I was today years old when I got to know the phrase isn’t - Up and Adam. It’s ‘up and at'em’.
Dang, I just assumed it meant get up and get started on your work like Adam, as in with the zeal of the first human ever to grace earth. Heh, I did deem it too catholic for my taste, so I used it only sparingly.
Being a fruits basket fan is like. Yes this is deeply flawed. Yes this was a formative story of my childhood. Yes I have 8000 problems w it. Yes this is one of the greatest stories of all time
Flaws make a good story. If everything was picture perfect and ideal, there would be no story to tell. I like the messiness of the characters in this series. You can like them without liking every single one of their actions. I think there are only 3 characters I don’t like out of the whole series, and that is because they don’t have any redeeming qualities or likable-ness (e.g. Ren and Kyo’s biological father).
(Also before I see anyone starting to flip out about the 1836728 flaws like I’ve seen in the series tags, liking a story DOESNT equate to supporting its bad situations and behaviors in real life. Surprising, I know. It’s just a story, either chill and enjoy it or don’t watch ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
