Red pumpkin toadlet (Brachycephalus Pitanga)
Brachycephalus pitanga, the red pumpkin toadlet, is a small and brightly coloured species of anuran in the family Brachycephalidae. It is endemic to Atlantic rainforests in São Paulo state of southeastern Brazil
This red pumpkin toadlet was filmed at Serra do Mar State Park - Santa Virgínia Nucleus. In the images we can see two of his defense behaviors, which is rubbing his paw over his eye and opening his mouth.

This is the first time I have managed to get a good photo of one of these fellas and it led to a rabbit hole of awesome animal facts that I would like to share with you now.
- Tentacled snakes are the only species of its genus
- Only snake with those fancy lil barbels on its face
- Some species produce venom specific to their preferred prey

We’ve been away for 2 weeks (first time so long since cats are with us) and we were wondering if T&B would be happy to see us or rather ignore us for a few days. Well they were overjoyed and won’t let us be ever since we came home :)
So sweet of them :)
We got to make our biggest dream come true and travelled to the land of ‘nekos’… that is Japan ;) Ohhh how we loved it there!!!
