Momocon casting call

Now searching for Disney fans, cosplayers, musicians, dancers and actors for a Coco themed panel at Momocon in Atlanta, Georgia from May 24th through May 27th 2018

Seeking: any person attending Momocon who is a fan of Coco and would like to perform in a musical panel. No cosplay required. Actors must provide their own transportation/lodging

Desired (but not required) skills: Spanish speaking ability, ability to read music or play an instrument, formal training in acting or dancing. Guitar, ukelele, trumpet and percussion experience highly desired.

Compensation, (including, but not limited to free convention passes) may be available for some actors depending on experience and training.

About the event: Un Poco Loco - a Coco Sing-a-Long Celebration will be hosted by characters from the film, portrayed by cosplayers. They will lead the audience through a musical retelling of the film via live musical performance and staged audience interactions. Additionally the panel will showcase traditional Mexican music and will be presented in both English and Spanish, however participants do not have to be fluent in Spanish to be considered.

Found this picture on a parenting fail post and decided to photoshop out her son walking behind her so that I could post this here in hopes of finding her to be the star of my first movie, “Pride of the South: Pregnant trailer-park gang-bang whores.” If you know of her whereabouts, please put me in touch with her. We need to get started on her kids’ college fund. 

I wish … Madame Tracy (Marjorie Potts)fromGood Omens would be played by Imelda Staunton.

Tottering on high heels that look sadly incongruous on a woman in her fifties, she is always handy as a source of well-handled used tenners and much-needed square meals for the Witchfinder Army, which in its turn refers to her as “the Painted Jezabel” and “the Whore of Babylon”.

On all days except Thursdays, she exerts such discipline as she still can for a handful of old clients who turn up mainly out of habit or because they need a chat.

On Thursdays, Madame Tracy Draws Back the Veil with the asistance of her spirit guide Geronimo, who she fondly believes is the discarnate spirit of a wise and compassionate spiritually evolved North American Indian. Newton Pulsifer knows she is correct about the North American Indian part, yes, but privately considers she could have done some less sketchy research.

Shadwell tends to hammer on the walls during her seances, as he considers spiritualism is one dangerous step too close to actual witchcraft (why else does the Holy Bible call a spirit medium the Witch of Endor, hey? (Samuel, chapter 28:4–25) And Holy Scripture is never wrong, especially when it commands us not to suffer a witch to live! (Exodus 22:18)) and it affronts his Witchfinder’s soul. Tracy doesn’t mind this, as it gives her seances an air of added realism.

I wish … Anathema DevicefromGood Omens would be played by Emily Browning.

Practical Occultist and Professional Descendant living at Jasmine Cottage, Tadfield.

Anathema is a self-sufficient young woman with a Ph.D. degree. She is also a descendant of the ancient witch Agnes Nutter, whose prophecies are very important in this novel, and the closest thing to her ancestor genetic drift allows. During the events of the Apocalypse, she deals with it quite sensibly, if only because she knew it would happen.

I wish … Famine from Good Omens played by Ben Barnes.

A rider of the Apocalypse in Good Omens. He took the form of a thin businessman man with black hair named Raven Sable. He created nouvelle (which consisted of a string bean, a couple of peas and a paper-thin slice of chicken), D-Plan dieting and various foods that contained no actual nutrition whatsoever. He enjoys the paradox permitted by modern food technology: that people can eat “foodstuffs” which look, smell, and taste like food, yet contain precisely zero on any scale of nutritive value. Obesity entertains him: the concept that people can eat far too much and yet still die of food-related disorders. For the same reasons, wafer-thin professional anorexics (who our society dignifies with the title supermodels) are always a welcome sight to him. If you pointed out the existence of starving children in Africa, he’d be professionally flattered that you’d noticed. He has a major controlling interest in a fast-food superchain spanning the globe. In fact, he invented fast food burgers.

He is glad to sign autographs, adding impenetrable Biblical aphorisms and profundities. Well, if you know your Bible, you’d know the code: he sees it as a sort of Quality Control, affirming that he is scrupulously working within the limits assigned to him by a higher Power and which are clearly set out in the Book of Revelations, if you know how to read it.

Famine – who goes by the name of Dr. Raven Sable, at least during canon: if he’s had other names, they’re not mentioned – looks like a “pleasant, thrusting, successful businessman” (338). He’s thin, of course. He has black hair, a short black beard, and he dresses all in black. He has “dark grey eyes” (63). The International Express delivery-man finds him from the description of a “tall gent with a beard, nice suit.”

I wish … Pollution from Good Omens played by Tom Felton.

Pollution is one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse in Good Omens. Pollution took the place of Pestilence after the later retired because of the advent of antibiotics. He took the form as a young man with boyish features. While waiting for the Apocalypse, he caused oil spills and other forms of large scale Pollution.

“His skin was pale, his hair a faded blond, his eyes light gray. He was somewhere in his twenties at a casual glance, and a casual glance was all anyone ever gave him. […] He was almost entirely unmemorable” (64).

A later passage amplifies the description: “Farther down the riverbank sat a young man dressed all in white. […] His hair was white, his skin chalk pale. […] He looked like Victorian Romantic poets looked just before the consumption and drug abuse really started to cut it” (185). A little later, it’s specified that his hair is long (263).

I wish … Witchfinder Sergeant Shadwell from Good Omens would be played by Gary Oldman.

Sergeant Shadwell, the last remaining sergeant of The Witchfinder Army, is a rather antisocial person. He contents himself on banging on the walls of The Painted Jezebel next door, calling her the Whore of Babylon, eating the Sunday lunches she fixes (from a safe distance, of course), coming up with names for new Witchfinder Army members (Sergeant Cabinet, Private Smith, etc.), drinking condensed milk (which he practically lives off of), and, of course, ridding the world of those awful witches. Actually, it’s mostly that last one. So much so, actually that he checked the number of nipples Newton Pulsifer had before hiring him on as a Private. He is even known to pass over perfectly good supernatural happenings on the premise that it’s just not the type of thing witches do.

I wish … War from Good Omens would be played by Christina Hendricks.

One of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, the anthropomorphic personification of War appears a beautiful woman who always looks in her mid-twenties, with waist-length copper-red hair and orange eyes. She has been known as Scarlett and Carmine “Red” Zuigiber, and exudes a sensuality that is both terrifying and fascinating.

Wherever she goes, fights break out, and sleepy towns become war-zones, which made her last occupation as war correspondent quite convenient. Her motif (the object she was given by the International Express deliveryman) is the flaming sword. How it came into her hands from the first Adam would make a rather interesting back story.

She was defeated by Pepper during the final showdown.

I wish … Aziraphale (Cumberbatch) and Crowley (Hiddleston) from Good Omens.

Crowley - known as a serpent called Crawly prior to a name change following an unfortunate incident involving a man, a woman and an unidentified fruit (traditionally long held to be an apple) - is a demon, but not the kind with the Baron of Hell flaming eyes, trident and all the other traditional demonic trappings. Crowley is the kind of demon who would inflict mobile phone network outages, VAT and the M25 London Orbital on the world. In this respect he considers himself more of a “big picture” demon than his peers and superiors, preferring to bring a large number of souls a little closer to Satan than to consume completely one person.

Crowley shows a healthy disdain for the anachronistic methods and narrow-sightedness of his colleagues, particularly in the way they communicate with him (which often involves inserting their words into the vocal track of a Best of Queen tape which hadn’t been there a couple of weeks ago). He feels that Hell could learn a lot from humans, specifically their computer warranty agreements (a copy of which he sent to the Immortal Soul department with a note saying “Learn, guys”). As such, his closest confidant and possibly even his friend is a bookshop owner, and angel, called Aziraphale.

Crowley’s hand has been subverting history since time immemorial (or 4004BC, anyway) but his most prominent appearance was in Good Omens at around the time of the almost-Apocalypse.

Crowley drives a 1926 Bentley, which he adores, to the extent that he continues to drive it even while it’s on fire. Any tape left in the car for more than two weeks turns into a Best of Queen anthology. He wears sunglasses a lot.

Aziraphale - An angel of Heaven. There are three things people always assume upon meeting Aziraphale: 1) that he is English, 2) that he is very intelligent, and 3) that he is gayer than a tree full of monkeys high on nitrous oxide. However, heaven is not in England and angels don’t have genders unless they try, very, very hard. But one out of three isn’t bad.

Aziraphale was the original owner of the flaming sword, and was meant to use it to guard the eastern entrance to the Garden of Paradise. However, pitying Adam and the pregnant Eve, Aziraphale gave the sword to the humans. It finally ends up in the hands of War, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

Aziraphale has been a ‘field agent’ for Heaven for thousands of years, and due to being more in touch – and having more in common – with his opposite number than with his colleagues in Heaven, he has developed a rather flexible Arrangement with Crowley.

He runs a bookshop in London, where he only sells a book when he absolutely must. He is an expert on prophecy books, and possesses a few copies that have inscriptions dedicated to him

Sonic and Shadow investigate reports of someone or something in a cave that’s tampering with people’s minds. Will they uncover the mystery, or fall prey to the mind games?
