Happy Black History Month!
Mom Erica P. Shared her daughter Charlie’s photo with @becauseofthem and I had to share it too! She put her costume together with her grandma’s help and some pieces from her closet. How precious! Sending love to all our icons and heroes, past and present including Ms. Parks and then 15 year old Claudette Colvin who was arrested for not giving up her seat on a segregated bus months before Parks and ultimately was not acknowledged in our civil rights narrative because she happened to be a young mother. The Things You Affirm is an event centered around doing a self assessment of the things we affirm/speak into our lives. From the things we say about ourselves, our bodies, our personal life and so much more.
