i should probably find it concerning how many of my favorite comfort shows involve hot murdery people
but i dont
“What drew me to it was telling a story about a dysfunctional mother and son where the dysfunction had bad things to it but also had a sort of larger than life bond that came out of the co-dependence. Some of that bond was beautiful even if it was a bad thing. I think initially that roped me in, and also one of my first novels that I loved was Wuthering Heights which was also very much about a bond between two people that was larger than both of them that they couldn’t quite figure out how to let go of it, and at the same time they couldn’t quite figure out how to live without it. How to let go or how to live with it. I think that sort of Gothic Romance of that book was appealing to me too in thinking about a co-dependent relationship between Norma and her son.” — Kerry Ehrin
god romero really did love norma with his entire heart huh
honestly FUCK the bates motel writers for not letting norma be happy for more than five fuckin minutes
