If any of my followers are into Avatar….

Airbenders can hear inconceivable frequencies and hear every sound as complex as a drawn out symphony.

Waterbenders can smell things that would be faint to anyone else.

Firebenders learn the deep complexity to the spectrum of light from childhood.

And Sokka… is pretty handy with a boomerang.

(or, bending has a place in even the most mundane places of a bender’s life, but the spirits didn’t leave non-benders without any advantage)

Anyways credit to moi and yeah no reposting anywhere.

So excited about the Avatar Studios announcement! I had some time after some freelance so here’s ya bio (ik Aang doesn’t really firebend in the first few seasons in this outfit but fire fun to draw)

Since Sokka was young he hated the mark on his forearm, the mark of his soulmate. Small red hand print was placed on his forearm, he had tried to scratch it off, he once tried to burn it off but katara caught him before he could. He had just decided to cover them the best he could. He felt ashamed, how could he ever fall for someone from the nation responsible for his mother’s death. The nation who was trying to conquer the world. As the years went on Sokka’s hatred of the fire nation grew.

In the fire nation, you were training to be a guard since you could remember your father forced you to practice your firebending for hours on end. By the time you’re fourteen you are told you are joining the prince during his banishment to protect him, he had been banished for a year and a half and needed another guard. You accepted the position, glad to leave the fire nation and see some of the world.

Now it is another year and a half later and you stand on the deck of the ship watching the prince’s uncle train him, when there was a beam of light, which Zuko claimed to be the avatar and told the crew to go to it. You readied yourself for whatever Zuko had planned. Putting on the armour you had adjusted to show the blue handprint on your upper arm. The fire nation had a law requiring all soulmate marks be shown. You stared at the blue mark for a moment knowing that most people in the fire nation would be ashamed to hold a mark of anything other than the fire nation. You had never really cared and wondered if your soulmate cared.

You had been instructed to stay on the ship with General Iroh. You were shocked when you saw Zuko returning to the ship with a small twelve year-old boy. You were even more shocked when you heard the voice of another guard stating that the avatar had escaped. You watched the scene unfold mostly hidden as the avatar fought Zuko and as a flying bison came into view, with two blue figures. You gasped when you saw the avatar fall into the water and come out with glowing eyes. The avatar had managed to knock out all the crew that were attacking him and knock Zuko off the ship.

The two people that were on the flying bison came next to the avatar. You could barely hear their conversation.

“Hey, Katara,” the avatar said looking at the girl.

“Hey, Sokka,” he said looking at the water tribe boy, “Thanks for coming”

“Well,” Sokka said, “I couldn’t let you have all the glory.” you let out a small laugh but the three of them don’t seem to notice you.

“I dropped my staff,” the avatar said and Sokka got up to grab it. You watched as prince Zuko attempted to pull himself up with the staff. Katar helped the avatar onto the bison just as some of the crew was coming to. She tried to water bend at them but froze sokka feet to the ground instead. Within seconds, you are running toward him. As you get closer to him he swings his boomerang at you. You grab his forearm, stopping the assault before he swings the avatars staff at you. His face was filled with an expression you could only describe as shock and horror. You released your grip on his arm.

“Just let me help,” you place your hand on the ice, warming it til it melted away. In that time Katara had managed to freeze the other guards. They had all climbed on to the bison before you felt a hand on my upper arm, pull you up just as Zuko was pulling himself on the deck of the ship. Everything happened so fast you could barely keep up. Sokka had pulled you onto the bison, Appa.

Later in the night at the camp the four of you had setup, you sat by the fire you had started. Aang and Katara had already gone to sleep but you were kept awake with the thought of your family. Even though you knew that they didn’t care about you most of the time, you still wondered how they would react,

“Hey,” you heard a voice behind, turning your head slightly to see Sokka taking a seat next to you, “thanks for earlier,”

“It was nothing,” you simply responded.

“Also,” he said, taking a deep breath, “Sorry for almost hitting you. I didn’t know you were trying to help”

“I know it probably weird to ask but um what.. Uh, where is your soulmate mark?” you could feel the blush on your cheeks as you touched the blue mark on your upper arms.

“Oh,” he said fiddling with the sleeve of his shirt before pushing it up. Showing a bright red handprint where you had grabbed him earlier.

“So your my, um we are soulmates” you said. His eyebrows raised.

“When you tried to hit me, I stopped you like this,” you said grabbing his forearm like you had done earlier in the day. Your hand fit perfectly with the handprint on his arm. His face heated up as he looked down at your upper arm and placed his hand on the handprint you had on your upper arm.

“When I grabbed you to pull you onto Appa” he said.

“Yeah, Why did you? Pull me onto Appa I mean” you gulped, looking back at the fire.

“I don’t know. I wasn’t really thinking at first but i just felt like you needed to come with us,” he said, looking at the fire as well.

“I was worried that something bad was going to happen to you,” He admitted, “because you helped me.”

“I guess I didn’t want anything bad to happen to you,” he said before getting up, “we should both get some sleep”

His hand was held out in front of you offering to help you up. You place your warm hand in his cold one, “Yeah we should”

The next morning you woke up feeling warm, you helped Katara fix breakfast. She eyed your soulmate mark as you did you tried not to pay attention to it.

“So your soulmate is in the water tribe?” she asked.

“Yeah,” you said a blush on your cheeks.

“How does your family feel about that?” you knew she was just trying to make small talk but it pulled on your heart a little.

“Disappointed like I could control it,” you said looking down at your hands.

“Sokka hates his,” SHe said. Your eyebrows furrow, Hated? He hated it, you thought.

“Really?” you said trying to act like it didn’t bother you.

“Yeah, he is ashamed because the fire nation killed our mom.” she explained.

“Oh” you could feel the tears in your eyes when Sokka came up to you and placed his hand on your shoulder, “you okay?” he asked. You just nodded. You knew Sokka didn’t want you as his soulmate. He wanted someone from the water tribe probably, he would have settled with someone from the earth kingdom but you were part of the nation that had caused so much pain.

The next time you helped set up camp and while everyone was asleep you slipped away to go on your own adventure. You did take one last look at the three of them as a tear fell down you cheek

“I hope you find someone better” you looked down at the sleeping Sokka before walking into the distance.

STORY: (1.2k)

Since you first got into a relationship with Zuko you understood the importance of his work. He would have loved to spend every waking moment with you but he had to rebuild the relationship that the previous Firelord damaged. He was working to rebuild trust with the other nations. You thought it might have gotten better after you two got married but most nights you went to bed by yourself and most mornings you woke up by yourself. Sometimes you weren’t sure that your husband ever actually came to bed.

You had grown used to his duties as the Firelord, after being married for almost two years. He tried to set aside as much time for you as he possibly could manage. The two of you had dinner together on most days even if he had to go back to his office after or even if you had to bring the food to his office and you both eat there. There were times he missed dinners, mainly when he was still in meetings with advisors, who were disagreeing with what he was doing most of the time.

Honestly you tried your best to accept your relationship for how it was. You love Zuko more than words could ever express. The day he proposed was one of the best days of your life along with your wedding day. It didn’t matter that most days he was busy because you loved one another. You lived for the mornings you did wake up still wrapped in his arms and the nights you were lulled to sleep listening to his heartbeat. Those moments were more than enough for you or so you thought.

However, when you found out you were pregnant you tried to plan this big thing. You had planned a date at the pond, feeding turtle ducks. You managed to get him a clearing in his schedule for an early dinner right around sunset. You had spent hours trying to convince him to have this date. You had considered just telling him about the pregnancy casually but since this was going to be your first child you wanted it to be special. You wanted to do something extra special for him. You wanted him to make time for this.

You spent most of the afternoon meticulously placing layers around the lake and setting up floating lanterns in the water. You got the kitchens to make Zuko’s favorite foods and desserts. You had set up a blanket with a basket full of all the foods that had been made. Next to it was a pot of tea and two intricate cups. The final touch was placing the gift box next to the picnic basket, inside the box was a red and gold outfit for your future baby. You thought that that was the best way to tell Zuko. Just as you finished setting up the last of the picnic, you saw Zuko’s assistant coming toward.

“Please don’t tell me, he is going to be late.” you practically begged the man.

“Firelord Zuko would like to send his regards; he is stuck in a meeting with the Avatar and the Southern Water Tribe Ambassador” He had sent you a small smile.

“So Sokka and Aang are to blame for this” you asked as you felt a small bubble of anger build in your stomach.

“Those are the two people he is meeting, Yes ma’am” he said, nodding his head. You took in a deep breath.

“You know to just call me (Y/N)” you said, “Is he in his office?”

“Yes (Y/N)” the man said.

“Can you light the lanterns please?” you asked, noticing you had missed a few and the man nodded his head.

You walked up to the office, knocking lightly on the door. Opening it slightly. Zuko didn’t even look up from his desk as Aang and Sokka were sitting across from him, both facing away from the door.

“I asked not to be disturbed” He grumbled lowly.

“Even if it is your wife” The three men looked back at you. Sokka and Aang stood up and ran up to give you hugs. Sokka ruffled your hair.

“Sorry, I have to miss our dinner,” Zuko said, “My assistant was meant to come and tell you.”

Sokka leaned closer to Aang and whispered, “That’s rough, buddy,” causing Aang to laugh until you shot them a look.

Zuko placed a kiss on the top of your head, “He did actually. Can I speak to Aang and Sokka for just a second, Zuzu?” Zuko glared at the nickname before nodding as you dragged Sokka and Aang out of the room.

“I don’t care what you guys are doing here, even if I’m happy to see you” you said, “I need my husband tonight” you said anger seeping into your voice. Sokka could tell you were quite serious about whatever was going on and choose to keep his mouth shut.

“(Y/N),” you heard Aang said, “This needs to be handled immediately”

“Oh is it important?” you asked and Aang nodded. Sokka could tell you were getting upset as you eyes narrowed on Aang, “You know what else is important Aang? I set up a date for me and my husband to tell him that I am pregnant and you both are here with him instead of him being with me,” you yelled a little too loud before covering your mouth, “Sorry I didn’t mean to say that.”

Sokka and Aangs faces were white as a sheet, “Sorry we didn’t know, (Y/N)” Sokka said. You said a slight prayer that Zuko didn’t hear anything but it was too late. You heard the door to Zuko’s office opening. Zuko’s face said it all.

“You heard that?” You asked really hoping he would say he didn’t but he nodded his head.

“You’re pregnant?” His face was full of shock and joy. You nodded as he wrapped his arms around you and picked you up spinning you in a circle, placing kisses on your face. You grabbed his face pulling him in for a long kiss.

“I think we can finish this tomorrow,” Sokka said, grabbing Aang’s arm pulling him away. You could hear Aang grumble something. Zuko places you on the ground, placing a kiss on your lips. The sun was almost fully set now.

“I’m sorry,” he said, “I promise I am going to make more time for you,” he said before placing a hand on your stomach, “And this baby”

“I had a date and everything planned,” You said, “This is not how I wanted this to go”

He laced his hands in your, “This is perfect” he said, “But I think you scared Sokka” he whispered into your hair.

“Wait til you see the pond,” you said, dragging him to where the picnic was set up. You both sat down on the blanket.

“THis is how I was going to tell you,” you said, handing the box. You watched his face as he opened the box seeing the small outfit. He had tears in his eyes.

“You are all I have ever wanted,” he said, planting a kiss on your stomach before wrapping his arms around you, “This is perfect”

SUMMARY: You were close with Zuko when he was Lee in Ba Sing Se and joined the group there too. When Zuko joins the group you are cold to him. You have a nightmare one night and wake up screaming. Zuko comforts you (Based on ask)

PAIRING: Zuko x Waterbender! Reader

Warning: Nightmares, Dreams about death

“I just can’t believe this” you huffed, frustrated. Your Lee from Ba SIng Se was the fire prince that hunted the avatar and yet here he is standing in front of the avatar saying he has changed and wants to teach him how to fire bend. The person is standing in front of you looks exactly as Lee did in Ba Sing Se but the things that Katara, Sokka, and Aang are saying it makes you question everything. You watched as Zuko turned and walked away from the gang. You haven’t heard much of what was said but you felt like you should go after him. He was Lee the boy from the tea shop, the one who knew exactly what time of day you were going to come in and always had a cup of tea ready for you.

You couldn’t continue to watch this. You turned on your heels and headed back to the room you had been staying in. you sat on the floor in front of the fireplace and watched the flames flicker. Cinders from the air landed around your feet. You laid on the ground by the fire and closed your eyes. Letting the warmth of the air lull you to sleep.

The next morning while you all were eating breakfast toph came crawling in with the soles of her feet. You and Katara began healing her feet. You could feel the anger bubbling up in your chest but you just couldn’t tell who exactly it was at. It could have been at Lee, no ZUko, you thought, or was it directed to the group because you knew that the person you knew could never in a million years hurt someone on purpose. Your anger grew even more when they suggested going after him because according to Sokka, “He was too dangerous to leave on his own.” With that statement you turned and left to go back to the room you were staying. In

You had barely even gotten a few feet away before you hear an explosion. Your head whipped around and you immediately opened the bottle that held your water, Running in the direction of where the rest of the group was. You look in the direction of where the explosion came from and you felt only what you could describe as shock when you saw Zuko on the ledge fighting the “Combustion Man” as Sokka called him. You weren’t as close to the rest of the group but when you saw Zuko fall off the edge, a scream escaped your lips. Combustion man Jumped down from the ledge and began attacking. Aang sent a tornado toward him as you and Katara form a wave and send it his way after turning it into icicles. You were so angry you couldn’t focus on anything the group was saying. You watched as SOkka threw his boomerang and hit the combustion man. Then you watched in shock as Combustion Man stood up and finally you saw COmbustion man blow himself up. You glanced up and saw Zuko pulling himself up by a vine, you let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding back and let the feeling of relief wash over you.

“I can’t believe i am saying this but thanks, Zuko” Aang said as Zuko approached the group. You kept your eyes trained on the ground refusing to meet his eye.

“Hey, and what about me?” Sokka said, “I did the boomerang thing”

“Listen, I know I didn’t explain myself very well yesterday.” Zuko said, his voice made your heart swell, “I’ve been through a lot in the past few years, and it’s been hard.” You looked up as he scratched the back of his neck, a habit you really liked.

“But I’m realizing that I had to go through all those things to learn the truth,” he said, “I thought I had lost my honor and that somehow my father could return it to me” He explained.

“But I know now that no one can give you your honor,” he looked at the group, “It’s something you earn for yourself by choosing to do what’s right. All I want now is to play my part in ending this war”

Zuko cast his eyes at the floor, “And I know my destiny is to help you restore balance to the world. I am sorry for what I did to you, Toph, It was an accident. Fire can be dangerous and wild. So as a firebender, I need to be more careful and control my bending so I don’t hurt people unintentionally.”

“(Y/N)” Zuko said, “I am so sorry I lied to you. I wish I could go back and do it differently. I am sorry I hurt you.” You couldn’t bring yourself to look up from your feet but you could feel his eyes burning into you.

“I think you are supposed to be my firebending teacher.” Aang said, “When I first tried to learn firebending, I burned Katara.” Aang explained for a while long but you had zoned out, you were pulled out of your thoughts.

“(Y/N),” Aang said.

“Sorry, I wasn’t listening,”

“Zuko lied to you, are you okay with him joining the group?” You heard the question and took a deep breath. You could Zuko starting to sweat. You could hear your heartbeat in your ears.

“Yeah, sure, whatever” you stuttered out before turning on your heels and walking wherever your feet lead you.

You ended up in your room before you heard Sokka outside your room, “Here you go, Home sweet home. I guess, You know, for now.” Sokka said, adding, “Unpack.. Lunch soon.”

You skipped lunch. Katara had brought some to your room when she realized that you weren’t going to show up. You practiced waterbending all afternoon and when dinner rolled around you thought it might be best to stay in your room again. This time Sokka brought you your dinner.

“It’s a bit awkward, isn’t it?” Sokka asked you.

“I guess,” you said, “I don’t know if Zuko is the person i met in Ba Sing Se, or the person who was hunting you guys for months, or just a different person entirely”

“I don’t know either,” He said before leaving the room.

You sat the food on a table before climbing in your bed and trying to fall asleep. You looked at the ceiling for what felt like hours before you finally managed to fall asleep.

You woke up sitting straight up in your bed, a scream escaping your lips. You brought your knees to your chest letting the sobs rip through your body. You heard your door open and figured it was aang or katara, since they were normally the people who slept the lightest.

“(Y/N), are you alright?” you felt the bed sink as you recognized the voice, Zuko. He put his hand on yours. You almost pulled your hand away but you reveled in his touch. Zuko put his arms around you. The sobs kept falling out for a few more minutes before you finally calmed yourself.

“(Y/N), are you alright?” he asked again, looking at you wiping a tear from your cheek. You shook your head. You wanted to lie but when he looks at you like that you couldn’t find it in yourself to lie to him.

“Do you want to talk about it?” you shook your head again.

“I thought you died today” You said trying to change the subject, “I thought you left me again.”

“Is that what you dream was about?” He asked. You wanted to lie and say it wasn’t.

“Yes, In the dream you were lying to us. You were here to kill Aang. You were going to but katara she used waterbending and pushed you off the cliff. I tried to stop her but I couldn’t move. It was like I was frozen.  Just like earlier when you feel off but…but,” You cleared your throat, “But you didn’t come back. I had lost you. I can’t lose you. I care for you too much.

“Oh,” he said quietly, “I’m sorry.” his arms wrap around you tighter pulling you into a hug. You let the smell of smoke and jasmine tea fill your lungs, calming you to your very soul. You could feel his warmth. You put your legs on either side of him sitting on his lap. Your head resting on his shoulder.

“Promise you wont leave me” you said quietly, pulling out of his embrace, “Please, don’t leave me” saying those words made you feel weaker than you have ever felt. You couldn’t bring yourself to look at him.

He grabbed your chin, lifting you face until your eyes met his amber ones, “I won’t leave you, I will do everything in my power to make sure I never have to leave your side ever again okay?” you nodded, a shiver running down your spine. He grabbed your waist lifting you and setting you on the bed as he got up and you thought he was about to leave but instead he walked over to the fireplace and lit a fire before returning to your side.

“I should head back and let you get some sleep,” He said, putting a hand on your shoulder.

“Stay, please,” you said, grabbing Zuko’s hand that was on your shoulder. You moved to the side before patting the bed next to you.

“Fine, but just until you fall asleep okay?” he said getting on the bed.

“Okay,” you said, laying your head on the pillow facing toward Zuko as he lays looking at you as well. You were soon fast asleep. The next morning you woke up on a very warm pillow but it was also hard. You realized that the “Pillow” had a heartbeat. Soon you connected the dots, you were using Zuko as a pillow. A blush crept on your face. You tried to lift yourself off of him and out of the bed without him noticing.

“(Y/N), Good morning” He said in a gruff voice, “I hope you slept well” he sat up in the bed and scratched the back of his neck. You were about to say some sarcastic comment but were interrupted by the door opening.

“Hey, (Y/N) have you seen Zuko,” Sokka asked before glancing at the man sitting on your bed, “Oh, I guess you guys figured it out” Sokka said before sending a wink in your direction and walking out of the room. Leaving you and Zuko with a blush on your cheeks.
