SAKURA

Haunted her family dojo for a long time in isolation, now abandoned by the living and left to overgrown ruin. She normally protects it from trespassers, but when Aoi shows up one day she let’s her hang around for the company. She still does her usual training, tho it’s more for the comforting routine than anything else. Over time, she starts finding the motivation to fix the grounds up a bit, finding that she still wants to use her knowledge to teach and help others become strong. Her dream is to help someone take her old title as strongest person alive.

She’s a bit standoffish and intimidating to newly met people, more out of awkwardness than malice due to her years of self isolated training. But after so much time spent with a hypersocial fish wife, she’s mostly gotten over that and has a much warmer, comforting social presence (except for with Hiro, but she’s mostly just playing it up bc she likes how easy he is to scare)

While on the search for a young Maki, Aoi came back with a lost kid that she thought was her, but sadly was not. This kid had no other family, so Aoi and Sakura took her in as their own, naming her Tenko.

Sakura became her daughter’s mentor, and ended up being the one to keep her out of trouble and channel her chaotic energy with martial arts while Aoi worked on her new bakery business.

AOI

Friendly water elemental that wound up in Sakura’s dojo pond on her travels, and liked it so much she never really went away.

Very social, if she sees folks she’ll come right up and say hello, decide they’re friends and they have very little say in it.

Maintains the large pond on the dojo grounds, filling it with all sorts of fish and aquatic life she finds or rescues, mostly different breeds of carp and amphibians.

Never put much focus on keeping a humanoid form, relying on her loose jacket to do most of the work when that’s necessary. Sakura just carries her in a bucket most of the time anyway, so she never felt the need. However, when Tenko came to them she found herself wanting to do things for her that were difficult with fins, and so she started working on it, eventually doing a pretty passable job..

Realizes hands can also make donuts!! Woah!! So she goes and opens her own bakery, a family business in a quaint village not far from the dojo. It often serves as a hub for their various friends to come pay visits, and they host an occasional holiday there.

danganronpaunpopularopinions:

The v3 is probably the most controversial cast out of the 4 games and a lot of people stil discuss about them until now, questioning or criticizing more and more about their actions but now, I’ll  be talking about something that many people might have noticed and is that how the cast itself are extremely biased to each other. @nataliaphantomhivesblogpostsexplainit very well and I just wanted to add more stuff. Before I start with my ramble, I warn you there’s many v3 spoilers so if you didn’t finished the game please stay off the blog and finish the game.

First of all, thank you so much for referencing my posts!!

Every point here is spot on. I love ever single point you provided. V3 is definitely the most biased game in danganronpa, and i’m glad more people are talking about this matter.

The game made Shuichi extremely emotionally biased which moreover made the game biased since we see everything from his point of view.

And let me tell you, Makoto and Hajime are biased themselves, but theres a difference—they don’t heavily dismiss characters actions and feelings which is something that Shuichi constantly does.

Let me provide a couple examples:

Here is Makoto’s feelings about Celeste after she died. He is absolultely revolted about what she did to Kiyotaka and Hifumi but he also can’t forget the fact that he formed a bond with her and considered her a friend.

Here’s Hajime’s feelings after Mikan got executed. He was very aware that she murdered 2 of his friends yet he was still upset about the way things ended with her.

And now… We have Shuichi.

Yup. Thats all he said. There wasn’t a single acknowledgement for Kiyo or even Shuichi just being in disbelief over Korekiyo doing what he did. they immedietly went back to focus on Tenko death, which sure, is understandable if we consider that its vital for Himiko’s development. But an acknowledgement towards Korekiyos character wouldn’t have hurt.

They literally just brush off the fact that someone got executed infront of them?? They found out that someone who they had formed a bond with was actually not who he seemed and literally got brutally executed and all Shuichi says is “ah okay well atleast we are done with that! Lets move on.”

In thh, Celeste killed 2 people ruthlessly and Makoto still had the heart to look back on their friendship.

In sdr2, Mikan killed Ibuki and Hiyoko and Hajime admits he still didn’t want things to end like this. He didn’t want Mikan to catch the despair diesease and die the way she did.

But in V3, we don’t get a single nod to Korekiyo’s character, and it was even more ruined by making a joke out of his traumatic relationship with his sister.

And to make things worse, V3 also heavily focuses on Kaito and Maki who are probably some of the most biased characters who always get a free pass for their actions.

I personally blame this on the writing though because I feel like Kaito’s flaws would have been very interesting if he actually have consequences.

If Kaito didn’t suffer “creators pet” syndrome I would have genuienly liked Kaitos character.

Especially if we also get to think about how much Kaito’s ideals and Kokichi’s ideals clash and how their characters already had a chance to foil each other in canon through their dynamic, but we still didn’t get the actual opportunity for this dynamic to come full cycle, so I was left unsatsified with Kaito’s character.

Kokichi’s character actually went full cycle, for once, he was for once being honest and vulnerable, he shared his feelings about the killing game which were extremely similar to Kaito’s, he hated the killing game and wanted to be the one to stop it. The audience was able to take in that we finally get to see him in a genuine and vulnerable place.

But then Kaito’s character absolutely destroys that because they STILL made him dismiss Kokichi’s sacrifice, there wasn’t any form of development from Kaito’s end because he refused to believe in Kokichi’s last words and intentions. We didn’t go full cycle like we did for Kokichi.

As for Maki, her character is downright awfully written, not only does she suffer from creators pet syndrome like Kaito but she also never gets reprucussions for her shitty behavior.

Maki seriously never got called out for being rude. Take this scene for example:

Shuichi calls her refreshing.

What is so refreshing about downright insulting your friends beliefs? Theres nothing refreshing about upsetting Kiyo and calling his passion stupid and delusional.

The thing that Maki said here was genuienly mean and shouldn’t have even gotten postively acknowledged by the protagonist.

Here’s something else Maki says that pisses me off:

And this was simply brushed off…

This comes to show how she isn’t even guilty about almost succesfully killing Kokichi in ch5. She still doesn’t regret selfishly going against the groups wishes since “he’s better off dead”. She even sees Kokichi saving Kaito’s life as something minimal.

How can she say that after hearing Kokichi’s plan to help everyone? How could she say that after Kokichi literally went out of his way to save her?

I understand that the group is rightfully bitter about Kokichi and what he did but that doesn’t excuse her saying that he was better off dead. Especially if we consider the fact that he sacrificed himself for all of them.

The moments that you pointed out in your take along with the ones I have pointed out are still just a fraction of the other injustices that some v3 characters suffer from which just comes to show how this isn’t a small problem in the game since it happened throughout the whole game.

But anyways, I am done with my ramble lol
