awkward position, and balancing the Timmy’s box between his knee and the doorframe, he was able to turn the doorknob and crack the door open. The donuts fell around and crashed onto one another inside the box as it began tipping over, but he quickly put his arm under it and held it again. “L’il mayo!” David said joyfully as he nudged the door open all the way using the tip of his shoe, and then he looked up. and his steaming hot Macca’s coffe fell to the floor and was wasted, and the donuts were also made dirty on the floor.
I started this a while ago wanting to try out fabric textures again. Sort of like the pieces I did last year: PMWVARPM2
I like messing with this painting style but all i wanna paint with it is exiles lol. i’m trying to use softer colours and control my saturation. I’m also obsessed with the idea that the underside of pm’s wrappings are still slightly golden on the underside since the sun hasn’t bleached them as badly. That only really carries over well in this style.
A commission I’ve been doing reminded me of this, I drew it in early 2020 but never posted it because I didn’t like the colours. I tried tweaking them a little bit today. pm is trying to look at her stamp collection and wv is being a blanket hog.

At long last, I got to get a shoot with my favorite Mayor ever! We first wanted to get a shoot as these two at Holiday Matsuri around a year ago, but we had to postpone it until this past Anime Weekend Atlanta!
