I decided to answer these questions in one post, I hope it’s okay. :)

So you guys are interested in Austro-Hungarian relations? Oh boy….Do you really want me to recite three books worth of history? Because let me tell you, half the history a normal Hungarian student learns in school is about Austria and us.

Let me summarize our relationship through the ages in a ‘short’ recap:

800-1000: first meetings between the two, Hungary being an invasive threat that had to be stopped

1000-1526: Austrians slowly get used to the Hungarian neighbours, but still see them as a threat to their existence - there is commerce forming between the two though

-1526: the year Austria decides to take claim of whatever is left of Hungary (he has been looking for an opening like that for a few centuries)

-1526-1711: Austria treats Hungary like any other underling of his — at one point (1529) Hungary is ‘kidnapped’ by Turkey but Austria gets her back (1686), Hungary has enough of both him and Turkey though and wants to be free (rebellions)

-1711-1848: Austria is willing to listen more to what Hungary has to say for her rights in the Empire but he refuses to grant many of her wishes (while he also promises lots of things and then goes back on his words) which angers her to the point of declaring independence (48-49 independence war)

-1849-59: Austria takes revenge on Hungary for her deeds with an iron fist, trying to get his control back over her but it only sours the relationship between the two even more

-1859-67: Austria realizes that his crumbling condition as an Empire weakened him and so he has no other choice but to seek a compromise with Hungary (ironically his greatest support in the Empire) so the two form a dual monarchy

-1867-1918: Austro-Hungarian Empire, golden age, cultural exchange, prosperity, etc., Hungarian people slowly warm up to the formerly hated emperor, “the romantic era” (as described by Austrian article)

-1918-1921: first world war, the Empire is unprepared for a modern war and quickly crumbles from the inside, the Entente decides to tear the two apart, Hungary realizes that it is necessary and accepts it (even fights for it) but Austria makes two desperate last ditch attempts to reclaim the Hungarian throne

-1920: Trianon for Hungary, Saint-Germain for Austria — both national traumas - Hungary loses all her former glory and part of her identity while Austria barely makes it out alive (that’s why he wanted to unify with Germany)

-1921-1955: second world war, Anschluss - Germany becomes Hungary’s new neighbour which freaks Hungary out, later Austria becomes neutral in 55 while Hungary gets taken by Soviet Russia

-1955-1989: relations are severed for the most part but Austria tries to help out Hungary in any way he can while still maintaining his neutrality (taking in Hungarian refugees in 1956, also accepting Hungarians who go to get work in Austria)

-1989-today: relations are back on track, social-economical exchanges, the two are very influental to each other in political issues too

Most Hungarians of today have a good opinion on Austria, but watch out because on national Holidays (march 15, oct 6) these same people will hate on Austrians a lot. That’s just how it is: we have a love-hate relationship.

So yes, I also think that he has a face that just demands to be kissed and slapped at the same time.

I personally love the country and it’s people very much! Thanks for the questions! ❤️

Let me recommend you a webtoon I really like guys because this story needs a bigger fandom.

TACIT by KimDazzi is a brilliantly drawn and written comic. It got me hooked even though I’m a picky webtoon reader and I don’t like the zombie-apocalypse genre. But this one is chef’s kiss.

Unique art? - check

Intriguing plot? - check

Cleverly built world? - check

Well-written characters? - check

Entertaining? - check

Have I said the art is beautiful? That was the first thing that caught my eye. (My try at it doesn’t make it justice…T-T)

Plus Rovan is so relatable to me right now that he became my emotional support character despite being an asshole 99% of the time. And his friendship with Bevrian is another chef’s kiss.

Anyway, check it out if you like zombie stories with a crime-mystery storyline, peppered with wholesome romance and bromance and a unique artstyle.

Guess who pulled for Xiao!

I’ve been saving up for him for months and now that my dream came true and I have him and Albedo, I’m finally satisfied.

(PS: this is my first time drawing him so I’m still a bit unsure about his design…)

Good luck for everyone! :D

(Also happy new year?)

I know it’s been weeks now, but I still can’t get over this moment. That smile…damn. Loved this event (and will probably cherish it for a long time).

A summary of my art from 2021. Quite a few catastrophes happened this year (at least to me and my family) and it wasn’t the best year of my life but I hope to see better days in the future. Also I’d like to draw more if possible and maybe finally finish the book I’ve started writing.
I thank each and everyone who has followed my work during these times, sent good wishes on my birthday or just simply showed appreciation because it honestly meant a lot in hard times. (I know I can be kind of a ‘ghost’ and more often than not delay my replies, but it’s due to my weak social-skills and bad time-management so bear with me.)
I sincerely wish everyone a blessed 2022, and please take care!

Sometimes I sit down and have the patience to draw something nice.

I dedicated today to my current favorite tiny man, Albedo. He is such a beauty, I couldn’t pass the chance.

Snow fell last night and the mountains through my window reminded me of Dragonspine.

And of course these two smug cuties. I know everybody is having trust issues since the latest event but hey, we love Albedo nevertheless right? …Right?

I’ll continue to love him anyway. Albedo is one of my fav characters in the game and he has an interesting storyline.

He also came home so I’m overjoyed. ☺️

zsocca55:

I’ve been working on this for a while but haven’t got to finish it until now because of being busy with other things. Now it’s finally done! Third sketchdump of my original characters doing what they are best at: being chaotic.

(‘100 good deeds’ is a book I’m currently working on and have been for the past 10 years of my life so it’s precious to me.)

Reply to @tairin about who these characters are:

The one with the black cape is called Peter W. Crawford, who was an earl in the 19th century and was cursed with becoming a vampire despite hating the smell and sight of blood entirely. He keeps lots of secrets but is very charming anyway.

The one in butler outfit is his loyal butler,Tom Barrow who was cursed alongside him but nobody really knows what his powers are because he never uses them so everybody assumes he doesn’t have any. He makes very nice tea.

The one with a black hoodie, full cap and golden chains is Sylvester Huygens, who was cursed with becoming a reaper despite wanting to commit suicide. He is mad at the entire world and has a problem with everyone. Also has attitude problems and anger issues.

The cheeky one with a mole under his eye is Yestin Weifeld, who was cursed with becoming a horse so he sought out people who might understand him. He is basically the “car” of the team and it is often forgotten that he is actually a person.

(These four formed a team to somehow help each other break their curses but they fail at it miserably.)

The fair haired one with the goggles on his head is Folke, a mysterious tinker who owns a weird shop and is quite well-informed in everything. Nobody really knows who he is but he always shows up in dire need. In order to get his help you need to form a pact with him so beware that friendly smile.

The darker haired girl is Alice Wind, the actual protagonist of the story, who in order to save her friend (who was taken by mysterious creatures) makes a deal with mentioned individuals above (under certain circumstances). The team however causes more trouble for her than it is worth and she decides to help them break their curses somehow.

The fairer haired girl is Liv Conyers, daughter of a wealthy family, popular in school and also has a little fairy helping her. Her connection to fairies first looks like a blessing but the girls soon find our that fairy folk have a truly dark side.

Introducing The Rules

Because I have to.

Ok, so it seems like I need to make some things clear once again. Here is the list of dos and don’ts on my blog since there are many new people following me, and while I’m thankful, the fact is I don’t know you guys and we probably see the world from a very different angle.

So to avoid me coming to tell you to please kindly go on your way, I give a fair warning beforehand:

Don’t bring modern political issues to my blog or my posts.Ican’t stand and won’t stand it. My blog is not a forum where you can practice your activism. Go elsewhere.

I don’t care about your political opinion, ideas, woes…etc. I really don’t. Using Hetalia characters to justify your political view is pretty insensitive. People with different opinions exist in this world and you don’t take them into account when you do that.

Don’t bring any kind of conflict to my blog and posts. I have enough drama in real life, I don’t need more on a virtual platform.

This blog welcomes cultural, historical infos, facts…etc. because that’s what I like to read. If you have something of yours to share, then by all means go ahead and message me, or comment under my posts or anything!

This blog is not a strictly Hetalia centered blog, I’m a multifandom person and my focus shifts from time to time. I always draw and post of things that are currently in my focus of interest. Plus I’m currently working on original projects of mine and post about it too. Don’t be surprised.

I also disappear from time to time, due to having a life, duh. This hiatus can last from one week to whole months. My return depends on how much free time I have. And my mood.

Itry to answer all questions submitted to me, but my speed and time for drawing is still limited. Please be patient, I will answer you sooner or later and I tend to reply to more simple questions sooner as they can be quickly done. Oh, and not all of my answers come with a drawing. If I have a good idea I draw, if I don’t I just answer in words. No other reason.

Well, that’s all you have to keep in mind. With this The Rules are active on this blog.

Otherwise, all of you are welcome just please leave your baggage outside the door! :)

He is so extra lmao. That’s why I love him I guess.

“I wish it wasn’t like this, but we can’t celebrate while the world is on fire.”

This year’s Friendship Day was delayed due to the current state of our neighbourhood as many of you already know. I’m greatly saddened by these news (and almost everything lately).

My only message for this day: Lets stay strong Polish brothers and sisters, and lets stay together. God bless Poland and Hungary.

Thanks for the kind words! :D

The Ottoman Empire’s rule of Hungary takes quite a few pages in our history books and we have many hero figures from this era who are still pretty popular up to this day because they fought valiantly against the Ottoman invaders.

For example: the Hunyadi (Corvinus) family, Kinizsi Pál, the Zrínyi family, the women of Eger (during siege, it’s a famous story), Dugovics Titusz (he is just a legend though)…etc.

The Ottomans were the first great invaders who posed a real threat to Hungary and so protecting our lands has become romanticized in these centuries. Many poems, plays, books take place in this era. The most famous one is “Eclipse of the Crescent Moon” by Géza Gárdonyi.

The main problem we had with Turks was the alien culture and religion they brought with them. They managed to leave some cultural and material traces in our society and lands but the people never really accepted Turks with wide arms. On the contrary, nobles who allied with the Ottoman Empire were mostly regarded as traitors.

Ottomans were quite tolerant with our religion though, they only had us pay extra taxes. Although they built quite a few nice buildings here, the destruction they caused in villages and towns were quite numerous too. Not to mention the number of deaths.

Turkey is the reason the free part of Hungary had to rely on the Habsburgs and Austria to reclaim the taken lands. And of course Hungary lost her freedom for centuries to come after everything was said and done. So basically, we regard the Ottoman Empire as the power that took Hungary’s glory away.

But! Today our relations are entirely different. Ever since the 19th century when a theory was born that Hungarians might be related to Turkish nations, the image about Turkey has also changed in Hungary. (Said theories were never proven though.) Hungarians grew interested in Turkey and so many academics travelled there to get to know the country and its culture better. Also many emigrants sought refuge in Turkey after the Hungarian independence war.

Later on we fought on the same side in WW1 and after our losses the two were equally dissatisfied and made a friendship pact in 1923. Relations are quite stable ever since and we have many researchers on both sides who study these country’s past in the present too.

Thanks for the questions! :3

I know Valentine’s day was yesterday but whatever. I love these two, they are adorable.

Rovan is a mood (with or without sunglasses)

Easily the best character of TACIT for me.

Ruby from TACIT (by KimDazzi)

She is such a fun and lovely character, not to mention how unique her design is. (Especially the sparkly eyes!) I seriously don’t understand why some people have problems with her personality. She is a teenager who grew up behind walls, protected by her father. Of course she is a curious little shit who runs around making impulsive decisions. That’s how inexperienced younglings like her kind work.

Ruby and her hasty decisions move the plot forward and she isn’t dumb or overly emotional at all. I think she is just the right balance to the other more dark and serious characters the series offers. Seeing her always brings a smile to my face. ☺️

Bevrian is No.1 Best Dad while Rovan is No.1 Worst Dad of the series so far. Change my mind.

(I usually don’t draw ships I don’t ship myself but I saw you put Japan and Norway in one sentence and this picture was the first thing my mind made up. XD)

So you guys wanted me to reflect on Norway and Hungary’s relationship….well here I am.

Except there is not much to say. T-T

We scarcely met in history, if ever, and diplomatic relations only exist between us since 1920 when Norway officially accepted the Hungarian state as an independent state. The two has developed economic and commercial relationship ever since and today even cooperate in environmental protection campaigns.

Hungarians do have an opinion on Norwegians though. We think that they are pretty open-minded, pragmatic, optimistic, and work really well in groups and trust easily. They think any problem can be solved in some way and are not aftaid to get to work and see it done. They are also pretty self-confident and know what they want. They are also very proud of their history and their independence.

In most cases, Hungarians always paint Norwegians in a positive light, like a model country, while also pointing out why we sadly can’t be like them but should try still.

So the main point is: Hungarians like Norway but they have a very idealised picture of him in their minds.

What do Norwegians think of us though? I haven’t found any info related to that so if there are any Norwegians out there, please share an opinion.

I hope I answered your question to some extent though.
