Unfortunately for BatCat fans, this story would ended up with Brutalia
But B and Cat would end their relationship up amicably though, and the kids would do their best to trap their parents together
I know the movie called “Parents Trap”… The father is getting married with a women while the kids trying to break them up together so that their parents be together.
But hear me out.
Selina is a good step mother, friendly and all that, BUT the kids don’t like her (plot motives????)
They like her as a friend, not as a stepmother.
So, sorry not sorry cat
Actually this is what I was thinking as well, Selina is great, but as a friend and a wine aunt, but the kids are still just kids, and some of them ended up preferring someone that takes care of them especially the younger ones.
(maybe if the kids are way older, Selina would relate to them better, but I usually depicts Selina as more or less 5-6 years younger than B and Talia as one or two years older than B by their dynamics)
But since Tim and Dami are just babies, and Talia handles them better, they basically prefers Talia. The older kids are okay with both but seeing that their dad and Selina chases each other in a circle, they just kinda fed up because they need stability in their life, and Dick while resents his mom for leaving, ended up following through with the plan as he misses his mom and wanting to have a full family with his brothers. Tim is ambivalent, but Talia’s raising her kids to logically think and work (just look at Damian) Timothy would fit better since he’s smart, just easily bored.
Jason is a momma’s boy. He would agree nonetheless as long as his mom is happy, but he’s still salty with Bruce. He plans everything as he has resources and ninjas to spare.
Damian is too young, but he’s perceptive. And more brothers means more people to fetch him his snacks and milk bottles so he’s just following through with the plan.
Selina would still be happy tho in the end, she kinda prefers to live freely and since Sel’s age is a bit younger than Bruce, Bruce is already in the ‘settle down’ stage and wanting stability and Selina is still living her life untethered, hence the neverending circular chase.
She would ended up being the kids’ wine aunt with the sirens however, visiting with gifts from travels and missions, and roasting Bruce’s idiocy with Talia from time to time, in a lunch or tea time or while she’s visiting the kids.
Dick had always been aware of the hole in his family. At school, he had often seen kids his age being coddled and babied by their mothers, but only a few times had it led him to wonder where his mother was. He had seen the empty look in his father’s eyes, the one that was rarely visible, but somehow always present. At least it had been, until Selina came into the picture. She was like a movie star in the boy’s eyes. She was beautiful and confident. Selina was always good to Dick’s father, and in return Bruce loved her dearly. Dick never took time to question whether she was right for his father. At the point when he was able to truly question it, Tim was introduced into the family. The four year old had been taken from a neglectful family. He was scared and untrusting of everyone, including kind-faced Alfred. Tim had hidden in his room the first moment possible. While Bruce was swept up in Wayne Tech business, Dick slipped away from Alfred’s watchful gaze.
“Tim?” He asked, knocking on the toddlers door.
“Go away.” Came the child like reply.
Dick sighed, and wiggling the knob, coaxed the lock open. Tim shivered and crawled to the back corner of his large bed. Dick gave the boy a small smile, and sat on the moon shaped rug. He leaned against the bed and allowed his shoulders to droop, in what was hopefully read as welcoming. He heard the bed shift slightly as Tim moved.
“You don’t need to be afraid.” The movement stilled. “Dad’s going to take care of you.”
“I miss my mommy.” Tim erupted into tears.
Quickly, Dick jumped onto the bed. Dick encompassed the bawling toddler in his arms. Tim snuggled into his new brother’s arms and continued to cry. Dick did his best to sooth the child. Bruce burst into the room. Red faced, he took Tim. Tim grabbed onto Bruce’s shirt, and whaled harder. This was the kind of scene the media would love. The headlines of “single father Bruce Wayne adopts abused child” or “Can Bruce Wayne really be trusted to raise two boys?”. Either way, a photo like that would have been everywhere. But the media wasn’t there to capture the moment. The only one there was Dick Wayne, the motherless son of Gotham’s local playboy.

This letter made me cry, I always thought that going back to the origins of the son of the demon something like this would have happened, Talia gave the child but she repented and got him back. I can’t believe Damian found the letter, I wonder how him feel about this
I think it woulda been so funny if the reason Bruce’s wedding to Selina fell through was actually because he was still technically married to Talia (like in Batman: Son of the Demon) and legally could not marry another person
Bruce is dumbfounded. Selina is like bruce, what the hell, and Bruce has to stammer out that… that he forgot he was married to Talia. He didn;t think it counted. And Selinas just like YOU FORGOT! THAT YOU WERE MARRIED! TO THE MOTHER OF YOUR CHILD!?!?!!?
Talia is laughing because she remembered. She thinks it’s funny. Maybe she’ll sign divorce papers is he asks nice enough and also gives her shared custody of the kids
Though, but this would be the funniest time for Jason to legally come back to life. I know, I know I am mixing canon timelines here, but just picture the added media spectacle of the whole affair. Talia swans into Gotham and just so happens to have Bruce’s formally thought dead child with her, the theatrics!
Talia doesn’t even have some scheme with this, so much as just playing the game to see what happens and maybe hang out with Damian a bit. Ra’s has been banished from the whole affair, while Jason’s mostly in it because he can make Bruce squirm for the hell of it.
This is additionally engaging with Damian & Bruce’s previous relationship where Damian was less “My father is the greatest” and far more “You are an unhinged control freak.” Because now he has a father he’s meh on a mother he loves, but also a brother he loves, but another he’s just like “Your vibes are rancid” about.
Also I know I said this in the previous tags but:
Dick will un adopt himself out of spite to ensure Talia is never legally acknowledged as his stepmother.
Cass is barely invested in the whole affair because she thinks most laws are stupid, but she knows no one’s got anything evil going on with this and so is mostly just chilling.
Tim agrees with Dick on principle for which Damian curses him out as a coward for.
Duke thinks Talia seems pretty cool, baller even, and wants to spar with her when she’s using a sword.
Steph wants to trick Bruce into adopting her before he loses custody to Talia.
DC announcing that Tom King’s finally getting to write the Bruce/Selina wedding in (his out of continuity comic) Batman/Catwoman only to turn around and release the Bruce/Talia cover for Shadow War the very next day is super funny and immensely chaotic of them, actually
