Yuri On Ice The Movie: Ice Adolescence has been postponed until further notice

Reminder: Please remember the staff is pouring their hearts out with this movie. They are individuals, like all of us, not machines. The movie may not be coming this year, but it is coming. We just need to be a little more patient.

We may be getting some potential new Yuri on Ice content with Animedia’s March issue, which releases on February 9th.

The magazine will feature a “close up” with Viktor to celebrate the Ice Adolescence trailer release, as well as interviews with two Yuri on Ice composers.

I will post more info when the magazine is released. Stay tuned!

In case you’re all having a bad day, here’s some good news. This time next week, we may get to see the new teaser for the Yuri on Ice Movie that was shown in theaters in Japan a couple of weeks ago.

Ice Adolescence News!

There is no official release date, however news and spoilers have been provided by those who attended the series screenings in Japan

- The movie is set in the Olympics. Viktor is performing (possibly even debuting)

- Viktor is wearing a green costume.

- “There’s a first time for everything..” this could be alluding to something. Maybe Viktor wins his first gold medal/first Olympic medal here/ first medal for Russia?

- The Olympics are set in Paris

- Yuuri will also be in the movie (possibly watching)

- The animation is better than Welcome to the Madness

The Yuri!!! On Ice Movie is currently in development!

Both Kubo herself and Studio MAPPA announced today that the movie’s production is underway. Kubo is working very hard to deliver this movie to all the waiting fans. She asks for our patience, as she said it is going to take a while.

Sayo Yamamoto said in a recent interview that she will do her best to bring the Yuri!!! On Ice Movie to the Philippines. ♥️

All the skaters spent new year’s eve together and when the countdown starts, Chris turns around and kisses Yuri from 11:59 pm to 00:01 am. Victor and Steven are pissed, Yuri is surprised and Chris can’t stop laughing because he’s drunk as fuck

I rewatched episode 12 for the bajillionth time and I was hit by a flood of feels for Chris…just like that bit where he gets his score you can see his heart break.

And I was thinking about his monologue and his behaviour during his final free skate and it’s so bad.

For years, Chris has put everything into his skating. The ice has been everything to him. Sure he has a (maybe?) boyfriend (has it ever been made official and that he’s not just his choreographer or something?), and I’m sure he makes room for some fun in his life, but everything comes second to skating - just the way Victor used to be. 

(There is one massive difference though between Victor and Chris that I want to point out - Victor lives to surprise and entertain the audience (winning is secondary to him)…but Chris lives to win)

I’m positive he has feelings for Victor (can’t tell what, don’t think he’s in love with him or anything but there’s definitely something there), but more than that Victor’s been something of an anchor for him - a kindred spirit throughout his career. Chris is probably more used to skaters like JJ who have lives away from the rink, but Chris, like Victor, has basically sacrificed as much as possible to skate. From the flashback with him and Victor we also know he was something of a Victor fanboy, and was following his career a decade ago, just like Yuuri.

And then suddenly Victor is gone from competition, and just like everyone else, he’s developed a life away from the ice, and he’s not even interested enough to pay attention to Chris’ routine (when both men have said they can’t imagine a season without the other and have likely always paid close attention to each other’s work), which must hurt.

Victor has also completely and utterly dominated figure skating since Chris was 19 at the latest. It’s probably been so long since he had anyone else as a figure in mind to beat that it’s part of the reason he cannot adjust to new skaters pushing through the ranks.

And that’s the sorest point of all. He’s known deep down since at least the Cup of China that these newer kids (the Yuris and JJ in particular) were going to surpass him, and they do it with ease at the GPF, and I think while he was sitting there at the kiss and cry getting his final score, that was him realising he’s missed his final shot at gold. He tried and failed to beat Victor for years and made the mistake of relaxing a little when Victor was gone, thinking it was finally his time to shine…only to be immediately eclipsed.

And I don’t think Chris is angry at Victor, or the Yuris or JJ…I think Chris knows he made a mistake and now he’s berating himself for it….I feel so badly for him…he’s the biggest loser at the final.Yuri is only 15 and has already achieved one of Chris’ big goals, Yuuri is 24, engaged and is yet to peak in his career. JJ is 19, engaged and undoubtedly has more to achieve. Otabek, like Yuuri, is a late bloomer, and Phichit’s goal was to reach the final - he doesn’t care all that much that he finished sixth. But to Chris…the ice is absolutely everything.

I think that while Yuuri is somebody who’s super shy when feeling are involved, he is not when it comes to sex. Bisexual!versatile!experienced!Yuuriis my jam. Here me out:

• When he was 16 he figured all the sex stuff out with Yuko, they wanted to do it with somebody they liked and trusted but with no pressure of some big love. It worked out for both of them.
  
• When he was 17 he went to some training camp. One time after practice he and some other boy jerked each other off in the showers.
  
• After he moved to the US some girl asked him to study for an important exam in a class they shared. When they were cramming the night before the girl said she was stressed af, he offered a hand. He fingered her, she blew him. They didn’t kiss but stayed study buddies till the end of the class.
• He and Phichit had a casual thing, very infrequent thing going on almost since the beginning of ther roommateship. It was Phichit who introduced him to toys.
• He was JJ’s first kiss.
• He went back to Chris Giacometti’s room when they met at a competition. Chris deepthroated him and he came quite quickly. Chris thought he was cute up until he made him cry when he ate him out.
• 6 months before the fatal Grand Prix he performed next to Sara Crispino. Nobody will ever know, but after they stumbled upon eachother still high on performance adrenaline they kissed to celebrate the success. And continued celebrating long into the night.
• When he gets together with Viktor, he gets performance anxiety for the first time. Viktor assumes it is his first time and tries to reassure him, says he will be gentle and that they don’t have to do anything he’s not ready to do. Yuuri realises what Viktor assumed and he remembers wait, I already did this, I’m good at this and makes his boyfriend come three times that night.

BONUS: Because of circumstances in which they sleep with Yuuri, as well as his meek demeanor, all of his partners, apart from Phichit, think they’re his first and only.

ALSO: I imagine all the skaters playing ‘never have I ever’ after the GP where Yuri wins silver. And consider this: everyone’s faces where Yuri drinks glass after glass and doesn’t get drunk during the first round only because this year he’s drinking apple juice.
