Cover art by Peter Elson for Mutant by Henry Kuttner. It was reused in Galactic Encounters: Aliens in Space by Stephen Caldwell (Stewart Cowley), where it depicts an inhabitant of a planet orbiting Proxima Centauri. These may be Proximans of the Terran Trade Authority Handbooks (which have the same author and many of the same artists as Galactic Encounters), though the universes are never explicitly linked.

There’s no consolation for so much horror.

I know this little drawing won’t help our afghan sisters. All I can do is hope for them to stay safe and wish they’re able to leave that country. These days I’ve felt more privileged than ever to live in a democracy, and I just hope they get the help they need.
