Foreign Lands by Robert Louis Stevenson, printed by Anna K. Ganske
In this poem by Robert Louis Stevenson, a child climbs up a cherry tree in their garden to see “foreign lands”, such as the neighbors garden, and a nearby river. In a little miniseries for spring, we will be doing much the same, and exploring four neighboring books by two poets from the UK.
Our first poet is Robert Louis Stevenson, who is best known for adventure stories like Treasure Island, andThe Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, as well as his poetry for children.
Today’s item is quite spring like in color, with floral cloth covered boards protecting an accordion fold book, tied with a blue ribbon.

Can you believe that I’ve had this yarn since I was in high school? I brought it to Halifax and back to Toronto before I ended up using it. Crazy!
These socks are A’s mom’s Christmas present, though I was tempted to keep them for myself!
The yarn is Cherry Tree Hill Yarn Fingerpaints, and it turned out super lovely!
