Aries: They try to appear tough and badass because, deep down, they have very big and soft hearts. They fear being taken advantage of and they don’t want to, in their perspective, “allow themselves to be hurt by someone” and so, they put on the charade to protect themselves.
Taurus: In my experience, it seems Taurus is always the lesser-recognized sign; no one is out right neglecting this signs’ existence, it’s just not really given the attention it deserves. On the outside, a Taurus is generally a very reserved person, you’re not going to know a lot about them unless they’re willing to trust you - and they don’t trust easily. Deep down, they fear what they can’t take on themselves - a Taurus appreciates a slow, well-understood and controlled method of living their lives. When something comes up that they can’t deal with in their own special way, they begin to shut down. They need their own control to function in a difficult situation.
Gemini: Gemini is often considered a very, flaky sign. Let me specify how incorrect that is. Gemini’s entire purpose is to learn, to grow and understand; they can be a little, let’s say, two faced? But it isn’t with bad intent; rather than “not having one personality”, they’re simply more open to the world, and will take on different people and situations in a unique way every time. Being an air sign, of course, this means they prefer to be aloof and “above everything”. It isn’t that they don’t care, they just don’t know how to show it in a way you’ll understand and accept.
Cancer: Cancer has always been charaded as a very motherly, loving and down-to-earth sign. A lot of their personality is swallowed by people interpenetrating them in only one light. Yes, they can be motherly, loving and down-to-earth. But they’re still people with a novel’s worth of personality. Cancer are, by design, very emotional people, and have an emotion-biased perspective on life. They’ll set aside their job and important tasks to be available for a friend; they’re the person in your life who is always trying to be your pillar in difficult situations. Cancer may be the most emotionally developed of the signs, they understand the feeling of hurt, regret, difficulty and stress, and they don’t want the ones they love to experience that. If they could take your pain from you, they’d do it in a heartbeat out of love for you.
Leo: Leo is often painted as a very proud, boisterous, glamorous person who loves to show themselves off - the person who thinks their shit doesn’t stink. Yes, there are people like that regardless of astrology, but not every Leo is that negative of a person. Leo can be a very generous, kind person who wants to see their friends succeed. Their showy outer personality isn’t them trying to look good for their imaginary cameras. They can be some of the most insecure people of the zodiac, and they don’t want to publicly state that. In flaunting themselves, they’re trying to hide their insecurities from others, to avoid letting them use it against them. While some of them are very extroverted, loud and sing-song, an equal number of them are pretty down-to-earth, friendly and loving people who just want to see their personal world, involving the people they love, grow and flourish with their help. (I tend to draw parallels between Leo and Capricorn; while Capricorn is a lot less obvious about it, they love their friends and want to be the reason the people they love flourish. They’re both loyal to the death and very determined people, in somewhat similar but still very different ways.)
Virgo: Hear me out - these people are not all clean freaks who vomit at a single speck of dirt, and they are not all little introverted babies who sit in a coffee shop rereading the Twilight series with a cup of mocha every Sunday afternoon after church. Yes, some Virgo are like this, but they aren’t that generic and basic. Virgo looks to have fun in a way that doesn’t make them feel shameful - they are considered the virgin, but not necessarily in a physical manner. They can be innocent for a long time, they can approach taboo subjects very carefully, and doing wrong things can really hurt their sense of self. They simply want to feel comfortable with who they are, and intend to do that by simply being a good person - some of the few people who don’t tread too close to the wrong things.
Libra: A common complaint about Libra is, they’re all very preppy, fake and think they’re better than everyone. In truth, Libra co-shares Venus with Taurus. Essentially meaning, Libra is a very kind and loving sign, who wants to show their passion for what they love through more physical things. If they love their hair, they’ll want to style it and make it look cute in their eyes. If they love their friend they want to give them small gifts; generally the people with photos of friends in their locker at school. However, Libra is still an air sign, and as common with air signs, they’re a little, let’s say, shy with their feelings. When a Libra loves, they love hard; they know this, and they’re hesitant to allow themselves to become close to people who may hurt them, and in trying to protect themselves, they may choose to hide behind a curtain of being a bitchy little shit. (I promise they’re not as bad as people make them out to be.)
Scorpio: Oh boy, here we are. The reason I started work on this. Okay I gotta spoil something for everyone - Scorpio are not all about drugs sex and murder. I know shocking. Scorpio are very prying people, they want to know what’s going through your head. Not out of some creepy curiosity but, because they want to understand you better. They don’t act like sex crazed murderers because they are one, they just like the way it makes them feel. They enjoy it, it isn’t hurting anyone. While they are very sexual people, this doesn’t make them easy, or a bimbo/himbo. As a water sign, they are sensitive and emotional, however, they’ve perfected the art of hiding what they consider their weaknesses from the world. They can appear very purely focused on their own personal gain, but really? They’re loyal to the end and love their friends with everything they have - they just don’t want to be hurt. And, isn’t everyone like that?
Sagittarius: As the sister sign of Gemini, you’d think from the start that these are very obvious people with a straight forward method of life. Sagittarius need their freedom to explore their horizons and grow as a person; the way they see it - they have their entire lives to grow. No rush. They’d like to perhaps travel abroad to seek freedom, they don’t want to be pinned down too early. They tend to have the persona of a very fun loving individual without a care in the world. Truthfully, Sagittarius people are very deep thinkers, they always have a lot on their mind. They want to understand so much, they want to push out of their little box and see everyone and everything for what it all is. If I had to summarize Sagittarius in one sentence, I’d say, Sagittarius enjoy the fun and easy times of their lives, but they know deep down they won’t always be happy like this, and will soon need to move on to new parts of their lives.
Capricorn: Oh yes, the stickler of the zodiac apparently. While they may not be keen to show it. Capricorn are very loyal and loving people. Yes, they are focused on what they believe to be important - work first. They may not really show it, but they also love to kick back and have fun. They just, don’t know who to trust. Their reputation is important to them, similarly to a Leo’s. They want to get ahead in life and become someone important; they want their hard work to pay off in one way or another, and won’t rest until they feel they’ve achieved their goals. They just need some hugs and kisses and blankets and pillows and cute romantic movies and pizza. (No bias but dear lord I love Capricorns you’re all so sweet and I would die for you. Please marry me.)
Aquarius: Ooh, here we are, the quirky people! Aquarius enjoy setting themselves apart from others - they refuse to be an average Joe, they seek to diversify themselves. Less of an alien thing and more of, showing that they aren’t just like everyone else. They want to do more than just live, pay taxes and die. They want their close circle of friends and the rest of the world to know that they are strong, independent and one of a kind. And in doing so, they tend to have that, “I’m not like other girls” vibe to themselves. You’re doing a great job in becoming your own unique person, but trying to shove it in everyone’s faces doesn’t convince anyone. Show, don’t tell. (And don’t do drugs to feel different.)
Pisces: Crybabies? Occasionally. Pisces, like Cancer, is a very emotional sign. Unlike Cancer, however, Pisces are oddly double sided. On one hand, they’re soft little rays of sunshine who just want to bake cookies and have sleepovers. On the other hand, they seek out the taboo; generally the people who do drugs, less out of feeling cool and more out of trying to experience what they’re told not to. They rebel, not out of demanding change but, because they don’t want to be kept in a protective bubble, keeping them from the real world. At a younger age they don’t understand how ruthless the world can be, and they force themselves into this world prematurely, and in turn they can be very affected by this. They have this feeling that they haven’t experienced the darker parts of life, and either in morbid curiosity or a need to not feel like a baby, they explore the parts of life that are against the rules for a reason.

Neptune in the 1st: There is a sometimes unrealistic environment around the development of self. Many warn of being impressionable, that there are no boundaries for the self. In best case scenario one could argue the ego sees past itself with this placement. This person has a more immediate understanding of the human condition and especially feelings of others. From this can be a healer, poet, helper, maybe empath BUT from this can also be a struggle to find self. In a more negative scene this can be someone with less boundaries, they find it easy to become intimate and vulnerable. Intimacy can be a weapon they wield or blocks for relationships to build or both.
Neptune in the 2nd: Let me guess have you heard that this placement is bad with money? They always are left wanting, even if well off? They are impractical? While I won’t say these associations are completely untrue I understand if you are tired of them. With Neptune in the 2nd things like art/creativity build up their worth. If we look at more specific associations - photography, music, dancing, and poetry. Religion or spirituality could help them feel more bounded to the real world. In the 1st intuition is seen in the self but I would make a claim this placement has a lot of seen or outward intuition too. Here this exist in a tangible way. Their intuition interacting with reality. We know substances are associated with Neptune, there comes a warning that substances can boost their self-esteem but in a house connected to the senses there can be more of a spiritual experience with some substances, of course I know this is a controversial take. Finding great value and meaning for the self in something as innocent as food and drink could be part of this interpretation with substances + senses + value. In terms of “ego”, this allows one to find value in elements other than the material. Ego does not have to rely on objects of wealth. There is depth in a house that tends to get a very surface level reputation.
Neptune in the 3rd: Known to be elusive in communication and connection. A natural knack for creativity which really comes from an idea that they do best with creative ways to learn. The ego here doesn’t get hung up in words and intellectual dogma. There is a way to share feelings and thoughts that reaches others. Expression and learning are important to them especially in an artistic sense such as poetry and song writing. Easily distracted and can lack discipline but they are highly adaptable and this may be seen most in their childhood as well as times when they are open to learning. They help others understand them, the nature of emotions, and fellow humans through communication.
Neptune in the 4th: Things like pride or selfishness are likely to not get in the way of what matters most - family or the feeling of finding belonging. Attachment to the changeable and an unstable home life is associated with this placement. But intuition and feeling is nurtured from their past somehow. This is a highly sensitive individual who was not programmed into being misled by the ego. The flip side of this is that their sense of self might not have been solidified growing up. Selfish wants and needs were not always catered to and this can have both positive and negative outcomes. On the positive this is someone who can be giving and easily sympathizes with others, may even have a sense of humility. But a lack of boundaries and self-focused needs being met can still have consequences that allow them to be easily used and hurt. Learning that change is the only constant at an early age can be an area of strength for them.
Neptune in the 5th: Could get carried away in romances and easily lose sense of self within them BUT while I don’t want to downplay those risks, if there was a house with plenty of positives for Neptune it is this one. A creative, intuitive, and emotionally in-tune planet sitting in the house of pleasure, play, and creativity. Neptune can be about romance and in the 5th… here the ego dissolves into foam of fantasy feelings and expectations. Disappointment and crashes down to earth can await but at least here the soul, the individual gets to feel something truly special in their romances. “Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.” There is a greater understanding about themselves and about others when they dive into the arts/creative expression. Pleasure, the joys of life are felt on another level, maybe even a spiritual one.
Neptune in the 6th: Creativity, imagination, and intuition in the mundane is a gift for this placement. Prone to hypersensitivity and over stress is one burden of this placement but that hypersensitivity still has the ability to grow emotional and inner strength. Here the ego is dismantled by a desire to truly serve and help others. Teamwork and honestly a humanitarian aspect exist in this house. Neptune is here with a connection to human emotion and spirit. They give back on multiple levels.
Neptune in the 7th: Alright, loss of self in a relationship, easily being influenced and used, lack of boundaries - this does exist. Don’t boil down Neptune in the 7th to just this. First their ability to read others is uncanny. They know what others need and want. Part of them is driven to please or care for others and this has an ability to be a good thing. The ability to adapt to others can be a skill. They share themselves with many and while this has its downside, while they should learn to protect themselves, this can still be great. One book describes the 7th as a place where we share our humanity. Giving many access to one’s humanity, is a positive. Online I know many love to throw around the word “mirror”. That element has a place here. They can at times act as a mirror for another, helping them see things in themselves and to learn. Of course “being a mirror” is not anyone’s responsibility, something to keep in mind. Relating to another can be a spiritual experience and in many ways, shouldn’t it be like this? In the 7th, the ego is dissolved into others.
Neptune in the 8th: Yes their intuition is powerful, it is strong. Can we get an applaud for this? Many books and articles I see warn of a lot of danger and negatives with this placement. A warning of being taken advantage of financially is talked about frequently. If I had to distill it down, the warning would be this: don’t let anything good slip away from you. Appreciate what you have in the moment and watch out for the wolf in sheep’s clothing. Here walls are peeled away in terms of intimacy, giving, sharing, fears, and the unknown. Not an open book but they have no fear of vulnerability. It is their hunches that will protect them because without it there is just an urge to merge and to share. From this comes the danger of being deceived. The ego doesn’t fear appearing weak, showing flaws, getting close. Maybe it isn’t always that the ego is dissolved but shared. The self and its expectations, wants, needs are shared to whoever flashes vulnerability back at them. I would look at this as a place of bravery.
Neptune in the 9th: Something to be said about their idealism! Spiritual learning and subjects can take a seat here. “[there is the call] towards ritual and mysticism - or the illusions that pass for it.” - Judy Hall. I think the 9th house is an area to be careful of in general - but that is a talk for another day. Be cautious of falling for spiritual illusions and being misled in the area of knowledge, education, morals, and religion. Be careful of blind faith. But Neptune here is in touch with the spiritual realm or the human spirit. Their own inner faith is not that of over confidence but a faith in the universe. Their beliefs overcome any of the ego’s needs or insecurities.
Neptune in the 10th: Attracted to creative/artistic careers or careers that can heal/help/serve others - yes. okay. let’s move on. Here we see the ego, the self being shared on a mass level. It is “dissolved” into the public sphere. No boundaries can be useful though, giving so many over access, honestly a possible good position for gaining “fame”. But I don’t like to label certain placements as the “fame” placement. You will find celebrities and public figures with all kinds of charts. But the idea that the public has easy access to them can be a real threat to be aware of too. They can be far reaching in their community or career. They make an influence on others which has its positives and negatives. They connect with others easily on a platform, through their art, or through their work. On an even larger scale, when thinking about society here is someone who can help make the world a better place…. or could set in motion harmful ideologies and emotions to cling to. An ability to see the wounds in society is a strength that would benefit many of us.
Neptune in the 11th: So sensitive to the collective, to the group, maybe even the mood of the room. There is compassion for their fellow woman/man. Being easily fooled/misled in a group setting can be a big negative. Being used by friends is a reoccurring theme. This is a very cordial, amiable, and accepting placement when it comes to dealing with others. Intuition among the collective and within the social realm is strong and this will help them to overcome issues with deceptive or unhealthy friendships. The ego puts down its sword and shield to connect with others in the most straightforward way. It can forge spiritual bonds with people that is unsullied by heavy expectations. Depth can be found in friendship, in a group, in an organization, among an array of relationships and depth doesn’t have to be confined to romance or family.
Neptune in the 12th: If there was a place the ego would metaphorically “die”, this would be it. Tapping into intuition, creativity, spirituality are strong but out of all that, I want to put the spotlight on how this gives someone a very deep ability to connect with the human condition and the human spirit. Kindness and forgiveness are learned here. I emphasize learn, not inherit, not natural, learned. Understanding when one is a victim that needs to be saved and when one needs to move past being a victim is important. Strength will always exist in the non-tangible. Strength exist in uncovering what is hidden. Strength comes from understanding and accepting what is within.
Neptune is an idealistic planet in nature , represents dreams , sacrifices , faith , non material values , universal love , compassion . Here I forgot to add also spirituality and occult . On the downside , it can cause delusion , guilt , being deceived and fog ( in a way we actually can’t see for ourselves the truth ) .

the only interpretation that led me to really understand the twelfth house was through alyssa sharpe. i love poetic description about the 12th house and i think that it’s fairly fitting for what it encompasses and symbolizes, but it never hits me in a way that causes me to really feel it. what i interpreted of her video on the twelfth house is that it is a house of self-sabotage, where we feel compelled to restrict ourselves, and where we feel viscerally wronged in our lives and personality (whether this belief is valid or not- and plenty often, it is not). this is a house that is draped in neptune flow, so whatever we find in this house is adorned with delusion and false expectation. we do not feel the reality of what is in the twelfth house and it is something we must teach ourselves throughout our whole life. we must undo the disillusionment we have given ourselves with planets in this house and & understand how to cut through its cunning escapism to look at things how they really are.
sun in the 12th house: self-sabotage in the ego. individuals with this placement often feel like their ‘true’ self was never allowed to shine in childhood or adolescence, and as a result these are very fragile & introspective people. others might feel like they are walking on eggshells around these people because oftentimes this placement indicates an easily wounded individual. every word that is not positive is felt as an attack to this person. the lesson with the sun in twelfth house is to assert their personality, and learn criticism is necessary for growth and not an attack on the individual.
moon in the 12th house: the thoughts and emotions of the individual feel invalid in this house, and through feelings of perhaps desperation or a demand to feel rational, in-control, or on the other extreme of the spectrum, just noticed, this placement can indicate either extreme coping/burying mechanisms of the emotions, or bursts of energy and rage and instability in an effort to be seen. balance is needed in this house, and a support system of people who will assure them of the validity of their feelings and help them express them in healthy ways. a danger of this house might be self-medicating, and this must be worked on as well.
mercury in the 12th house: it is not uncommon for those with mercury in twelfth not to trust their instincts, for they are not confident enough in their mental capabilities to steer them correctly. they may look to others for guidance and acceptance, validating what they have to say. similar to a retrograde mercury, this is a placement that causes the native to over-critically examine each word to come out of their mouth, so much so that they may not say hardly a thing. on the other hand, they may feel compelled to say too much in search of anyone to listen and pay attention to their words. the mind may be clouded by nothing but their own doubt, and through learning to value one’s thoughts does the mind begin to achieve clarity.

jupiter in the 12th house: this is thought of by many (including myself) as a ‘guardian angel’ placement. some idealize this placement; to me, it is ironic that such is the case because blind optimism can be a trait of this placement. not in a traditional sense, but rather of one failing to set in place a set of checks and balances for jupiter’s unyielding desire to expand and declare philosophy. as such, those with this placement may feel rather attacked when suggested to view the world with a more critical eye. as stated above, wrapping neptune delusion around jupiter viewpoint can cause some harsh extremes when viewing others’ morals and decisions, so a lesson here would be to double-check yourself. open your mind and allow yourself to be more willing to hear other viewpoints, and be open to thinking you might even be wrong about some things.

uranus in the 12th house: the genius and innovation of uranus, in this house, does not reveal itself except for in times of deep introspection and staggering personal overhaul. i saw the phrase ‘the closet rebel’ tacked to this placement, and it is valid. these individuals want to be extraordinary, but an internal (sometimes external) force makes them feel as though their gifts are sabotaged. the need to be great is shoved deep inside, often due to feeling that their individuality and ideas do not deserve to be brought to light. an embrace of their own unique strangeness is needed to learn from this house in order to realize the true potential of their ideas.
neptune in the 12th house: an atlas complex is found with neptune in the twelfth house. this individual feels so compelled to help everyone around them, they can be delusional of how much energy they can afford to bleed out. as a result, there are potentially persisting feelings of guilt or a loss of identity. spreading oneself too thin is a common potential for those with this placement, and as a result they may self-medicate through escapism or self-destructive acts to deal with the confusion, emptiness, or guilt they may feel. one most view the subconscious objectively, if only to understand their limits.

These descriptions also count for the nodal axis (if retrograde) to a lesser degree because retrogrades often relate to lessons that need to be learned in order for the native to “evolve” as a person, which is a big theme of the nodes.
The 2nd House is all about ownership and value. While this can mean literally such as possessions and property this also means taking ownership of yourself and what is yours. While this does speak to personal accountability I would like to focus more on owning your faults, your strengths, your past, your future.
Neptune in this House may influence one to take on too much, easily feeling guilty, owning up to things that are NOT theirs to own metaphorically. Their sense of self-worth can be fragile or hard to pin point. But there is a great opportunity to grow and connect to self-worth through solid boundaries, using their imagination as a resource, and gaining a sense of stability and value from their spiritual and sensitive side.
Sun in the 2nd doesn’t hesitate to take what is theirs or shine through with confidence in terms of what they value and their own self-worth. The Sun which is connected to ego can be powerful in the 2nd, “taking ownership” is likely not a problem. Self-expression may center on expressing their values, owning up to their experiences, and sharing hope of making their own destiny.
