Ive always been an iced coffee girl but lately ive been enjoying hot lattes! i spent some time reading and enjoying Coffee Days Whiskey Nights at @capybaracoffee this week and i think its my new regular spot! there are few things as reliably good as @tristamateer ’s poetry. i always seem to find myself reaching for her books when im sad or in a slump. even if its a reread of a collection ive previously experienced, her books always seem to be the cure im looking for. her newest book, when the stars wrote back. is no exception. its wonderful and empowering and is full of incredible illustrations to make reading it an even better experience. if you havent read this one, you definitely should.

Not sure if anyone noticed but ive been doing quite a bit of social distancing this year - and not just the coronavirus kind. I decided that I wanted to focus on being more present in my day to day life in 2020 because i was feeling very burnt out on this whole social media thing. Most of you know that I started creating content for the bookish world several years ago and since then ive held myself to impossible standards. Creating new content every single day for YEARS and it finally caught up with me. I started to hate what I was putting out into the world and let it take me to a really bad place mentally so for the sake of me and my creativity i decided to stop letting social media take priority in my life. This little tolerance break did wonders for me and although im not ready to dive back in 100% of the way, i am ready to dip my toes! So expect periodic content from here on out!!!! Due to my birthday yesterday I totally forgot to post something. I’m sorry.
But I wanted to share a photo of the one book that really got me into reading.

Harry Potter and the Philsophers Stone! ☇
We read it in 5th grade and I immediately fell in love with the story. Because I did not own the books back then I borrowed them from my cousin. Even though I was a really slow reader I eventually finished them.
Since then I started buying and reading books more and more.

I’ve just discovered the Anne Frank Video Diary on YouTube. It’s a series of how Anne would have documented her story if she had a camera instead of a diary. It’s amazing. Go see it if you haven’t already.
