29-year-old Democratic Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has become the youngest woman ever elected to Congress. She was elected to represent New York’s 14th Congressional District by a landslide Tuesday, defeating Republican candidate Anthony Pappas with 78 percent of the vote. She spoke with us at her victory party:
I do believe that our president has abdicated his responsibility as a leader of all people in the United States. He has very clearly drawn lines into which Americans he champions and which Americans he doesn’t. And that is why I feel we have a very important duty to not only fight against the spread of anti-Semitism, racism, xenophobia, but that we need to affirmatively champion the causes of these communities and our neighbors, because this is a—this is a very dangerous time in our democracy, and this is a very dangerous administration that we cannot take for granted. And we need to make sure that we are shoring up support of these communities in very tangible ways.

Alabama’s Republican state senate just passed a law to ban abortion (even in cases of rape and incest). THIS IS NOT A DRILL!
P.S. AOC’s tweet mentions that abortion would become a felony under this bill. As of now, it would make it illegal for doctors to perform the procedure, and nothing has been said about making it a felony for the women patients who undergo the procedure. Doctors could face up to 99 years in prison for helping their patients terminate unwanted or unviable pregnancies.
Apparently, not everyone is excited about rising political star Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. The Democratic rep from New York’s 14th has had a target on her back put there by right-wingers for a while now, but a new report from The Hill indicates she may soon see pressure from another side: her own party.
“What I have recommended to the New York delegation is that you find her a primary opponent and make her a one-term congressperson,” an anonymous Democratic lawmaker in the House told The Hill. “You’ve got numerous council people and state legislators who’ve been waiting 20 years for that seat. I’m sure they can find numerous people who want that seat in that district.”
AOC addressed the idea that folks have been waiting two decades for her seat on Twitter, writing, “That broken mentality, that public office is something you wait in line for, instead of earning through hard organizing, is exactly what voters want to change. Shows you how disconnected some folks here are.”
These two ladies could help to destroy all of the toxic masculinity in this country. With them in charge they could help turn every man in the US into a submissive SIMP that would cater to every woman’s needs and be easily manipulated by any woman. Keep voting for female politicians when ever you can. Eventually all men will lose their rights and be put in their place ware they belong. If you completely hate there politics and everything they stand for that is event better. It will make you so much more of a submissive loser and wimp when you go into the voting machine and pull the lever for them. You will be forfeiting your man card forever. Let’s face it, a pathetic Beta Male like you should have never had one in the first place.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: I do know that because of who I am, there are characteristics that people would be predisposed to think about me. It’s easier to label someone like me as emotional, or explosive, or whatever. But what I think is powerful is the fact that [my campaign uses] such unapologetic language while remaining composed. People in my opponent’s camp have accused me of running a negative campaign. I find it very interesting that we have now interpreted holding people accountable as negative. I never called him a name; I have never insulted him. But because I talk about the fact that he takes money from immigrant detention center profiteers, because I talk about the fact that he has been under ethics investigations within his role—both in Congress and as the chairman of the Democratic Caucus—because I’m holding him accountable for what he’s done, that accountability is being interpreted as negative. Because he’s a Democrat, and also because he is powerful, and we’re somehow not allowed or not supposed to talk about the misguided actions of people who are in power. Our democracy is designed for that to happen. Our democracy is designed to speak truth to power. Our democracy is designed for elections to be these kinds of conversations and referendums on our leadership.
