Y'know when they say “growing anxiety”, “big brain moment”, “your heart’s too big”, etc
Well imagine at these specific moments, the concerned Side turns into a Giant, until he calms down and the moment over.
Logan would probably be the one who willingly grows up, his size making it easier to quickly sort out any needed information in the Library or control panel.
Virgil will try to repress it. If he manages to stay calm, it won’t be more than a couple of inches, staying wary of what could happen next just in case. If it’s a stressful situation, he’ll definitely explode in size as a defense mechanism. If Logan has the misfortune of not being able to access the main core, it’s a “too stressed out to think properly” situation, and it’ll be over once Virgil (and incidentally Thomas) are completely worn out from the panic attack. Virgil will turn back to normal once calmed down and the steam out of his system.
Unless on very emotional moments, like “heart swelling up with joy”, Patton doesn’t grow. He is already a big guy right off the bat. One of the tallest Sides. When they say “your heart is too big for your body”, I think it literally. He’s a gentle Giant, but… Take a bit too much space sometimes. Adding the fact that he’s very clumsy.
If you have a combo of Virgil and Patton not letting Logan do his work, that’s the embodiment of “emotions getting in the way”.
Roman is a yoyo, depending on the self-esteem. He can grow as big and passionate at the slightest ego praise, only to quickly deflate to the first coming criticism.
Remus must stay human sized at any cost.
Janus’s situation is a bit more tricky. While he likes being tall and healthy from the self-care, he actually dislike growing up from lies. The swelling guilt and regrets from lying to the self is just as unbearable as the desperate need to spill everything, because it’s simply not healthy to keep everything inside.
I tried something for an art contest. We were supposed to draw an angel in Hell, or a demon in Heaven. But, with one constraint : put a toaster in the picture.
So you know I thought about Good Omens. And then, while I thought about hiding the toaster somewhere in the background, I found that it would be funny to, you know, own it.
So basically it’s two advertising for heavenly or hellish toaster.

Hello there ! Of course I can. And I did. And I took this opportunity to answer another anon request- Deceit in period clothing.
So, here’s two dark sides, in victorian outfits !
The scene is probably taking place in the late 19th century ; but Remus’ outfit is kind of outdated. It’s closer to 1840’s english fashion. I just had this vibe about him, deliberately wearing outdated clothes. And yes, Janus is smaller.
I really like the symbolism of Janus’ name. The two-faces god, a constant duality between past and future, beginning and end, night and day.
Maybe it has to do with the fact that I’m non-binary, but the image of the Roman god Janus is really appealing to me.
And as for the character ? Well, he’s my favorite in Sanders Sides. And it says a lot, when you see how great are every characters on that show !
So, well, all of that to say that I did a drawing.
So, well, here it is ! Hope you like it. I try to play with the original imagery of the Roman god, while sprinkling Sanders Sides’ symbols. For example, the two doors ; one directed to the Dark Side, the other to the Light.
So, here’s our favorite Princey, fighting the Dragon Witch like the hero he is ! It’s all bluff, tho. Just for the picture. Soon, he’ll end up doing a How To Train Your Dragon remake.

the best thing about this is that Roman’s in comfy clothes and Deceit being Deceit is just in his full get up??? like I imagine roman like “dee, com'ere, I want cuddles” and dee over here like… “sure” and FLOPS DOWN ON THE BED while Roman’s like “u needa change, my mans” and all u hear is a muffled “no” because dee is face first in the bed
Extras HCs that I thought about after I created the collage, because my brain does a great job being random…. Skin type!:
Roman and Remus would get a nice and perfect tan after being under the sun (like in the beach or being a lot of time under the sun), but after a lot of time their skin would get back to its normal tone and repeat the cicle because they love the sun.
Patton would also get a soft tan, but it would disappear faster and would let behind more freckles in his face, that’s a thing that he loves because baby freckles!
Logan is pale and sensible to the U.V rays, he get sunburn easily, and believe him, it’s not comfortable at all, so he has to use sunscreen (a lot of sunscreen), and umbrellas when he has to spend a lot of time under the sun. Does he use it as an excuse to spend a lot of times in libraries or in his home? you cannot prove it.
Virgil’s skind doesn’t get tan or burned, but the more time he spend under the sun, the more freckles he gets and that doesn’t helps his anxiety. So he avoid the sun like a vampire and uses his sweater even if he gets a heatstroke in the process.
Janus is allergic to the sun… ok, no but almost? The sun makes his vitiligo worst, that’s why he use a hat and his gloves, it doesn’t matter if is in the middle of the summer.
Logan and Janus force Patton, Remus and Roman to use sunscreen.
Usually Logan and Janus go together to buy diferent types of sunscreen and discuss about the ridiculous amount of money that they spend in it.
Janus introduced Virgil to the sunscreens friendly to his makeup, and usually gift him makeup with sunscreen in it because he understand how he felt about his freckles.
Sanders Sides in a Human!AU, this is how I imagine them! (aka a lot of Headcanons -HCs-)
Janus, Virgil and Remus have Heterochromia (the only hetero* thing in their bones, Ha!). Janus’ eyes are grey and green, Remus’ are green and brown and Virgil’s eyes are blue and grey
Patton and Virgil have freckles, but Patton only has them in his face (especially in his nose and his cheeks) and Virgil in his whole body
Janus has Vitiligo, and ear piercings
Logan has ear piercings too (but don’t let Roman, nor Patton, know about it ;) ;) )
Remus is a chaotic gremling, hence the little scratches on his face
Roman’s and Remus’ hair is strawberry blonde (it seems like carrot -or maybe my glassess are playing tricks to my perception of colors- but I imagine them with strawberry blonde hair)
Logan’s eyes are a shade of blue darker than Patton’s
The flower crown was Patton’s idea, neither of them has the heart to say no to him (and they look to goddarn cute with them)
